Quote from: Xanth on January 18, 2025, 14:08:47Are you lying down when you're doing this?
If you're "relaxing", then I'd suggest that's just the sensation of your physical body starting the "falling asleep" process.  Your muscles are relaxing, especially your chest and you're feeling the pull of gravity as you "let go".

I'm lying on my back. The pressure causes a sort of numbing effect in my chest. Perhaps I'm more aware of it because I'm conscious of it?

Quote from: Lumaza on January 18, 2025, 16:08:57I see this as being one of your first "fear tests". They show up in strange ways to test "how far you are willing to go". I start all my practice sessions by mentally saying, "by my act of will I release my focus over my physical body". My body will then become an afterthought, and then I can give my complete focus on what lies ahead. When I was new to this, I had a number of different hurdles to jump before I became a welcomed visitor. I made a thread here called "Exit Symptoms/Signposts". It can be found here:
https://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome-to-out-of-body-experiences!/exit-symptomssignposts/

The fact that it aligns with a chakra shows you that, as EV said, there is some kind of work to do there.

I use Robert's NEW often. He actually created a NEW 2 version, before he passed on. I find it a great way to defer pain. It is also a great tool to use to test, strengthen and learn to hold your focus on "only" what you are doing, unabated, for a good period of time. Everything else disappears. Many times, while doing this, the "shift" in consciousness has already occurred.

Could there be subconscious fear in my case? Absolutely. But I'm not convinced yet that this is a "fear test" quite yet. My focus has been the rising and falling of my chest between breaths. AKA me being more aware of my physical movements during the relaxation stage could be pooling the energy into the heart center. Or so that's my current theory

Quote from: Vyapini on January 18, 2025, 11:23:31The heart chakra can become quite active during astral projection and cause symptoms of "chest pressure". That is normal.. I would suggest that if you are worried up about the chest pressure to stand up out of bed... if the chest pressure immediately goes away you do not have anything to worry about... looks like you are heading in the right direction

It doesn't hurt so I'm not worried about it right now? I wasn't sure if this was a common exit symptom for OBEs or not. Thanks for the ideas!

I finally decided to start working on Robert Bruce's "Mastering Astral Projection" book which is the 90-day program. Difficult stuff to keep up with but I'm having more experiences than ever before. Anyway, sometime between Week 2 - 3 of the exercises I've begun feeling a strong chest pressure during breath work while my body is relaxed. I don't believe that I'm in sleep paralysis because I feel like I can move and break out of this stage at any time. But it occurs shortly after relaxation while lying on my back. The energy bouncing technique isn't getting rid of it - which makes me think this is part of APing process - but it's not clearly listed as a side effect by the author...

So I wanted to ask anyone with better AP experience: is this common? And should I be doing something different to avoid this? Or just keep working through it?? Thanks all.

Alan Moore's discussion about what magic is. I'm aware that magic =/= spirituality but I feel that there's great spiritual advice hidden in here.

The perception of karma through the Western paradigm is problematic. It attempts to rationalize death, poverty, disease, sexism, racism, etc.. Additionally, many people believe that karmic justice is served by a greater power than oneself. This sometimes results in people not taking action because they pass on the responsibility of karma to someone else rather than just doing something about it. I opt to believe in "cause and effect" rather than "karma". I just can't rationalize that we must suffer now to obtain a greater life in the next reincarnation cycle. Just my two cents :-P

Thank you all for your wonderful replies! So then I should just not think of anything correct? I will attempt this and post results if they succeed.

Another question: what should I do in the event that my heart rate goes up / increases? Should I stop the attempt? When this occurs, it's hard to stay still and to breathe slowly. I used to have these side effects right after the vibratory stage but it hasn't happened in awhile. Anyhow, just asking out of curiosity.

Have you tried any methods to exit while the vibes are active?

I've tried the rope technique, rolling sideways, and falling backwards with no success. Also tried phasing to some degree with no success. I get all the exit signs but I can't get out. :/

I used to have this problem so maybe this will help: there are two ways of seeing one's aura. You can either see it with your actual eyes or you see them in your mind.

With your actual eyes, 99% of the time you will see distorted air or "colorless" aura-like energy.
With your minds eye (AKA imagination or thoughts), tell me what's the first thing that comes to mind? Is it a color? A shape?

Not all aura readers see auras in color all of the time. Sometimes, you can see the texture or maybe the density of the aura. You'll learn that there isn't really a clear way to read auras. You can "feel" out someone's aura (or your own) if you're an empath. Otherwise, do exercises where you place an object in front of a white surface (like a wall or a piece of white paper) and try to "see" the color in your mind instead of your actual eyes. Overtime, you'll get results through practice and patience.

Hello everyone! Bare with me since I'm new to the forum but not new to the idea of astral projection. I searched for other threads like this but couldn't find any that exactly "matched" this so called problem. So any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

My question: What do I do after I reach the vibratory state?

Anyhow...on my own, I can lower my heart rate and enter the vibratory state within minutes. Controlled breathing has helps me but it's what after the vibratory state is what messes me up. I read that you must ignore the sensations so I do. When this happens, I'll either get: (1) increased heart rate and shortness of breath or (2) I remain in the vibratory state for over an hour with nothing changing. Sometimes my muscles will twitch on their own which breaks me out of the state but I can quickly return to it when that happens.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! I've only experienced APing about two or three times accidentally...so if any of you can help me achieve this, you'll have my eternal gratitude!
