Could people tell me their most effective ways of getting into a trance?  I tried the ones in the treatise but they aren't my forte.  The ones in the treatise were the "going down the ladder," "floating down like a feather," and "going down an elevator" techniques.  Thanks.

I've been conciousley trying to project for 3 days now and have made 5 attempts.  First, I'll explain my methods:

1. I do the relaxtion excercises where I tense all my muscles.  Seems to work.  I've never really had problems with being relaxed and the first 2 times i tried to project I didn't even do the relaxation excercies and it made no difference.

2. I do the Chakra energy raising.  This is starting to work on myself better and better everytime I do it.  Very pleasing to do as well.  By the time I'm raising energy to my solar plexus chakra, the rining in my ears is immense.

3. I try out different things to get into a trance such as breathing excercises, clearing my mind and the rope method to get into trance but they never work.  What usually happens is my mind gets bored or I just try to wait it out and I start having half-dreams where my mind is amusing me.  The moment I get into trance tho, I become alert again.  I don't know how i programmed myself to do this, bu it happens automatically every time.

4.  Once in trance I try to project.  Here is what happened each time.

#1 - This was the deepest trance I had gotten into, I was fully paralysed.  Once I started getting vibrations through me and was about to try some excercises to get out.  I heard my name being said by one of my friends so I naturally thought they were in my room.  I stopped, and got out of paralysis in a second (I have much experience in getting out of paralysis) only to find that (obviously) no one was in my room.

#2 - I had a weak trance but still tried.  I felt a huge force pushing from where my brow chakra from inside my head out.  It felt as if a horn was starting to grow from the point and was just about to come out.  It was kind of uncomfortable and I dind't get anywhere for what seemed like a long time so I stopped.

#3 - A moderate trance this time.  I started doing the rope to get out and heard another voice, this time a different one of my friends, calling my name again.  By the time this voice sounded,  I had attained (or so I think) the starting of my astral vision.  I could see my ceiling up from my body (since I try to project back-down on my bed).  The voice was coming from my left side of my bed but I couldn't turn my vision to see it.  I had a bad feeling about it and this disturbing feeling that I used to get whenever strange forces would come into me earlier in the year (more about this later).  I smiled, and I don't know if I did this physically or with my etheric body because I always like to face things that scare/challenge me and see what they are.  After I did this, I lost my trance.

#4 - I tried to get into trance manually this time using the rope method.  Got into a low trance after a while but I'm not sure if I did it manually anymore.  Since it was a weak trance (I had may distractions during it as well),  I didn't project.

#5 - I just did this one an hour ago.  Was anohter weak trance.  Tried the rope method and then the Yo-Yo method (very briefly) and I can't remember much.

--------
All 5 of these times I've felt VERY drained physically and sometimes mentally.

A note on my past experiences I mentioned earlier:  About a year ago I started meditating. When I was just lying in bed or trying to go to sleep I would sometimes hear some normal sound or see something floating in the air and become very very distubred by it.  It wasn't that I was disturbed by the object/sound but it was just a feeling that I got right away.  Shortly after this, what I could only call a force or vibration would start pushing on me from the outside of my body to the inside, from all angles at once.  Every time I would hear voices accompanied by it.  The first time I started visualising a bubble of white light surroundding me and I heard a very load groan from a male and then the force/vibration stopped.  The second time I tried to feel what it was, my fear of it having passed.  Every time a wave of the force/vibration would occur, I woudl try to feel it and go at it full force mentally.  This caused it to stop and I heard a squeeky voice talking madly.  The third time A woman started screaching at me as it happened and I could feel myself slide off the bed and start running down the stairs that lead to my bedroom(It was very clear).  As soon as I realised I couldn't feel the ground beneath my feet, I snapped back into lying in my bed, everything had stopped.

---------

What I'm wondering now is this.  Is there a negative entity leaching energy off me?  Am I getting creeped out by a certain stage when I OBE?  I feel a very strong *presence* of something whenever I get this disturbed feeling.  I consider myself a very strong person mentally and willfully and while I might get scared for a bit, my curiosity and logic usually overcome the fear shortly after.  If anyone could give me some information or similair experiences; anything, it would help me out a lot.  Thanks.

(On another note:  I'm gonna try projecting again tonight.  This time I'm going to call on an angel to protect me while I'm doing it.)

I don't know if it's already around, but I think having a place to post a continous journal of people's experiences and findings would be a good idea.  I've looked around the website and haven't found anything like it.  While this forum is like it, topics slide into obscurity pretty fast and the older ones will not be noticed.  What I propose is a section where people can upload/update/edit journals.  They could be organised by person and/or type of experience and of course, chronologically.

Posting journals like this would help out a lot of people like these forums do.  Not only would you help others by sharing your problems/findings/revelations with others who might be having them but I'm sure other experienced readers could give you pointers as well.

The only things that I think should be required is that the journals stay relevant to their topic, remain clear grammatically and otherwise, have reasonable spelling, and stay organised.  This is so that they are easily browsable, skimmable and readable.  A good example are the training articles on astralpulse.com's page.

I'm not sure if the owner(s) of this site would want to do this sort of section but I'd be willing to help if it would be possible.  If not, I could host people's journals on my computer.  Only problem is that it's only up maybe half the time and there would be no automatic way to update your journals (meaning you would hvae to email them to me or upload them via ftp).

Give me your thoughts on this. [^]

I remember for the longest time whenever I would sit there or recently when I have started meditating a buzzing noise would come into being.  I can make it get louder or quieter at will now as well.  I'm just wondering what it is because I saw on a webpage that it was the natural noise of your body but I can't find anymore on the subject.  I don't know where this pertains to, but teh page i saw referencing it was an OBE page so I'm posting it here.  Could someone give me some information on it?

Also, lately, I've been noticing that whenever I work with it, it starts seeming like its not a noise at all, but something that could be picked up by a different sense.  Could be that I'm just becoming used to it but it's more like a I feel it vibrating now instead of hearing the high pitch buzzing of it.

It's supposedly the sound of the energy collected in your chakras.  I hear it anytime I want to but it's very obvious when your manipulating your energy especially during chakra energy raising.  It becomes very loud when you are about to OBE.

If you read the NEW: New Energy Ways training guide you will see a mention that pushing yourself too far with energy work (powering your etheric body) can cause physical fatigue, depression, ill feeling etc.

I notice that when I try too hard to OBE sometimes that I feel VERY fatigued when I fail and give up after an hour.  The key is to be persistent but not pushing yourself; as always, an equilibrium must be reached.

Thanks everyone. If you don't see a technique you use here, please post it.  I wanna try every technique thats works for other people.  Would help a lot of people for sure [^].

Make sure the upper side of your tongue is moderatly dry (lacking of excess saliva instead) for your mouth.  Then press 1/3 of the front of your tongue on the top of your mouth. Then just make sure the saliva stays below your tongue.  A comfortable position for the tongue to do this is easy to find.

It's been proven a bunch of times at least.  But people don't care, they rather watch their soaps or whatever.

I'm having a very hard time getting into a trance.  Could everybody whos experienced with projecting tell me their method of getting into a trance?  I've read the ones on the treatise on OBE but they'r not working for me very well.  I've got every other step except how to get into a trance down pretty well and it seems like I have to get into a trance by "accident" to get anywhere. Thanks.

I find it very disheartening when I see peolpe talking about politics.  Some people say they want to see Osama dead, some people say they are behind him.  Are they really different people? Or just the same people with different *blind* viewpoints?  The matter of the fact is that none of us know who attacked the WTC or why the US attacked Iraq.  And please, befor you start quoting the news, remember, they are just the news, controlled by another corporation. I mean, even the news the news companies get is usually from the officials... Is it that hard to make something up and put it on paper?

When people stop believing in something so much, they usually see that they actually know nothing and that judgement should be left alone for higher powers.  I'm not saying action shouldn't be taken, but rash and illogical action is not the answer.

War on terrrorism? Does that sound logical? I don't even know where to start.

The whole point here is that the powers of the world are always playing games we cannot see.  Stop fretting about them and live as free a life as you can.  Train yourself for the future an care about whats imporant, not what the media says.  I'm sure that time in astral realms and different forms of conciousness will soon lead to what's really important.  Keep your focus.

Good advice shaman.  Last night I'm 99% sure I had either an OOBE or an Astral Projection.  I started with my usualy routine and asked for angels to come and protect me.  I tried for about an hour doing different excercies (plus some new ones I made up) but disturbances from my house and around it made it very hard.  I gave up and tried again an hour later but to no avail.  After that I had a very hard time sleeping mainly due to having a downer for a day and seeing no progress with projection excercises.  I became very doubtful of my abilities and how slow progress was going in everything in my life.  After sorting this stuff out (You have to re-assure yourself every once in a while) I just tried to sleep.

When I was lying on my side (which now reminds me, I was lying on my side on my first projection attempt; see above post) and these very strong vibes starting going through me.  The loud pitch from chakra energy was ringing through my head and was about 10 times more intensified then it usually is.  Soon I could feel my conciousness becoming different.  Here comes the hard part; because it all happened so fast I can't remember exactly how the steps happened but soon I could feel myself floating backwards from my body.  As soon as this happened I flung myself (in direction unkown) out of my house.  Very great feeling, just floating around.  I hadn't gained any sight yet, probably because I had exited so fast, but when I did I was flying through the night.  I started leaping through the air and over water.  The notion of gravity was still strong so I had to make giant leaps through the air and soon I stopped at a small park.

At the park I started looking around and trying to intensify my enrgies so I could see everything clearly since my sight was very blurry and dark.  I could see a small monument in front of me and here's the part that kinda convinces me it was an astral projection rather than an OOBE.  I jumped straight in the air a couple of feet and landed, making myself cause a shockwave from under my feet to the monument in front of me.  I don't know exactly why I did it, but it seemed like a cool thing to do at the time since I was having so much fun.  I saw the shockwave go through to the base of the monument but nothing happened when it reached there, nor did it leave a trace on the path there.

The park started to look very lonely soon and I looked towards the city which is strange since I knew where the direction the city was but didn't know where I was.  I saw the downtown city lights and started jumping towards it.  I had a much harder time doing it this time and tried some "Superman" moves to see if I could just fly straight there.  I was at the edge of the park very close to the tree (whose leaves I can still remember distincly; very much the same as some trees around my city of Victoria, BC) when I started thinking of my other body asleep and how I wasn't really breathing and not burdened by weight but just by thought.  That's the last thing I saw, and I soon found myself on my bed.

I wasn't dazed or drained and I had none of the "dream feeling" you get when you just come out of a dream.  It was a great experience although a very short one.  I hadn't known what time I had gone into it but it seemed liek it all lasted about 30-45 seconds since the time I exited my body.  I'm going to check some maps around the area soon since I can't recall a park like that but it could be that I was in a different city altogether since I had been floating very fast in some direction before I gained my vision.

Thanks for all the people who've been givin me advice and thanks to Robert Bruce for writing the treatise on Astral projecting.

I'm curious at your' uses of "Warrior."
Do you guys use the term as a protector class in the astral which is the most popular meaning of the word?
As an elite individual with strong skills?
As a person who accepts responsibility for their actions which is the native meaning of the word?

Pretty cool place.  Too bad most of the journals are so low-quality though.  A whole slew of them are just net-diaries as well.  Well, that's what happens when ya have an automated system and let anyone in, even if they haven't written a first entry to their journal.

Well, when ya wanna keep your experiences personal, a notebook is good but if you want to share, it would have to be done online.  I just see lots of confusion with people trying to project (including me) and I know that they would always gleam some helpful information whether it be pertaining to doubts, expectations, etc. and searching the forums isn't too efficient not to mention quite draining.

Which stage am I getting to?  Is there a name for it?

I've searched for a while but it's hard to get a firm grasp of where I am at.  I can get to a point where I feel dizzy/lightheaded/energised.  I don't really know how to describe it.  I try to use the "Body asleep, mind awake" but this is confusing.  Thanks for the help by the way.

Good idea, but when I listened to it long enough it felt like a continuous frequency instead of different signals.  Sounded and felt very uniform.
#18
Looks like I'll have to try to find a way to get past that last step.  I have, ahem, strange occurences that happen when I'm lying face up or meditating but I can never really get into them willfully.

I just tried it using the full procedures (I made a pendulum out of a chest knob and a piece of string).  The pendulum moves the opposite way of yours as in "yes" is back and forth while "no" is left to right.  After figuring that out, I tried to ask it simple questions like "is there a seed in front of me?" while having the seed be there and not there and it would be accurate.  Then I needed a question I ddin't know the answer to, so I would flip a coin behind me and ask "Is the coin behind me heads up?".  Out of 5 times I tried it, 4 of them it was correct.  The incorrect one was the third one and I noticed that I hadn't given it enough time (My arm was shaky from giddyness too =)).  But thanks for the method, I'll keep trying it and practicing my skill at a steady hand and patience which are probably some of the most important things to having a correct read-out.

If you want some music that works in the same way, but that isn't gospel you might wanna try out the artist called "K-os".  He does hip hop music but it's very different from most of the hip hop you'll hear today and definatly better (and not trendy, rude, mindless) as the music you will see on television.  His melodies are beautiful and his lyrics have been seen as poetry by everyone who will actually listen to them (but even if you don't, it's still very good).  You can download his music easily off Kazaa or other similair programs but I'm sure you'll like it so much that you'll want to buy his album which, in my opinion, is one of the best albums made yet (all good songs and good fluidity, etc.).
