Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Eyes open
February 22, 2004, 22:51:23
Hi,
I've searched for this topic, but did not find anything pertinent.
I'm fairly new to this (OBE), but seem to reach the 'vibration state' (quotes mine) fairly easily.  However, I always seem to fall asleep at this point because I cannot see anything.

Question: at what point do your eyes open -when do you start to see this spiritual world??
Thanks!

Does anyone here have any experience with Shamanism?

Thanks for responding!
No, it definitely feels as if I was floating up and past (what I perceived, as my eyes were closed) the upper part of my physical body.  That's what excites me, and I start to 'snap out' of it.
However, I can't 'see' anything, so I questioned any validity of it...

Yeah, I know what you mean about the physical eyes.  ; )

I have felt a sensation of 'floating' upwards, which I perceived to be the loosening (OBE).  However, the strangeness of it catches me off guard and I return.  It was as if I was floating up through black/greyness.  I was just wondering if I should be visually seeing something...<?>

Is this basically the last hurdle to get through??

If you really look at it from an educated, and objective point of view (extremely hard to do if you've been brought up in a particular religion, IMHO -trust me...I was there!!!), you will see various connections between Christianity and other religions of the time of Christ.  Unfortunately, I think that so much time has passed that people DO NOT really know the roots of what they are worshipping, no matter what they think.
It seems to be alluded to here, but I would recommend taking a look at the website <www.ffrf.org>..

I have tried OOB, but I guess not enough.  What is the best resource for learning?
I've had lucid dreams before...

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Ku Klux Klan

To me, the KKK brings visions of the Bible and Old Testament 'heroes'.

[:(!] What am I talking about? [?]

I am talking about how the Bible states that the god of the Old Testament instructed his chosen to kill numerous people and even entire races (genocide).  One example is the numerous clans/nations that god commanded to be destroyed when entering Canaan....

Well, to be honest and blunt, I have been extremely UNimpressed with the various religions of the world. [:(!]
Shamanism (and its 'cousins')appears to be pro-humanity, and a non-religious way to explore the facets of your being.

I fully understand that things evolve -things that don't work, go away.  Things that do work, get improved upon.  Saying that, I'm interested in something that works, not just because it may be traditional.

You are using logic...  [;)]
To me, logic and religion are like oil and water...

I've heard it said that everyone is an atheist, in one form or another.

A Christian rejects every god except one (or three -depends on how you look at it   [^], but let's keep it simple and say 'one')

...the atheist simply believes in one less god than that...
