thank you for getting back to me, every since i first saw it there as been things that have been going on. i started to hear a voice that would just call my name every now and again usually when i was doing something at first it died down after a couple of years the voice was there every now and again, nothing too strange.. but here lately i felt a presence around me something not human i would look to the door way in the evening bright as it can be around mid day and would see a figure again, it was gone in a blink of an eye. another thing i have witnessed rather heard was something i call the "mimic voice". the voice would repeat things my parents would say when they got home such as "honey i am home" and "jonathan i am home, baby". on the first time the "honey i am home" i responded with "ok" thinking it was my mom then i heard our stairs creek like someone was walking up then.... i really do not know what to do. i have a bible, but i am worried it will just make this thing even madder...do you have any suggestion
Okay, I'm going to go ahead and list off some general things that are relatively well known to cleanse evil spirits from various different belief systems etc.
A lot of these you may heard of before, they're fairly common and relatively mild means. It's likely that one, a combination, or all of these will be effective; but I'd advise you to keep a notebook and keep track of any activity that might occur during or after practicing any one of them.

For cleansing a physical space (note that all of these should be done while saying or repeating a quiet prayer to whomever you believe):

Burning a sage smudge stick in every room of your house

Anointing each door and window post with holy oil or water (You can theoretically bless it yourself, but when you know you have a negative entity I personally think it's best not to chance it and just buy some from a local church, it's five dollars put to good use)

Sprinkling salt in the entrance ways of the house

Having a group of people pray for, or positively meditate towards your house

Setting religious motifs around the house

For cleansing yourself:

pray and be prayed over

Meditate and work on your energy, bringing yourself to a higher vibration makes it harder for lower vibrational entities to attach

Anoint yourself with the previously stated holy oil or water, or be anointed

Stop listening to negative music if it's been part of your lifestyle thus far, and put the entity out of your mind as much as possible, don't think about it. You want to give it as little of your time as possible, and make yourself so different from it that it's impossible for you both to coexist in the same space.

In my experience* the entity itself was attached to me, as it would follow me to places outside my home, however I was able to cleanse one room in my house with prayer, religious motifs, and anointing oil to create somewhat of a safe space for myself. I had tried on several occasions to cleanse the entire house, but for some reason, I was only successful with one room (my bedroom). Perhaps I was not powerful enough, or my intentions were truest in my own space, but I would suggest taking as much action as you can to at least make a single room safe. Though in my case, that was not to say that voices and manifestations would not occur outside the doorway in view or earshot.

If at any point the entity manifests while you're taking action to get rid of it, immediately stop and seek help from a Spiritual leader, as, while the reactions means you're effectively doing something that it doesn't like, if it's strong enough to manifest in that situation it's not something you should be handling alone.

Keep me posted, I'd like to hear what happens, and if you have any questions feel free to ask away either on here or by email :)

Let me tell you, I am incredibly jazzed right now because after a lifetime of passive attempts, and a solid three months of resource-devouring, daily meditation and energy work-ing active attempts, last night, I just had my first intentional projection from a lucid dream.
Yesterday I had created a sigil with the intention to lucid dream, and boy did I ever. After a mad flurry of eight or nine individual dreams last night, at least half of them lucid, I finally came to a place in one of my final dreams where I realized I was dreaming, but no matter how hard I tried, I was unable to manifest the vivid, crisp dreamscape detail that is usually present in my lucid dreams. Frustrated with this, I enacted something I'd read on this forum: that falling backwards in a dream could trigger a projection. And it worked! Contrary to what I expected though, instead of triggering a projection right from the dream, falling actually woke me up very slightly, to where I was pulled back to my physical body finding it right in the exact state where I could project. It happened very naturally with only minimal effort, and then I immediately found myself hovering at branch-level, facing a tree that was just outside my room in the dusk, which was about what time it was in reality.
I'll not go into too much detail as I'm sure most of you already know what astral projection feels like, I just wanted to share my happy success and report back on the falling backwards technique.

I wish you all well!

In short; No, this wasn't the ghost of your grandfather. A human spirit is most often unable to manifest itself so strongly as to create visual and sensual apparitions; also, negative entities are immediately recognizable in my experience, in that they immediately fill the room with a sense of fear, and from your description, it sounds like you know deep down that it isn't your grandfather. Trust your instincts.

I personally had an experience eerily similar to yours. My grandfather died when I was nine years old, and all throughout my childhood from that point on I had a negative entity which attached itself to me. It would not only, on several occasions, visually manifest itself, but also cause small objects to be thrown across the room or moved--sometimes in the presence of my entire (four person) family, and none of them denied it's existence. I mean I could go on for hours listing off all the ways this thing made itself known.
In my late teens, when I went through some of my grandfather's old drawers, I found a sketchbook with drawings of the same entity I'd been seeing. I cannot say for certain, but my theory is that, what happened was that it was passed on to me after he died. I was raised nondenominational Christian, and the pastors I spoke to about it referred to it as a 'generational curse'.
I cannot say that that's what happened to you, but if you really believe there is a connection between the entity and your grandfather's death, you may want to do a bit of research on what he was doing and experiencing before it.

My website is based almost entirely around phasing.  It's not just related to astral projection, it *IS* astral projection.  A wide variety of labels people like to use are astral projection, they just don't know it.

Feel free to peruse if you haven't already.  :)

Thank you for the links, I'm halfway through your book right now :)
I never realized how many experiences I thought were lucid dreams, would actually be considered projections! I am confused on one front however-- when you gain astral awareness in a 'dream', is the scene supposed to change to a more realistic (real-time) scenario, or are you just more aware within the confines of the same dreamscape?
Thus far I've read about planes, focuses, phases, and real time zones, but not really how to determine which I am in after projection, and how to shift between them.
I've heard of people laying cards out, or opening books to specific pages, and reading them while projecting as a test, does that mean your awareness is going outward within the real world, or simply staying within a place your mind has created and being able to know what those cards are saying with some clairvoyant ability?

Oh thank you, that is so helpful!
I'd heard the term phasing before, actually several weeks ago I spend quite a large chunk of time trying to research it on the internet without much avail-- What I'd gathered was that 'it's a thing that you can work on that is somehow related to astral projection, but nobody goes into detail on what it is, or how to do it'. Eventually I was lead to the Frank Kepple resource, but while interesting, it didn't seem like it fit with my experience thus far.

I infinitely appreciate the links :) I haven't read their entirety yet, but they look as though they'll be very helpful

On one particularly lengthy road trip in my mid-teens, it spontaneously occurred to me to try a 'visualization exercise' where I'd throw my point of awareness down each street we'd pass for a short amount of time before drawing it back. What I found was that I was able to see from the point of view which I willed my awareness to go, and not only that but the point of awareness itself had it's own body that, trifold, I could see through it's eyes, through my own open physical eyes, and just outside it so that I would be viewing it's body in the third person. I could feel the sensations of the wind on it's skin and the movement of the things it touched vividly, but I knew I was not astral projecting as I was not at all detached from my body. It wasn't until the car turned down one of the streets I had been 'etherically' (for lack of a better word) looking at to find that it physically looked exactly the same, that I realized I wasn't simply really good at imaginative visualization.

Ever since then, this is something I have been able to do at will, without meditation, without even closing my eyes. As simply as focusing my eyes from foreground to background. And yet, I have no idea what it is, how to more fully control it, and potentially, I'd really like to be able to astral project from this state if possible. Does anyone know of this, or have any experience with it?

A strange title, I know, but bear with me here.

While the reason a cat purrs, surprisingly, still remains largely a mystery to modern science, it is known that a cat will purr to lull a creature it perceives as a threat, as well as to itself when it is hurt or injured. I've read books including various studies on the effect hearing, or being in close proximity to, a cat purring has on humans; studies tend to find that hearing a cat's purr lowers blood pressure, reduces pain, and propagates overall feelings of relaxation and happiness.

On the more subjective, spiritual side of the matter; while it is well known that cats were spiritually sacred to the Egyptians, and cohorts 'witches', cats are also sometimes believed to protect their human partners in the astral realm. Cats 'sleep' 12-16 hours a day, but upon being monitored, it was found that less than half that time was spent during literal sleep, and largely their time was being spent in an intensely relaxed, yet alert, state-- personally, I find it to be more than just coincidence that what is often regarded as the most spiritual animal should spend so much time in a state that humans aim to project out of.

Regardless, I find that I fall into the trance state much more smoothly and quickly with a happy, purring cat curled up near (who am I kidding, on) my head. For those of you cat owners who haven't experimented with expanding your consciousness in the company of your furry, sharp little friends, I suggest you try a bit of trance meditation with and without the purring--make sure you pet them a bit first before delving in-- and see the difference.

I'd love to hear back on your thoughts and experiences!

I don't see colours either.  Perhaps, instead of colours, you use "other" ways of seeing... like perhaps, density?  I've noticed that's how I see things instead of in colour.  I'll see an area that looks more dense compared to the rest of it.  It's all unique and individual to you, so who knows.  :)
Wow, I'd never thought about it like that before, I think that might be it! I've read about auric vision being able to determine spiritual and physical ailments/blockages, in your experience, does the denser matter denote something negative, or something positive?
I have noticed every so often that the shape and density of an aura changes in certain situations, for example, I play the keyboard in a church band, and when I look out at the auras of the congregation, I can see that there is a less dense- less dense than the surrounding environment itself- area in their auras which extends from the center of the scalp, or crown of the head, up, in a cylindrical shape that expands outward the closer to the parameter to the auric shell it is. It does not extend past the auric shell itself. Have you ever seen anything like that, do you know what it means?

Thanks so much, that makes a lot more sense.
In books it seems so often the authors boast about auras as being 'so beautiful, and vividly bright and colorful' all the time, it gets confusing. I appreciate you clearing that up.

Hi there,
I've always been able to see the existence of auras, but to me they appear not as colorful surroundings that I can 'read', but rather I can see them based on how they effect the way the environment looks. I see that they have many layers, which are distinct but meld into each other, but the way they actually look I'd describe more in terms of 'noise' (The kind of noise that is on 'fuzzy' tv channels, if you do graphic design, you know what kind of noise I'm talking about) and the layers are dictated by the density of the particles.
I really quickly sketched what I'm talking about around a terribly mouse-drawn hand in a photo editing program, just so it makes a bit more sense.

Sometimes the outer band has a tiny bit of color, but it's not that I'm seeing any color, it's just the idea of color that I'm perceiving.
Does anyone else see them this way? How can I view them in color?
