as long as you keep your reality checks going constantly... after a couple of weeks you'll just slip in to the lucid dreaming mind... you also should keep a dream journal. since i stopped keeping a dream journal i havent had a lucid dream in 2 years
#2
good to hear you have a plan..

the circle is merely a spawn point for the NPCs... so once ya kill an NPC it resets and pumps out another one.

is there a certain program you're using? i was thinking about changing from BYOND to a stand alone application... but didnt know of a good system.
#3
im just guessing that you are doing the pixel art in 32x32 pixel tiles... or similar... i just suggest that for the turf you also do corner pieces that curve around.. i too make games in a similar way and it really makes a difference..

also.. tone down the colours a little... something a little more tame and easy on the eyes will improve it greatly..
if you need a hand with a couple of cells feel free to ask.. i might be able to help out

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: my first lucid dream
April 29, 2007, 22:23:59
congrats on your first lucid.
sounds like my first one.. just dong something weird and thinkin... 'waaiit a minute.....'

the more you do it the easier it will be to stay in and stay in control. many people will probably also say to do energy work before sleep.... but i personally don't see a difference in lucid dreams.

you just have to learn how long to stay focussed on one thing.. you can also call for my clarity when you feel you're losing it... simply by shouting as loud as you can "MORE CLARITY!" or "MORE ENERGY".. whatever you want really. it also helps to have a goal for your next LD... that way you dont just waste time flying around or summoning pretty girls... unless thats your goal of course haha.
but having something to do can keep you on track and keep your mind lucid.

in the end though it's best to take little from everyone else and do your best at finding your own way... no two people are the same in this area, so find what works best for you.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Re: Quantum Children
March 23, 2007, 13:28:00
I turned 20 on the 11 of march.

From what I have read, this means the rate of Indigo Children born around my time was at about 20% which is rather interesting, because I can see that trend in my friends.

I have heard of that movie and wouldn't mind seeing it, of course not for the theatrics but more so the information I could get.

I also find that the lower age groups at the moment at these sorts of sites seem to be highly influenced from 'pop culture', cartoons, phoney witchcraft and such. This makes it awfully hard to find true experience and knowledge at the moment.

I have a feeling that will all change fairly soon though.

I have been around this site for a number of years, since Robert Bruce was trolling the forums hehe.

Yeah that's what I figured she was talking about. Just curious bout the term Quantum Children though.
perhaps it's the same thing, perhaps not.

would still like to know if anyones heard of them

[edit] after reading more on the Indigo theory I'd say that is what she meant, possibly just channelled a different term

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Quantum Children
March 21, 2007, 13:46:28
My mother went to a psychic about ten years ago now. Everything she said would happen either has, or was said to be further in the future. The only problem was that she was off on the years by about 4 years.

One thing she said was that my sister and I are Quantum Children... Children from Atlantis... Far leapt in to the future to help "save the world"

It was the only bit that seemed a bit out there, as everything else, as i said, has appeared to be true. and in great detail too.
one of the major things said was that a greying business man will move in for 2 DAYS.. and never leave.. in the long run he will take my mum for half of everything she owns... that happened two years ago. down to the letter
everything else said about me that was meant to happen up to this date has been spot on too, from designing computer games and hacking to my... way with girls.. and my tendency to sleep around..

So... to me that gives some credibility to this Quantum Child theory, but I know nothing about them. All i know is that back then she told my mum that I was a child of the New Age and had more technology in my soul than they could both ever imagine. (this was six years before i even knew the word new age.. and i only heard this session a few months ago)

Any information about the beings from Atlantis and the Quantum Children would be really really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

those kids aren't here to cause this negative energy you speak of. they are generally just missinformed.
a lot actually believe it is possible to create "ki balls" and move furniture with ones mind.

so dont outcast them... educate them.

if you always just send these teenagers away because they dont know how it really goes and they have all these outrageous expectations.. they'll never know the truth.. and probably stumble across a negative site like mysticweb... or psipog... that can be either damaging or just misleading.

good to see ill be acceptable to you in a few months when im no longer a "teenager".. even though im sure i've had more life experience than most adults i know of.
i think we all just need to be a little more accepting and patient with people.

hostility doesnt breed harmony
#10
id prolly agree there are a lot of teenage guys here.. but not so much cause they have no social life.. they're most likely here cause this stuff is 'cool' to quite a few that age.. it was that way for me a couple years ago

teenagers are able to work the internet in to their social life. the middle aged people i know either are on the net VERY little n have a more active social life. or are on the internet a lot more with hardly any social life. male or female.

you will of course find plenty people here ranging from 13 to 63 n beyond perhaps that have no social life, girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse, good family environment. so it's not really right to say thats why the teenagers are here. it is somewhat offensive.

i have an active social life... no girlfriend (i learnt after the last time heh).. and my family life.. fine.. n im 19 so still quite a teenager...

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Reality Checking..
September 03, 2006, 06:48:15
A technique/reality check that i find works the best for me is drawing a symbol on the back of my hand. Just something to catch my eye.
I constantly notice it even in the corner of my eye and it reminds me why it's there. Much easier to check reality when there is something there specifically to remind you.

And i notice my hands many more times than i walk through a door.. or see a window (as they were other reality checks i used to do).

Saying all that, with the many lucid dreams i've had, they never start by me noticing a black blob on my hand.. heh. It all just conditioned my mind to be a little more receptive.

My personal experience shows me that two weeks of the symbol on the hand check is enough to start lucid dreaming.

good luck

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreamt I had achieved an OBE
December 06, 2005, 08:50:59
Quote from: Ben KThe only difference in DREAMING you had an OBE and actually having an OBE is your level of awareness.

There are many different levels of awareness, in fact infinity. Think of it like a cup with water. The cup is your consciousness and the water is your awareness. When dreaming, the cup is empty. The more aware you are the more water in your cup.

So technically, you DID have an OBE. You just werent aware enough to realize what was going on. Which is completely understandable for beginners.

Well "technically" every dream is an OBE, as you're not physical at all. It's a journey of the mind.

They were merely dreams, nothing to do with being beginners or not.

Like my dream: in my dream I was having an OBE no question.. But I could still talk to "physical" ppl and effect "physical" objects by touching them and such.

I guess you would have to experience it for yourself to really understand what it's like, when you wake up you know it was a dream.

Bynx your experience sounds to me like a false awakening... you may have had an OBE but then for whatever reason (maybe not enough energy or concentration) you fell in to another dream. It's quite common.
#15
Well I cant say for you, but I personally think about the end of the world a fair bit, this is what I believe leads to my dreams, not the other way around.

I watch a lot of tv and movies about the subject, I write stories and I'm making a few online games about it... It's what interests me.

I'm not saying it isn't gonna happen, but I dont think these dreams are any type of warning or anything.

If anything I guess it could be your own mind preparing you for what YOU think might happen.
#16
If I were you I'd just take it as an interesting and adventurous dream.

I've had dreams where i was to:
-Build a space ship with my friends and fight an army of aliens.

-Stop a demon from taking people into giant pits outside my local Milkbar by writing words around the holes before he pushed more in.
(the worst part of this dream was that one piece of bacon cost $4.50 from that milkbar.. n i was so hungry, but RIP OFF)

-Protect my family from these ancient reptilian warriors that was firing weird weapons from on top of my grandmothers old house.

plus many other weird and interesting dreams...

And with all of them.... I'm just thankful I have such a fun and adventurous imagination.
So don't worry I don't think you'll have to battle a demon and his minions with the help of an angel and a bible. Though it would be cool ;)

Welcome to Dreams! / I only get lucid in nightmares
November 26, 2005, 07:19:51
Quote from: MisterJingo
My usual reality checking (when I do it) uses doorways. Everytime I pass through one, I consiously trail my fingers across across the door frame and use my watch or something else to reality check.

Yeah I also used doorways but I was at school and walking through so many with so much on my mind I'd only remember a handful of times. I'm personally too used to doors.

That said, a while ago I actually started getting used to the black or blue symbol on my hand so it started having less of an effect. So I took a break and started again fresh.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreamt I had achieved an OBE
November 26, 2005, 07:14:40
lol yes I too have had an experience just like this.

It is extremely strange, because you think you're having an OBE so you can do everything you can in a Lucid Dream but with some serious differences.
Like with mine people knew I was having an OBE and i could effect some physical objects.

Then towards the end I lost my body and was unable to reenter. So the one friend who could see and hear me let me stay with him while we figured out what to do.

I never resolved it all but it was certainly a great experience.

Welcome to Dreams! / I only get lucid in nightmares
November 26, 2005, 07:02:29
Well I believe that the reason it is easier to have a lucid dream from a nightmare is purely because to have a lucid dream you have to question reality to find it isn't real. So when we are scared out of our minds we make ourselves believe it isn't real.

So to have more lucid dreams from non-scary dreams would be to train your mind to question reality more often.

I personally draw a symbol on the back of my left hand in black marker. It really stands out. So every time it catches my eye it reminds me why it's there and I then check reality.

After a couple days of this anything that seems a little out of the ordinary catches my eye and I check reality then too.

It just progresses so I check reality more and more often.

Give it a shot, but remember the first few days are the hardest to remember to check reality. So make sure you have something that stands out.

Welcome to Dreams! / Problem with lucid dreaming...
November 26, 2005, 06:45:16
Well first off... dreams are weird.. that's the way they're meant to be. If everyone realised they were dreaming when something out of the ordinary happened then everyone would lucid dream all the time.

It's getting your mind to KNOW it's not right.

When you reality check during the day dont just go "Hmm i cant levitate that car, so im not dreaming.. oh well"... Really try to do something.. Push your mind to except that without a doubt you have to be awake.

If you are to check reality by looking at your hand, don't just glance at it.. Really stare at it.. Concentrate for a good 20 seconds on it, turning it, looking at how it moves and its shape.
Just because it doesn't melt away at first glance doesn't mean you shouldn't continue.

It generally takes me about two weeks from when i start doing reality checks to my first lucid dream. But everyone is different and sometimes i get one on the first night.
So be patient and really try.

Good Luck

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Suicide
July 18, 2005, 11:43:19
My bad, Hans i must have misunderstood.. as it appears you do believe in some conspiracies. I thought your first comment was damning those who did by the whole generalised "un-educated hick" comment.

Of course not every theory is correct or even close, but among the mayhem there is a little order.
Like I personally dont believe in the 4D reptilian brotherhood... whereas i do believe in A brotherhood of sorts, working behind the scenes.

and I think the Action-Reaction-Solution theory is pretty spot on... soon we'll see a major event with thousands of people missing or unidentifiable... and bingo! Human Micro-chipping. Because remember, we need it.

So the governments will cause this big disaster (blaming it on someone else of course).. The public will be in a state of shock and sadness, looking for a solution... the government offers them one that fits what they desire. Mass control.
As far as conspiracy theories go you just have to take what you want from them, and ignore what you dont.

You must also be careful on how much credit you give the more popular theorists. They could in fact be working for the people they're damning.
They often use the excuse "if they shut me up they just back up what ive been saying" when someone asks why they can still say all this stuff without "them" stopping them.
If they really are that powerful and the theorists are so correct then there would be no difficulty in getting rid of them and making it look like nothing... or making them just disappear.

Anyways I'm done now. Catch.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Suicide
July 15, 2005, 08:25:46
Wow Hans.. Thank god you know the truth and are able to tell us everyone that believes conspiracy theories are 9th grade students or hicks.

I have infact just finished high school and was introduced to this sort of material by a friend.. who has a masters in teaching.. who was given david ickes book by her friend who has been a doctor for the past 15 years.

So I guess your theory is that all conspiracy theorist are crazies.. but be careful how you word it, because if someone doesn't believe you then next thing you know you'll fall in to the same pool.

You only know as much as anyone else in the main-stream public, so don't get all high and mighty and believe you have the right to blatently insult other peoples beliefs just because you believe something else.

I'd like to see you going to a church or any form of place of worship and arguing with the congregation about their belief system.

Quotewhen pressed they say "Nothing I can do about it, it is predicted in the Bible". What a disempowering belief system!
I take it you're anti-religion too? You'd have to be to make the claims you have, on people making predictions based on the bible, as that is pretty much all religion is. One collection of books or scriptures and such, read as (literal) holy words.

Yes I believe a lot of the theories could be true... just as i believe they could be false... just as i believe religion could be true or false.. I don't follow a belief system.. i guess that makes it easier to accept and take an objective but reasonable look on matters.

I agree that it is rediculous to consider suicide over any of the theories presented by anybody. Especially the far fetched ones, such as David Icke's Reptilian Agenda.

So it'd be best to keep an open mind about EVERYTHING!... If you can supply hard evidence to disprove the theories then do so.. but don't just bad mouth theorists by giving your own theory on them. You just end up contradicting yourself.

And heter, get over it. Stop seeking attention from people that can't even see you.
Get out... or don't. Do whatever you want... that's pretty much the thing here, everyone is telling you to want to do some... "if you wanted to go for a walk and you did you'd be happy..... SO GO WALKING!".. doesn't quite work.
Maybe walking doesn't make you happy, maybe all it does is make you sore, tired and sweaty.
We havn't got the answers and even if we did you wouldn't accept them because you're content in whinging and complaining and getting a reaction.
So continue if that's what's gonna stop you from killing yourself, even though it's likely you wouldn't anyway.

Enjoy Stuff

Welcome to Dreams! / How do you lucid dream?
July 04, 2005, 06:28:42
The technique that works best for me is Reality Checking.

I draw a symbol on the back of my hand, then every time it catches my attention it reminds me why it's there and I check to make sure everything around me is real.
Doing this then trains my mind to continuously check reality and therefore making me do it while dreaming.

To check reality i usually look and really concentrate on an object and attempt to move or change it with my mind. If it stays solid then I'm awake, but if it changes slightly I then go on to check other things.

I also look at my hands, mine never melt like others say theirs do, but instead they look really deformed. They look as if they have been burnt and started to rot. Most of the time it's really disturbing so I only look for a short amount of time.

If you have done all this and still aren't quite sure (usually a sign that you are dreaming, but still, during a dream you don't always think straight) try jumping as high as you can and staying up there. If you start to fly or float then there you go. You either defied the laws of gravity or are (most likely) dreaming.

Yes I'm sure there aren't too many super attractive people at nudist beaches... I havn't personally been to one, but each to their own.

And OrionsDream, i know you mean well, but telling us all that heter is "fat and "has no friends" isn't very compassionate.
If he wanted us to know that he probably would tell us himself. It's just kinda rude, thats all.
But I do see your good intentions.

I just hope he reads over all that the other members and I have written in this thread. It sure shot up fast in the posts, but it seems, for the most part, helpful for this situation.
