I love speaking to people on here I just think it would be great to meet some people who I can speak to in person, especially people who are my own age which is reasonably hard to come by (I'm 18)

Does this mean you believe that you go to the astral universe when you die? As I can see this being true as your physical body is shut off your spirituL body can carry on. Maybe withs large release of Dmt from pineal gland? Slightly off topic I know but interested what so done else's views are
The body always works properly. When you project you refocus only a portion of your awareness. Your body is not an empty shell during an AP as some may assume.
It does not matter how or when you project, nothing can harm your physical body and you wont be "lost" if your physical body is moving.
I have APd on an airplane and it was just like any other projections. Although I instantly refocused some place else and not in the airplane environment. During projection your spirit is not relocating in physical distance, but rather in frequency divided worlds. While your body is biologically alive, no matter what you do spiritually, your body never becomes an empty vehicle while you are refocused. You can never get lost or unable to "return". If those assumptions had any ground, then people would be dying very frequently during sleep, because as soon as your physical senses get shut down, guess where do you get refocused? The dream world is in fact an astral environment.
Quote from: Szaxx on September 10, 2014, 19:24:57Thanks that's been quite helpful. I'm starting to try and I guess I will keep trying until I start to see results as this doesn't really involve changing my routine at all.
Yep, it's a bit like the story of the young lad going through the mystical forest. At first he said no way. Each day he went in and remembered how far he went. When familiar with the way, he went deeper. Each time he repeated this his fear grew weaker and more forest was ventured into.
Eventually he knew the way easily and soon reached the other side. When he realised this he wondered what all the fear was about as the journey was easy.
Small steps each night remembering what you experienced along the road will get you there.
You'll meet signposts too, have no fear, you sleep each night and that's all you're doing. A twist here is to stay aware and PASSIVELY watch what takes place. Noises and visuals are there as well as feelings.
See how you go.
Quote from: Szaxx on September 10, 2014, 18:15:27Do you mean remember the stages of sleep (like the NREM stages)? And recall these as I go along? I also just don't really know what to expect if I'm honest
Aha a teenager, perfect.
When you go to sleep each night, just remember the stages you go through. Do your best to stay aware of being that personality that's the 'you' within and relax. You may drift into sleep later and later as more strange things start to be recalled.
In time you'll get the vibrations naturally.
This is what to do for now. Once you get the vibes, you'll know. The next step is to walk to another room in your house. It's that simple, it may take a while but start off with a room that's as far away from your sleeping body as you can get. Keep this room in mind each night before you sleep.
If your mind is ready you'll see progress.
The lights may be on, you'll understand this.
The room will be dark in the physical world though.
Quote from: Szaxx on September 10, 2014, 17:11:40I had this experience this summer and it's really made me want to try to AP I've known about it and tried before but I just don't really have the time. I think I'm going to start with LD and try that before I try to AP. Do you think this is a good idea or should I just try AP straight away?
It was a spontaneous non physical experience.
Many experience these in their teens and pass them off as a wierd dream. The awareness you have is far greater than any dream and you never forget this.
There are some posts on site with the same experience as you had but obviously in a different location.
Read the stickies on various methods of projection, if one looks interesting give it a go.
You may not get instant results but it's worth a shot.
