Those who practice REAL Wicca (or anything else), truely KNOW Wicca (or anything else), all the money making fads can never diminish its underlying essential truth. The frauds, fadists, and immitators are always exposed when the truth of the true practioner is made known!

Well to some extent we do .....live in an American society that worships the money god of the golden calf! The cathedral of this god is called the shopping mall. Where young people buy the latest shiney or 'in' thing, their bodies adorned by the latest icon of 'must have' objects. A nation of sheep??? perhaps....lead by the priests of advertising and motivatied by greed, quests for superiority, status, and power over others.

Education and spirituality make available the hard struggle of an alternative path. Yet when one has made a portion of that journey, and feels the urge to communicate it to others, one is indeed challenged by the problem of HOW to get the message out.

A major risk in getting the message out is that "...they are doing everyone an injustice by taking something sacred and making it secular and mainstream." as  EnderWiggin sucinctly stated the problem.

I too enjoy watching the Discovery channels, but some other networks which have this kind of programing are; Bravo, Trio, World Link TV, History and History International, Science, and Independent Film Channel. I get all the above on a satellite tv system through the "Direct TV" company.

I'm also in agreement when you said;

I am familiar with Robert Bruce's early work, I am a close follower of the work of Charles Tart, I'm a member of IANDS, and a long time subscriber to the Journal of Near Death Studies. These are all mechanisms which connect spirituality with science.

As a mechanism that provides "..a path to the masses" Mastery TV sends its signal through the internet, and promises to give you a little money for referring subscribers.  My experience with the "group huggers" (as you called them....'Word of warning, transducer, quite a few of us here don't trust the "group huggers') is that they constantly remind people about DISCRIMINATION and about EMPOWERMENT.
  When you write ("I may not have the capacity to create like I used to just yet, but my identity is becoming more and more intact, maybe that's all I really need right now.") and when EnderWiggin writes ("You want the answers? Better look within yourself.") I see EMPOWERMENT emerging as the "group huggers" have spoken about it.... in their vague and philosophical way.

TO All:
  Would it make sense to produce a TV show, or a TV series, or a TV sit-com that explores and teaches those methods and techniques of psychic self-defense, that have a demonstrated record of effectiveness?

    I think Mastery TV in the worst case situation would be about as effective at producing a sheep mentality as CBS is, and about as feasable.
    I agree with you when you say "You want the answers? Better look within yourself." Anyone who looks to TV for answers is on a fools' path.

  I do spend alot of time with people who are desperate and unsure. I do not agree that assuming a context (or assuming anything for that matter) is an 'excellent' tactic.

  I think however your comments probably relate back to my paragraph where I said "when people 'just eat and sleep.' they often smell bad.... " If that is the case, then what is the context for your prior comment ("There's barely even ego left. Only energy to work, sometimes eat and sleep. Self is just about gone.")?

 You may be right is saying that I "grossly underestimated just how far gone" this group is. Too them, I say please practice discrimination; and ignore what could be yet another opportunity for hopes and dreams to be crushed.

 When people "just eat and sleep." they often smell bad from not bathing, their residence has stuff scatered all over the floors and furnature, they may have a little animal running about (their only source of love), that is aggressive and fearful of visitors. They are dependent on others. Their imaginations are filled with strange otherworldly talk, distortions of mundane, family, and large metaphysical ideas. They "live in a swamp and are 5 dimentional."

  The possibility of Mastery TV (and this very forum) is to take a step-out, a step toward greater participation, in the larger society... via the energy transducing influences of a group hugging, OBE discussing, "Mastery TV."

   My view is that people learn through painful experience not to trust, not to take chances, to be suspecious, to be afraid, to be alone. There are con men/women everywhere, even among the group huggers. Never blindly trust. "Practice discrimination" the group huggers say!
   A problem, in my view, is to wall oneself off into an imaginary world created by ego, and to "live in a swamp and be 5 dimentional." The possibility of Mastery TV, and this very forum, is to take a step-out, a step toward greater participation, a step toward the masses.

I am "convinced" by reading and other experiences that I do indeed survive bodily death. However I am limited by my education to a Newtonian / Einstein "reality." Hence my interest / lay explorations into more modern theories of physics, in an effort to find "proof" of what I'm already "convinced" of.

Thank you for the very warm welcome. My academic knowledge of physics is fairly limited, but I'll make an effort to keep up, and to share what I've learned from channeled/new age sources (please treat this as hopefully interesting hear-say or as opinion) and the NDE research (http://www.near-death.com/  http://www.iands.org/journal.html).

I operate from a model that "13" referred to as "...ancient metaphysics stating there are 7 higher "planes" apart from the physical..." Second I take it as given that there is a part of ourselves that survives bodily death...i.e. all the NDE stuff about leaving the body, seeing it from a height, tunnels, white lights, and etc. is reflective of some reality external to the body and our 5 senses. It is NOT some artifact of a dying brain or similar hypothesis. Third, my guess is that the part of our physical self that reports these NDE's is 4D matter during the NDE itself. Fourth our current physical experience is consequent to a cooperative and intentional enterprise between 4D and 3D matter.

Time is a topic I struggle with. Linear time, changes in the rate of time (duration between 3D events), simultaniousness. I'm told that when people leave their bodies (i.e. their 4D part) and pass through the tunnel, that their energy is increased. Their energy is increased to a point that 3D perceptions of time "straighten-out" to what is percieved (by the 4D observer) as a sequential series of events (a "timeline"). While in this 4D domain (i.e. Astral Plane), one can move along this timeline a little forward a little backward, and effectively select a point, i.e. a moment, to lower one's energy down to a 3D level and then to "return" or otherwise interact here on this Physical Plane. From the Astral Plane many "timelines" are perceived.

In this approach the shape and multiplicity of universe(s) is ignored. What is postulated are energy or vibrational differences between Planes of existence, with each Plane creating a domain in which objects of different numbers of dimensions exist.

I've enjoyed the depth and seriousness of this and the other threads in "Quantum Metaphysics." I have been posting at a new age site (http://www.lightworker.com) and have been wanting a discussion that is more academic and less focused on participants' emotional struggles.

I was pleasently suprised to read Adrain's reference to Physical, Astral, and Mental Planes. This language immediately brought to mind the cosmology in the Michael Teaching (http://www.michaelteachings.com/advanced_topics_index.html), with which I am intimately familiar. JoWo's description of attempting to imagine a 4D object from 3D observations brought to mind my rewarding struggle with Rudy Rucker's book "Flatland."

"Greytraveller" said "one result of MWI has been to nudge the scientific and spiritual/esoteric/metaphysic communities closer together." I think that is a very worthy goal, and I would like to be a part of bringing it about. As a part-time member of a "spiritual/esoteric/metaphysic community," I'm taking a shot at joining Astral Pulse and participating here.
