Welcome to Dreams! / Lucid Dreams but trapped...
November 03, 2003, 00:08:49
>>> By example: next time you become lucid, where-ever you are, let yourself fall back and don't worry about hitting the ground...<<<

--this usually leads to a RTZ projection for me:)

why do it????(astral/ obe/ lucidity/ etc.)
--it is comforting to really KNOW that this physical world is such a small part of what's out there......
--communication and spending time with loved ones that are too far away physically......
--to see those places you never could afford to see, like the moon, etc.....
--messing with others who don't believe you (ie: finding things they hide and say "if you can do it, you'll be able to find this") and enjoying the looks on their face when you do find whatever they didn't think you would :)
--YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE!!!! i hated mine, now it is almost what i never thought it would be ;)
--it's fun to do......
--did i mention that your life will change?

Welcome to Dreams! / OBE or LD?

my vote goes for obe......the "water" referance is a great way to describe it too.

In order to give some help to the people in the chat, that never AP, i would like to make a simple questionary to the veterans in AP:

_ When and how it was your first OBE?

unknown...i had been doing it for quite some time and thought they were lucid dreams..then i looked into it and realized......at least 11 years ago though (obe...lucid for at least 14 years)

_ Wich kind of OBEdo you experiment more (remote view, lucid dreams, Astral proj, etc)?

i am almost always lucid....remote view (another recently learned thing i have been doing for awhile) about 2 times a week.....astral in rtz about once a week but used to be alot....astral into higher plane once or twice unintentionally

_ Wich is your percentage of sucess when trying to AP?

about 75%......usually from within lucid dream or remote view

_ How many times a week do you get out of your body?

once or twice unless you also mean lucidly....

_ How long it´s the average OBE?

between 1 and 20 or so minutes (it seems at least.....)

_ How long did you take until learn AP?

naturally occurs....only very recently actually "learned"

_ Wich techniques do you use most (specify if they are while awake or while sleeping)?

falling asleep concious......lucid dreams into rtz and back.....only awake ones (i ever tried) are remote views

_ Wich is the most relevant experience that you remember while AP?

meeting up with the one i was trying to meet up with ;)

_ ANy advices for begginers?

keep trying...it is sooooo worth....it really is a life changer

big time but don't have much time for it....used to have one of the mmost massive "classic" game collections too (ebayed it last year for 12k)  i love Halo and the older games that were repetitive and required skills and reflexes (centipede, gyruss...those kinds) also a huge MK player.....many lucid dreams have begun playing videogames (and entering them ;)

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Survey....
August 11, 2003, 00:51:45
I dug this topic up while avoiding the work i should be doing here at work...i know it's an old topic but i wasn't here when it was originally posted.......so i am resurrecting it for myself and anyone else who wants it.........

1. Are you male of female?
---Male
2. What race do you associate yourself with, if any?
---white (caucasian for the correct terminology i guess)
3. What is your favorite color?
---well, all of them....
4. Favorite type of music (and group if you have a specific favorite)?
---anything good, but currently "gothic metal" (orchestration and metal mixed...Within Temptation) and new age/ ambient
5. Favorite kind of films (ie. drama, action, documentary)? Do you have a specific favorite?
---stuff that gives me that "tingley feeling" and sci-fi (realistic ones)
6. Do you read often, sometimes or never?
---not nearly as often as i'd like to....i enjoy learning
7. If you enjoy reading, what kind of books do you like?
---anything that adds to the knowledge bank
8. Do you like television? Do you watch often?
---not really, if it's on i will watch and sometimes enjoy, but i rarely turn it on myself
9. How do you feel about the media?
---it sucks...they only let you know what they are told to let you know
10. Do you consider youself open minded?
---EXTREMELY
11. Are you an extrovert or an introvert? Neither?
---honestly, i haven't a clue what the terms mean
12. How do you feel about capitalism?
---it is fair but has it's problems
13. Do you feel racism is a big problem still?
---for me no.....alot of the ones who "have an agenda" seem to still try makinmg it an issue though
14. What is your favorite type of food (general, ie. Italian and/or specific, ie. lasagna)?
---Pepperoni Pizza and meduim rare filet mignon
15. Do you believe in God (ie. intelligent design of the universe)?
---there is definately ALOT more out there.....i do try to avoid "organised religion" though...i think spirituality is a very personal thing and wonderful now that i have "discovered it"
16. Do you believe in evolution?
---we are all evolving.....some of the theory makes total sense but there is sooo many "gaps" that it's hard to say we have a clue.
17. Do you enjoy watching sports?
---i very rarely will watch any sports...although i do enjoy a good game (i just won't be "rooting" for anyone specific)
18. How do you feel about homosexuality?
---not for me....but what someone else chooses is up to them and they shouldn't be criticised for their choices.....
19. Is society better today then 200 years ago?
---in many ways yes, although seeing society "expand and develope" sucks.....it seems like finding a nice quiet "natural" place is getting tougher everyday
20. If you had one wish, what would it be?
---it already came true....

Welcome to Dreams! / LD or Not?
July 21, 2003, 07:52:01
You are lucid when you realize within the dream that you are dreaming.....whether or not you choose to change things or not is a matter of personal preferance.....you can be lucid a little (knowing it is a dream but unable to change stuff) or you can be 100% and play "god" and do anything (or you can be 100% lucid but just explore without changing a thing)
#9
my longest i think was about an hour....i make up for that by having alot of them.... most are under 20 minutes
#10
personally, i seem to have a natural tendency to fall asleep fully concious but also i constantly do reality checks,  while awake, see if things change (signs or anything written especially) if you get in the "habit" of lookingat written things 2 or 3 times instead of once then it is only a matter of time when you will look at somehing, find that on the 3rd look it totally changed, and then realize you indeed are dreaming.....you will then most likely wake up from the excitement :)
other things that are easy to notice changes in are your hands and your own shadow (one of my first lucid dreams was started when i noticed my shadow moving for no reason)   when it does indeed happen for you it will be well worth the wait! ~good luck!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Screen Names
June 17, 2003, 01:26:52
mine is too easy and needs no explanation :)
#13
i find that if i try anything while someone else is in the bed (even my cats) that i am basically instantly shoved back into my body....naps alone are very successful though.....

what about sharing a bed with another who can project??? hmmmmmmm

#14
eating some perreroni's about 90 minutes before sleeping will sometimes make stuff a little more vivid and obvious that it's a dream
#15
i work in dental and ortho and can honestly tell you that most people (99%) grind their teeth at least a little when they sleep....it is only bad if it is very often (only about 20% of people)....most likely you just happened to be having a normal nitetime grind session at the same time you were astral or about to become astral.  you can get things to wear over your teeth as you sleep if it is a real problem and there is a company that sells do it yourself niteguards that are in most pharmacies (dr's niteguard)......i often will be lucid or obe and become aware of myself having a little grind...... if the pain is actually coming from where your lower jaw connects to your skull then you probably should get a type of niteguard called a TMJ splint..... if you were in central pennsylvania i would gladly hook you up with one.....otherwise, any dentist can get one made for you.... hope this helped
#16
for me sometimes i get to "anxious" or excited and lose the ability to do things that usually are pretty normal for me to do....one time it was the flying part (i kept landing flat on my face but after about 6 tries it worked) you'll get it back though.... it's like riding a bike, you'll always remember how to do it.....good luck
#17
for me it is just the opposite order....i usually go from RTZ into lucid dreams.....i go astral right away then wait around for the dreams to start still fully aware.....on rare occasions i have gone back to rtz too.....

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The Movie "the Ring"
June 01, 2003, 22:00:47
if you haven't seen "The Others" it is a really good one.....i loved the Ring (and the extra hour or so after the actual movie too)

Evil Dead and its sequals are fun movies too.....but not for those who dislike messy movie sets....

also see Dragonfly (excellent!!!)

DREAMSCAPE came out in the early 80's...it is completely about lucid dreams although i don't recall them mentioning the word lucid at all...
#20
i'd have my last Mt.Dew and pizza and Enjoy the future with someone special at a place i know beyond the Earth...........after all, the subject line only mentions the Earth doesn't it

Welcome to Dreams! / prolonging lucid dreams.
May 11, 2003, 22:26:53
the hands thing was the first technique i used years ago...also, pay attention to your own shadow, read everything you see (signs, clocks, ,etc.,) a few times (in waking life too...good reality check) i use the spinny thing every time i sleep and it works amazingly.....i actually tend to move faster than normal rather than slowly although in the RTZ i take my time....
#22
for me (i may have a natural ability at this) i use a combination of sleep deprivation, caffiene, and attention to details.....to eloborate, i try to only get around 2 hours of sleep a few times a day so that i don't go into "deep sleep"....the caffiene (besides helping me stay awake) keeps my mind very awake while my physical body is very tired.....as i go to sleep i just watch the closed eyes view....blackness,  colors, tunnel,  etc. then can kindof "feel" the moment i fall asleep (usually only about 2 minutes at most for me) then i just "get up" basically..... no "exit symptoms either"....i am then in the "realtime zone" and usually stay there for a few minutes then enter into a lucid dream (i guess i could enter elsewhere, but i personally enjoy the lucid dreaming aspect)  i have been doing this off and on for many years....
#23
i can't pick one....so just pick any of these...Armageddon, the Others, the ring, Hellraiser, Legend, Starship troopers "would you like to know more?", and Total Recall.....any one of those could be my favorite (probably Armageddon since i have seen that one the most...never get tired of the first minute.
#24
cool idea.....if a final idea is arrived at i would gladly put it on canvas for all to see (i usually do unusual locations in my art already) i have no online examples to share yet, but i rarely dissappoint ;)
