So I never really hear about anyone forming a long lasting relationship with an entity in the astral realm.
Has anyone here ever met an entity in the astral and met them several times thereafter. Or have you met any consistent entities throughout your experience?

If so, lease elaborate in detail

Finally have time to write my experience. So for a few weeks, I was just going inside mirrors to explore mirror worlds and their relation to my reality. Some would be very similar, some worlds would literally be a mirror version (as in if i moved my left hand, might hand would move, etc)
After doing this for a while, I came to the conclusion that there are different realities in located in different pockets of our world. I heard somewhere about going inside a painting, but i unfortunately didnt have a painting in my room (For the first few weeks, I just tried staying in my room while projecting to get used to everything, and see if i can maintain continuity) But as a very avid reader, I did have books

Experience: So the night before, I stood a book up on my drawer to make it easier to "leap" in, so to speak. when i finally had a successful AP I saw the book as I left it. Instead of just walking slowly closer into the book to go inside it (as I would with the mirror) I felt it would be better to turn myself to a very small point of consciousness and zoom in there. I did, and felt a huge shift in how i felt. Where i was seemed to be a mix of both astral projection and lucid dreaming. I dunno, it just felt  different.
Anyways I was inside the book, and saw it as clearly  as i read it, and waaaay more vividly. I could also choose to watch it as an observer, or to alter it by participating. theres a bit more to the story, but I want to keep it short.

Next time, Im going to try it with a book i havent read before. Im also guessingthat this might only work with novels. reference book might not work. But hopefully that doesnt stop anyone from trying

I just had a very amazing experience today. I'll probably elaborate when I get off work, but before I forget, I wanted to ask if anyone else had an astral experience where they tried to go inside their favorite book, or any book for that matter.
What I mean specifically is a novel with a story line. if so, please share your experience. Want to see  how it compares to mine and if something similar happened

One of my attempts I tried (yesterday) was around 3:00 am. After some hours of sleep. One thing I totally noticed when trying to project was that maintaining focus was a bit harder than during the daytime. IT felt like there was fog in my brain. So, dear future self, next time you decide to practice during the very early morning, consider waking your mind up a bit.

@fuzzyquils. No worries! :D will be waiting for your post.

Very interesting read guys. I find it very fun reading experiences with people interacting with other beings from the astral.

Hi

The first time ia hard to remember since it was so long ago. Their was no holy crap I did it, their was no excitement.. it was just peacefull, I did think when I looked back at my bed and seen myself sleeping, that I did it. I did not exit through vibes, I just simply got of the bed and stood up. Looked out the bedroom window.. lasted about 4 min or so.

I had no feeling of end game.. more of a feeling of expansion of how huge life is.

I have never decided to end it and then go one day I will not end it and go for it. My goal was to leave the body, your goal should be the same, but for some reason you seem to shut it down right when the vibes are roaring, everything is saying to you go now..  its okay if you are satisfied with your progress.. not everybody gets vibes and runs out of their body. People learn at their own comfort level.

I had thoughts about what it would be like, I had fears.. how do I get back to the body once I leave it? all my fears and thoughts did not even develop or come true, no demons waiting to attack me, I am not dead, I did not really think anything.. was really relaxed and thought I should try this again..LOL

Thanks for the Reply XD
My way of going about this is a bit different, as you could probably tell. In a way, I kind of want to explore every aspect of Astral projection whether it be the vibrations or the exit itself. I'm just having fun playing around with this whole activity.  I have many new things I want to try out related to AP.
hahaha, yeah, in the VERY beginning (maybe 3 years ago) I had some major fears related to astral projections (so I ultimately settled with lucid dreaming) but now, I don't really have any fear. Or rather, it's more like I truck through them.

Also, very interesting first time. Again, thanks for the reply.

-----------------------------

I Just came out of a very quick session (I was woken up by a family member).Yesterday. I was playing around with different ways of distraction until I reached the level I wanted to reach. Today I found out a general guideline that seems to be consistent and works for me:

I seem to always here a ringing sound whenever I want. Even now, without any ear plugs, the sound is persistent, and if I focus on it, can be quite loud. So during projection, I would always try to become distracted using the ringing sound. Today I found it most efficient to become distracted by trying to listen to other noises within the Ringing. That way it's not just one consistent noise you're focusing on but a specific noise that you have to look for. For me, what I heard was what sounded like crickets within the ringing sound. The "cricket" sound were not ever present so I didn't become distracted on other things and was able to maintain my focus on it. I was able to reach a slight trance much quicker. I will try again throughout the day.

Aiming "for" the vibrations is kind of like learning to punch correctly by aiming "at" your target.
When you learn to punch, you learn to punch by aiming THROUGH your target.
So the act of punching hasn't really much to do at all with your target really... it has to do with what's beyond your target.
Just as the act of projection hasn't really much to do at all with the vibrations... it has to do with what's beyond the vibrations.

Vibrations aren't a goal in and of themselves... they're simply a signpost that reads "Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it right" - then to be ignored and forgotten.
While wandering the path of projection, you might never encounter that sign... but that also doesn't mean you're not on the right path.  :)

Thanks for your output Xanth! :D

You have a very particular belief of what you're supposed to "experience" when you're projecting.

What about experiences where no "peeling away from the body" is felt?  What about just a smooth shift of awareness from one reality to another reality?

Does that qualify also as an "obe"?

The point I'm getting at is that what most people who stumble upon here have already stumbled upon a lot of other information first... and that information has caused them to form an opinion on what an obe is, even before they've had a chance to experience one themselves.  This causes those people to form a severe limitation on "what" an obe *COULD* be and instead replaces it with a narrow definition of what someone else believes they are.

My (personal) goal here is to get people to break free from those limitations and begin ATTEMPTING to look at projection from a larger perspective... a more all-encompassing perspective.  One that even includes this physical reality experience you're currently having AS a projection too.  As an "obe".

Hey xanth. Thanks for the reply. I know exactly what you mean :D. I was actually going to add in the OP that the way I worded is just what I used for "lack of a better word". I didn't intend to imply that what I said was the only way of experiencing it.

I've spent the whole day practicing astral travel. I will have more free time like this for about another week, so I take what I can.
I did about 5-6 sessions but didn't enter the V-state at all today. But no worries. You win some you lose some. I won't consider this a fail since I've learned from the experience.

One reason was because of my late sleep schedule. I didnt sleep until 2-3 am which probably was a factor.
Another reason is because as soon as I woke up, I distracted my brain with something silly on the internet. That distracted me for about 2  of my sessions and got me on the wrong foot.
So the lesson I learned is to go into astral projection with a clear head. too many running thoughts can hinder you. The best thing to do is let astral projection be one of the first thing you do as you wake up. Well if you have time of course. And then continue with doing a 1-2 hour session throughout the day.So Tonight I shall make sure to sleep a bit earlier.

It could be anything From scary, to amazing, to good to bad. I would like to hear about some of your experiences with running into an entity while projecting.
Since I'm guessing the Astral plane has a diverse amount of beings inhabiting there, you guys can talk about whatever types you've encountered, whether it was another living human astral projecting, an artificial being, a person who is not alive anymore, an alien, an inter-dimensional being, or maybe even something I've never heard of before.

For anyone with an experience with another being while in the astral (or other) plane, feel free to reply with as much detail as you want. :D

Specifically speaking, to actually peel away from your body, and to be able to move around in the astral plane.

I haven't been able to actually peel away from my body yet because I usually axe off my attempts because of the strong vibrations I get.
I definitely do understand what people mean when it feels like you're about to die when you project for the first time. A very peculiar feeling indeed. For me, it felt like if I continued, I might become paralyzed for life, because of the increase intensity of vibrations I get the more I intent to leave my body (during the vibrational phase.). Of course I know that's not true. hahaha, but my thought process during the time I have to actually project out is something like "ok. I've made it this far. I'll count this as a success. No need to actually LEAVE my body now. I've got plenty of time". And then I would end my session for the time being.

So I'm curious to hearing you guy's experience leaving your body for the first time. Did you also feel crazy vibrations, or was the transition as smooth as a baby's bottom? Did you think that it was endgame for you? Did you purposely decide to end it several times and then just said "f*ck it" one day and did it? Or maybe you trucked through from the getco?

Same Day  8:38
------------------

Just finished a session at around 8:21. I started almost an hour prior to that time. I have a fairly busy day today, so I decided to end it short. But Had I stayed in for another 30 minutes, I would have reached the consitent V-state. I ended the session after feeling the fleeting V-state. I was on my back for this session.
My prep was the following: As soon as I laid down, I started focusing on energy going both up and down my body. There's no particular reason I do that other than the fact that I find it relaxing. After that, I essentially forget about astral projection. Well rather than forget, I put my focus to other things. The first thing I did was visualize an image for every thought I had. I then decided to progress a particular thought. In the beginning I would be controlling every situation, but then after a certain point, characters and events would start forming on their own. Every so often, I would inevitably become aware that I was distracted. At that point of awareness I would sort of "test" myself. I do that by kind of scanning my body. What would happen (if I'm in a deep enough state) is that I would begin to enter V-state. If I'm nowhere close to V-state, I will feel nothing. If I'm fairly close, but not quite, I will feel V-state momentarily, but it will be fleeting. If I am in a deep enough state, I will fully enter consistent V-state. At the point the only way to cancel it would be if I intentionally made an effort to. I find it to be a great indicator/feedback.

I noticed that it takes 1hr-1hr 30 minutes to enter consistent V-state. I will try once more once I get home.
I have a suspicion that I enter V-state much quicker while laying on my stomach then on my back. However, I feel a acute pain while trying to project when Im on my stomach, while I only feel heat when I'm on my back. I think I would sacrifice some time in exchange for a smoother transition from V-state to the "Astral plane".

More on my distraction method, I found that I could pretty much distract myself on any topic if I focused on it long enough, but I find it much more enjoyable to make it on topics I find interesting or entertaining.

To conclude, I would also consider doing a 5-10 minute meditation session before the astral projection session. The meditation session is to clear my mind, as I find it harder to progress if my mind is running on its own.

Same day 11:34 am
----------------------
A bit of background with who I am. I figured this might help some with success.

I'm 18 years old, male. I've started getting into metaphysics and things similar during my first year in highschool (age 14-15). The first thing I attempted was lucid dreaming. I seriously sucked in lucid dreaming (and still do to this day). at my peak (which was maybe 6 months after I started practicing ) I would get maybe 1 lucid dream a month. MAYBE. I hated those odds. I started slacking, and stopped practicing all together. I would always start and stop throughout the years on and off. I did the same thing with my other endeavers: Tulpas, Servitors, etc. I started retrospecting and figured out that I was moreless letting other people's experience and opinion control my results. Which isn't, in of itself a problem. especially if the person you are reading/listening too is giving positive opinions. The problem is that the internet is a Sea full of egos and opinions and the main ports are Forums. So many opinions. So many ideas. So many perspectives. Some could be negative, some can be positive. Some could just be neutral. It's just that people who are new to these kind of stuff just eat up as much information as we can get. Doing that makes us left with nothing but contradictions, and doubt, however. Thats exactly how I was. So I decided to go about Astral Projection ina different way: I first did a little bit of research (for only about 2-3 days). I then decided to believe the information I liked, and throwaway the information that didn't seem right/fun to me.
Next thing I did was Jump straight in and practiced. I experimented.above all else, I kept a level head. I increased my intent while decreasing my level of importance of "needing" to astral project.
After more or less 3 months, I can now say that I am exactly where I knew I'd be. I'm more farther along than than most who've been interested for more than a dozen months.

I'm just like everyone else who decided to embark in astral projection in the beginning: excited by the potential.
But what I (and what, I susppect, most every successful astral projector do) did was intentionally diverge from the group.
My take away from all of this is the following: Spend a week, practicing astral projection without the influence of others. Only come up with conclusions you've learned from experience. Challenge restrictions. Always consider every session a success.

Same day  10:20

I've done it guys. I'm still feeling a bit light headed

This marks the Very first time successfully entering V-state by intentionally making it happen during a session. All the other times, it was more or less like me just winging it and doing whatever, but this time I've intentionally brought about this success.

I laid on my stomach and just decided to get carried away by an imaginative thought. Not the way I described in the last post. No, this was rather different: I simply imagined myself playing a basketball game. I did so to the point where I could see it very clearly in my minds eye. At one point I realized this and became aware again (I never really lost consciousness, but I was immensely distracted. I was in a trance, you could say).
I realized my body felt differently I then tried something that I've tried in all my other past success attempts (but always seem to forget since it felt so intuitive): I sort of "started" the vibration myself. It's like I knew I was ready too, and all I had to do was start the engine.

mind you, I was laying on my stomach at the time.
So, I begin to feel the vibrations. First thing I realized was that I felt like my head was spinning. It then felt like my body was trying to sink through the bed, and was having a hard time doing it. I then intentionally tried to separate my body. I started feeling that acute pain on my side. I was so surprised, I decided to abort. I wasn't to disappointed. I consider this a success, and will be making more attempts throughout the day. Anyways, this time while exiting, I decided to play with the different ways to bring my body back to normal. I realized that my head never seemed to be fully paralyzed. I tried opening my mouth, and while it opened, it seemed weak. Like it took all of me just to open it. Mind you, I was still in a trance state while attempting this.
Next, I tried wiggling my toes. I was able to do that, but not to the extent I was able to move my mouth. Moving any part of my body felt like I was doing it remotely, via intent.
Anyways, after a while (maybe a few seconds) I returned to my normal state.

Throughout my experience with all of this from my 3 months of practice, I came up with a few conclusions:

1) You do not have to wait hours after you eat to attempt astral projection: While it might be helpful to refrain from eating, you wont fail just because you ate something. The worst thing to happen to me was that I was aware of my stomach growling, but that can be ignored just like any other distractions.

2) You do not HAVE to astral project during certain times of the day:False. The session I just now finished, prior to that I was very much awake and conscious. While it might be easier to practice right after you wake up, or in the middle or night, you are not restricted to those time. I would even recommend gettinginto the habit to practicing whenever you want during the day time. Not only will it make you more flexible in being able to project at will, you wont be as scared as you would in the middle of the night. Which brings me to the next point...

3) Not once have I seen any creepy crawly monster: Granted, I tend to have a decent amount of control of my thoughts. But I have yet to see any monsters at the foot of my bed. I think it's mainly because I embrace and accept the idea that it could happen. I could see something scary. But really, fear is only in something unknown. So whatever I see, even if my initial reaction is fear, I would (if it happened) quickly just observe it as I would a bug: with caution, but without fear. That being said, I've never had one experience with any monsters, and it could be partlty because I do most of my practice during the daytime, and partly because I dont put out bad vibes that would probably manifest/attract those kind of things.

4) You don't need to be extremely comfy, or find that perfect sleeping position: During the several unintentional astral projection experience I've had, I was in some pretty wacky positions. Sometime, my leg would be sticking off of the bed. sometimes I would lay down in an extremely uncomfortable position. I did all that, but still managed to enter the V-state (albeit, unintentionally). Just goes to show you that you dont have to worry to much about posisiton, since astral projection is mostly a mind game. In fact, I feel like I had less success when I went for a position I thought was standard for astral projection (laying on your back).

5) You don't need complete darkness attempt to project: In the very beginning, during the day time, I would put so many blinds over my window I couldnt see anything. I don't think thats necessary. Again, during the time when I unintentionally entering V-state, both my windows had no blinds, and it was as bright as the sun shining off of a bald man's head. Granted it might help if you dim the light a little bit, you dont have to go crazy with covering the light.

6) It doesn't have to take you several months/years for you to astral project:I'm at the level most people who've been trying for years haven't gotten to, and it only took me less than 3 months (less than that if I were to count the weeks I took a short break from astral projection). Gibe me less than one more week, and I guarantee you I'll be able leave my body?
Why is it that it's easy for some, and hard for most? My honest answer is self sabotage. I see it in mostly every self improvement forum (and even in daily life). People would much rather fight for their limitations and follow the heard than to take a chance and create their own success. I'm sure that there are some on here (maybe someone reading this right now) who has been trying to astral project for months, maybe even years and doesnt have much to show for. That person is probably still trying to find the holy grail of techniques that will get him/her out of their body. I've gotten myself apart of that kind of scenario too many times (i.e with lucid dreaming) and I've never ever gotten to the level I wanted that way. So now I do something completely different: When I go to forums, I make it a mission to look at hardly any posts. I simply make a journal where I log my experience. I come up with my own conclusions, my own terms (mostly), and as a result, I recieve my own success.
In Short, what I'm trying to say is that if you, for even a week, decided to play by your own rules and come up with your own conclusions, and try to astral project without turning to other's technique, you will succeed. Or at the very least you will succeed more so than you did when you worked months trying to practice while also looking at post after post of people almost bragging about how hard Astral projection is.

I have more tosay on that topic, but I will leave that alone, for now...

I'm sure there's a lot of assumptions that people make that aren't necessarily true. But thats all I can think of for now. That being said, to some people those assumptions may be true for them. I'm not here to downplay anyone, or to call anyone out in saying whats possible and whats not. For those who already are avid Astral projectors, those assumptions are what works for them, and if it works it works.
I'm speaking primarily to those who are fairly new to Astral projections. Do NOT go and make assumptions based on something that someone else discovered. Come up with those conclusions yourself. Even the things that I say, there might be some liimiting assumptions I'm making. Don't full heartedly accept them. Delve into the unknown yourself and come back with your own conclusions.

For what is life, if not to experience through your own eyes?
Stay thirsty, my pioneer friends. I will continue this blog until I am very consistent with leaving my body.

That is all

P.S Pardon the raunchy-ness of this journal. As I stated in the very beginning, I'm mostly writing this for myself.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I was also wearing 2 earplugs while doing the last astral projection session. Not the most comfy of things, but it got the job done with blocking out noise. Some people say it's hard to project with something foreign in their ears. I used to think so to, and would always worry that me using ear plugs would stop any success. I was wrong. Use ear plugs, especially if you live in a mostly loud home. :)

6/3/15 8:51

Right after I woke up, I brushed my teeth, used the bathroom and went back to bed to practice.
back to back, you can say I had about 3 sessions (all lasting about 20-30 mins).
In the last session, I realized what I've already kind of knew: The only way to successfully enter V-sate is to distract my mind.
One way is to completely clear my mind and think of nothing (a fellow user called it Q-mind)
The other way, and a way that works wonder for me, is to distract your mind with a story.

I'll explain what I mean by describing how I figured this out: I was really tired one and decided lay down for a bit. I didnt want to sleep, but I kind of wanted to rest my body. So I closed my eyes, and let my mind wander, while still being aware. It was like watching a movie take place. eventually, I dozed off, but ended up waking up with my body in V-state.

This happened 2 more days in a row by doing the same thing.

Heres what I think. I detached myself from my thoughts and looked at them as something outside of me, something I can observe. Therefore, that created those outside thoughts to create a storyline of its own. In every case, I would always get swept up in the storyline, but (since I always held a bit of awareness with me) would always find myself in the v-state.

I could not recreate that exact formula for entering v-state, since I was now intentionally trying to enter it. The other times, I was more focused on the technique itself that my mind was to occupied to be distracted (funny, isnt it?).
So I decided to go about it a different way, and lo and behold, it worked. This is something I tried 3 days ago: I decided to intentionally distract myself.

Since I can't completely turn my thoughts off, I would decide to play with them. But with the perspective of my thoughts being outside of me. what I would do is, whenever I get a thought I would try to visualize it. As in I would try to find an image equilavent of a thought. I did that for a while until it seemed that the images were having a life of it's own. I was able to be distracted in the necessary way to enter V-state. I will refine this simple method by practicing today.

That was the one post tha got me to sign up here a few months ago! I still attempt AP with that method to this day. (I have gotten awfully close to a full-awareness projection before, but lately, I have been too tired to do that... :D)

Goodluck fuzzyquills. I guarantee that his post hold some very valuable meaning. My tip is, if possible, to sacrifice a week (or 5 days) and focus on nothing but Astral projection. Not with the mindset of "I HAVE to astral project or else...." but rather in the mindset of a scientist: With curiosity as well as indifference.

I've been having a lot of success with a technique very similar to his, and am now able to reach the vibrational state at least once a day. The thing is exiting my body without whimping out. At the funny thing is that I'm not even whimping out because it's scary. It isnt, especially since I practice during the daytime. It's just that I'm always surprised by the vibrations.

Keep it up, and don't tell yourself that you will succeed in a few more months, or even weeks. Tell yourself that you've only got a few more days (or maybe even hours).

Mindset is everything.

I just came across this fellow's post today. I'd got to say, that he's came up with very similar conclusions as I. It was a nice confirmation, and anyone reading my post and is looking for my recommendations, I totally recommend this guy's tips. Not method, because, it really isn't a method. But a rule of thumb. But it's exactly how it should be, for any other way might just make you try to hard.

Same day 1:03 pm
---------------------

I was able to  reach the 2nd relaxation phase. This phase was a lot stronger, however I decided to end it short. It lasted about an hour. I was laying on my stomach and felt relatively comfortable. During this session I decided to use one ear plug and put my uncovered ear on my pillow. It worked to some extent, and that was probably why I got some success. I will now attempt another session after a few minutes of meditation. This time with no ear plugs. The sound level in my room has decreased greatly.

Same day, 10:06 am

I've got to say, it doesn't seem that wearing ear plugs were really to much of an hindrance. The only thing is probably that it took me a bit longer to get into a relaxed state. I did not enter vibrational state this session, but I did, eventually was able to enter a trance.

I've found that body position plays a very big role for me. A mix of laying on my side and my back seems to give the best results.

This session ended in me entering my 1st relaxation phase. I decided to end it there. I usually go through 2-3 relaxation phase before the vibrational state kick in. It kind of feel like it's because going through a relaxation phase increases tension. An anology would be a bucket on the side of a ledge. The more I fill it with water, the greater the potential of it to spill over.

To conclude, I'll probably come up with a way to speed up the amount of time to enter the 1st relaxation phase (at least with earplugs on) so I can enter a vibrational state within the hour.I will be making other attempts throughout the day. expect more notes.

Also, for those who might not know some of the terms I'm using, please feel free to ask. Some of these terms are something I made up to give a name for something I experienced.

Yesterday, I was able to comfortably reach the vibrational state on my first try. Once reach, I tried to leave my body. What worked for me last time was to try and imagine another location. But every time I did that, last time, I would always feel a pain on my side, stomach area.

This time was different. This time I felt an heat sensation. But it wasn't painful to the point of me discontinuing the experiment. In fact, it wasn't painful at all. Just increasingly uncomfortable. I ended the experiment because the sensations itself was a new feeling for me, but next time I get into that state, I will maintain the visualization process until I am out of my body. Also, the place I was visualizing was my living room, since I would like to look at my home in while astral.

Today, I'm going to be trying to go astral with ear plugs, since my house probably wont be able to reach the ideal noise feel level. I doubt it will have any affect on the outcome, but better take note on my use of the earplugs just in case it does. I will post results. I usually stay in a session for no more than an hour.

Hello folks. I've come to a realization that I seem to get my studies and progressions done when I write in a journal and maintain it daily. Therefore, I shall begin to write down all of my experiences with my progressions with Astral projection. I will also list the date and time (eastern, for now) That these events take place, so I can form some sort of organization.

Pre- Journal (Goal/What I've accomplished so far)
--------------------------------------------------------
My goal is to be able to Astral project whenever I want.
My progressions I've made is being able to get to a vibrational state during the daytime or nightime.

More than anything, this journal is a place to post my experience. I don't mind people observing my conclusions, but I am not looking for help or support in this matter. I find it a ton more rewarding to come up with my own conclusions.
So, future viewers, enjoy.

That is all... For now

**For the person who started this thread: please read EVERYTHING ,  everyone else can just skip to the Tl;dr below (even though I recommend the same thing)
Hey. I'll tell you my experience. And to answer your question: Yes, I was able to have a spontaneous A.P through practice during the day.

However, for my case, it's a bit different. daytime aside (I usually practice 2-4 times during the time), I practice whenever I wake up in the middle of the night. The spontaneous A.P I had I had at that time was when I fell asleep in the middle of one of my attempts. In a way, you can say that that was a technique it of itself, since some people first fall asleep for a bit, and than wake up in a vibrational state.

I would say that while I was probably able to have this experience because of my constant practice in the day, it's not something that will happen often unless I take the initiative.
That being said, There was a greater benefit to having this Spontaneous A.P experience. And it was the fact that it was an "experience". In the very beginning (myself included. I'm only about a month into this, and I am still working on a solid technique) the only thing that most inexperienced people are able to go by is theory. Since, usually, one has never Astral projected conciously, you would never know the feelings you get from getting from point A to point B. Even if you read about all the sensations, I don't think it will truly sink in unitl you have the experience itself. So that's what I think the benefit of a spontaneous projection is.

The way you worded everything seems like you've already given up on being able to astral project during the day time and are now just hoping to get luck with a spontaneous. being an avid user in a lucid dreaming forum, and browsing through threads on this forum, I can tell you right now that that way of thinking is the bane of most people being able to Astral project.

I don't believe anyone's inadequate in conscious projection. I think the issue lies with both technique and perspective. So, for what it's worth coming from a fellow newbie with some experience, I have some advice.

First is with technique: For practicing during the day, the main thing you should know how to do is meditate. The reason why you seem like it's impossible to have an OBE is because you are probably unable to reach that "trance" state that is pretty easy to hit while attempting at night.
Even though it might seem tedious, and even a waste of your time, I would suggest to practice meditation once for 10 days, or twice for 5 days.Even you want to practice meditation for more than 2 times in one day, make sure you keep it consistent for a at least 5 days. I don't want to make this posot really long by telling you a technique that works for me, but I will tell you that you should find a meditation technique that works with both quieting the mind and focus on one thing (say your breathing, or visualizing going down a ladder). If you do this for atleast 5 days, and separately from astral projection practice (the main goal is just to practice your body to get into a trance whenever you want during the day time.)
you should be able to see results and be able to notice shifts between your conciousness (like being able to notice when you're moving from alpha to theta brain waves.)
One more thing, in regards to technique: Consistency! It doesn't matter if you practice everyday, if you change up your technique all of the time without giving one a chance to prosper, you will never be able to progress on any of them. It's like being the jack of all trades, but in this case you just "know" of all the techniques, but not "good" in any of them.

The second thing is Perspective: I also saw this a lot with the people in the dreamviews forum. There always seemed to be a divided population of people in a forum such as this: The small minority of people who quickly learn how to project and post their experience and technique for others to learn from, and the MAJORITY of people who will go months and months (and even years!) trying, but not really going anywhere. It's a really unfortunate loop to get into. I now because I was in that loop during my lucid dreaming endeavors. And it just continues because the majority of people are on the same boat, and since you see more posts by people saying "still havent astral projected yet" or "maybe I'm just not cut out for A.P" it also brings your motivation down as well.
So that's why perspective is a REALLY BIG thing. I think there's 2 ways you can go about doing this (or you can do both for more effectiveness): 1, you can stop seeing yourself as the majority (those who are consistently not seeing any results) and start seeing yourself as the minority (those who look at each session as an experience with results. Those who learn from each experience). 2, To leave the forums all together and don't return until you have enough confidence in a particular technique and you'd gather experience and a foundation.
The first option works wonders. I started practicing astral projection a little under a month ago, and I was able to project (more or less) once. That was because I didn't beat myself up everytime I had an unsuccesful OBE attempt. Because even if I didnt AP, I worked with my focus, and I realized that I was able to focus more than my last session.
The second option is probably the best (But might be a bit hard for those who's been on the forums for a long time). I know that the people who post negative posts don't post it to bring others down (but instead post seeking answers). However, they are usually asking from a "I'm hopeless, this is impossible/hard for me" mindset. I know this for a fact that this also affects any newcomers, or anyone who's being trying to attempt OBE's without any real results. And from there, they kind of feed on eachother's failed attempt. I can tell you right now that if you go and read the recent forum posts, a good chunk of them are about how they've been trying this for a while without and results.
So I suggest to take a break from this forum (and mostly all astral projection related forums) until you gather up your confidence and foundations. It might seem hard, since it will feel like you're now doing this alone in the truest sense. But every coin has 2 sides: yes you'll be fully alone, but now you wont have others holding you back to your full potential. And plus I'm almost sure that you have enough information on the numerous amounts of techniques to get you Astral, so you arent clueless. Now it's time to get some experience! That's exactly what I did. Learning from my last my experience with forums (with lucid dreaming), I decided to first detach myself from this astralpulse community until I racked up some experience and wasn't pulled down by any limiting belief. Now, I can say with confidence that I will be able to Astral project in less than a few days (if not today) and I'll be able to do it at will, anytime during the day by the end of this week.
I know this is true, not because I consider myself a prodigy, but because I didn't hold myself down to limiting beliefs. Also because I only used other people's experience as reference, but ultimately put MY experience above all else.

I think I'll end the post here, since I don't want it to be any longer than it already is.

tl;dr

- Focus on meditation and being able to enter a trance
-Find a technique and stick with it for atleast 5 days
-Take a break from the forums until you've gathered enough experience/confidence on your belt to not be swayed by the limiting beliefs of others.

I know I didn't directly answer your question, but I think there is, at least, a little bit of value to my posts (and others, of course).
