Ahh, now that's because... in a lucid dream, commands don't generally work like that. At least, this is only based on my own experiences in the past, it may differ for others. When lucid, you need to 'break' out of the dream. There is a plethora of ways to do this, but you may know them already. Ask if you don't :)

Alan, the way you speak shows disregard for any kind of politeness or respect. This forum values respect when speaking to other members, even if the involved disagree with each other. The way you portray yourself to be is someone scorned by others' views, so instead you seem to exert this bitterness out in the way you speak of how you think. If you truly do not care for respecting others' opinions, then there is no point in your presence in these forums; this is a place where people can discuss, learn and accept what others think. This is not a place where you ignore basic rules of kindness and respect. If you believe you have a higher knowledge than us all, then why come here? You are not the resounding voice of all that is correct, so do not act like you are. That is what you portray in the way you post.

However, other than my outburst of opinion I wish you to become the object of this thread no longer. PM me if you wish to discuss this further.

On the note of pain:

Sensory nerves send impulses about what is happening in our environment to the brain via the spinal cord. The brain sends information back to the motor nerves, which help us perform actions. Pain is more than just cause and effect: it is affected by everything else that is going on in the nervous system. Your mood, your past experiences and your expectations can all change the way pain is interpreted at any given time. If you step on that rock after you have a fight with your wife, your response may be very different than it would if you had just won the lottery. Your feelings about the experience may be tainted if the last time you stepped on a rock, your foot became infected. If you stepped on a rock once before and nothing terrible happened to you, you may recover more quickly. You can see how different emotions and histories can determine your response to pain. In fact, there is a strong link between depression and chronic pain.

Asian monks train themselves to perceive pain as a neutral or a good thing, this is what allows them to lie on things such as huge iron spikes, or walk across coal slowly. Different sensory nerve fibers respond to different things, and produce different chemical responses which determine how sensations are interpreted. These chemicals are then the thing that makes us perceive the pain, it is up to our brain to decide whether it is good or bad. In extreme heat or extreme cold, your brain cannot tell whether you are in something hot or cold - this is relevant because after a while all you may experience is pain, disregarding the heat side of it completely.

Pain is in the mind, we only sense the 'go' sign to pain via nerves.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / An idea...
January 19, 2011, 18:07:32
Hey all, long time no see.

Anyhow, I'd like to propose an idea. I tried a few forum searches but didn't come up with anything conclusive, although I do remember it being discussed some time back.

So, Astral Projection... is it all in the mind? No, I don't mean are we just imagining it. I mean, does it only take place in the mind? If we were leaving our mind and traveling into an open public space, then surely we'd meet thousands of other people who are doing the same thing.

What I'm wondering is that perhaps when we project we merely go into the planes of our subconscious; the part of ourself that is infinitely truthful and notices everything our 'higher self'. What I've also been wondering is... are the spirits we meet the actual person talking to us? Or is it the remnant of their memories contacting us? I'd say it was the latter.

These are a few things I'd like some different and more experienced perspective on, although everyone is free to give their opinion :).

So, what do you think about the questions and ideas I proposed?

I've had the exact same experience Tiny, I guess we have the same sort of minds, I definitely find myself easier into a trance-like state when letting my imagination take reign, thinking of things and the like.

Well, I joined when I was...14 or 13 and it's hard to get the hang of, I'm still trying but I know a plethora of things now (15), so I'm due to catch it soon...Although I have had gaps between it as well as not trying for a while :)

Thank you Adrian for keeping these forums running, this place means allot to people and especially I feel the 'residents' if you will, like me. I read every topic but do not post in all of them, without this site I would be lost. I was under the impression you left this forum to grow on it's own but it's apparent by this that you didn't.

I'm happy you still look after us small people on Astral Pulse.

That just let me into a crazy fall of... Wonder...

What if, when we are 'born' we're just our higher self accessing the memory to learn new things, or find out about secrets? That idea was inspired by assassins creed true but it is possible... Perhaps our Higher self is not completely omniscient but it knows what it does because of past lives.

Honestly I doubt we'll ever find out the answer in our physical state, that would just destroy the meaning of life.

Well, for me...I've had an OBE before and I'm not necessarily spiritual probably because I haven't experienced APing for long enough, only long enough to go around my house...

However I'm still open minded that dreams can mean things and help us learn and I take everything everyone says on here seriously while applying some laws and limits to the idea. So, people can change in time. They just need to experience something great like APing, sadly -because- they can't leave their body because they don't believe they will never get the chance.

Indeed, but in my opinion...Lucid dreaming you have less control over your actions and is more your imagination, APing is just...amazing the feeling is amazing...when you wake up you are amazed...

linked with the 'human' mind? I thought you visited Aliens?

Just wondering, these 'starships' what did they look like? What colour were they?
#13
If we're meant to be in the 'spiritual' world then doesn't that beg the question why we spend so much time in the physical world? Maybe, it's allot better for us then we think?
#14
Indeed, the main possibilities are...The flare fries the earth and just ruins everything generally, The flare isn't amazingly strong but does give people radiation and spread cancer, maybe memory loss?

Or, nothing happens and we're all fine until the next "2012" or "Y2K".

Welcome to the forums, I only hope you learn as much as I did!

Only thing I'd say is that sounds quite personal to your way of life, so I'm questioning if you were hearing what you wanted to?

I assume you meditate and do energy body developement?

Regardless any news on 2012 is good.

Although, I have survived Y2K, Bird Flu, Mad Cow, 9/11 and Swine Flu. 2012, Here I Come!

I meant that as a title to the question really, not asking for proof but asking more for...details.

This sounds pretty amazing, what I'd like to know is if you could explain any of the technology that you have seen? and if you could make any pictures of it? What sort of technology is it, vehicles? Military? Spiritual aids?

Also, you've spent a lot of money.

Welcome to the forums! It was a saviour for me too :)

I can't pinpoint everything I do but my ambitions would be the same, just extremely amplified from what they are now seeing as I would be able to do literally -everything- within reason, obviously.

I would give my family and closest friends what they wanted and help to sort out their problems best I could, not -always- throwing money at them...

I would make sure, above all my family life a relatively normal childhood, as they grew up I would not tell them of our riches and live in an average house, I'd want them to go to average schools and appreciate money and people and what they have so they grow up as normal people having to work for what they get. -Then- after I'm sure they are down to Earth, happy and very nice people I would reveal my secret to them.

Other than that, who knows? Honestly I haven't a clue, there are millions perhaps billions of things I could do.

I think that perhaps all our experiences visually are very personal and this is maybe why we can't meet other people in the astral? Our mind creates the astral around us no? Or at least emulates it for us? So, maybe this is why people also see the astral Pulse island differently and such?
#21
Firstly, how much did you pay for them?

Secondly, hard proof! What were the designs rushing through your eyes of? Can't you tell us more or discover your talent in art and draw it for us!? :P

Welcome to the forums!

I find many dreams influence subconsciously what we do or some of our choices, and vice versa.
#23
Oh you are a lucky one and -so- close!

These both were definitely Lucid Dreams and they do feel real, but AP feels -so- much more real! Everything is in place, I remember my first LD I was so convinced I was APing I tried to do the things I heard of, but when I woke up I realized it was a dream after someone gave me a comment on here.

In LD's things that you want to happen will happen differently, the jumping is a pure sign of this, all the possibilities in your head just flood out and one of them is chosen subconsciously.

But, I'm digressing...The way I've had an AP is by forcing myself through a wall or being backed into something and imagining it is like a game, once I go out of the map I'm in a special untouched sorta' place.

You will know when you're in an AP, when you do it for real using the LD technique you will most likely find yourself in your bedroom.

Well done! :D

What we must take into consideration is people have certain reasons why they may not believe in dreams or such. Definitely the general public don't really believe in OBE's or spirits, they generally think that it's the same thing as religion and many people are no longer religious.

It may seem blunt or narrow minded but it's true, but people in the masses can believe in the wrong thing, as I believe about Jesus.

This post was not meant to offend anyone or their beliefs I apologize if I have. But we must all learn to take into consideration peoples opinions and beliefs and live with them.

I feel I am due another big change in my life soon, I've only had one so far. Sadly I'm not as spiritual nor as good at capturing these dreams and OBE's as others here so I doubt I'd hear any message, I'd hope I would though.
