I've always thought of space as a circular 3 dimensional spiral, and if you could punch your way out of the spiral, the entire universe would be destroyed.

An interesting thing about that every 3600 years thing is if you look at the boring parts of the Bible where someone begat someone and make a chart of it, you'll see that the flood happened about 4000 years ago.
