Hi,

I actually ended up discovering OBE due to the fact that I was able to see through my closed eyelids with a blindfold on into my dark room at night when laying down to sleep and sometimes even before I laid down due to fatigue. I can tell you that it is not a hallucination, but at the same time it is not your real room. What you are seeing is actually a replica of the room in the non-physical dimension.

The reason I say this is because I noticed slight differences in my room, such as the distance between me and the chair at my desk. Sometimes the chair would be a little over to the left by a few inches. Sometimes it would be turned in a different direction than in reality. Also, the ceiling fan would start spinning in the other direction or stop if I thought about it. Basically your mind can manipulate the environment with your mind.

Thanks guys,

One thing I noticed in this experience is that rationale was not very apparent. It was as if I acted out of emotion rather than common sense. I have read up on OBE long enough to know that I really don't have anything to fear from these entities such as death or pain or anything. When it was all over, I was kicking myself because rather than exploring I spent the time trying to slay entites that may have been created by my own mind after listening the chapter on the lower astral. Anyway, hopefully i'll get back on soon. At least now I know how to do it.

Is there such a thing as being pulled or helped out of your body by somebody/something? In the past whenever I would try to project and I got to the point of being able to see through my eyelids, I would often perceive beings running around in my room as if they were waiting for me to come outside and play. I think that may have held up my progression a bit. Now I'm wondering it's possible one of those beings could have pulled me out, which would explain the feeling of being surrounded upon exit.

Wow. Definately will keep you guys posted...

Interesting... It wasn't really pain though, just intense vibration. It didn't hurt. It just caught me off guard. I mean I was laying there and then it just hit me out of nowhere and I got the falling sensation. I heard Kundalini is extemely painful and happens after years of meditation. Does your body become paralyzed during or after Kundalini?

Hi,

Finally after months of trying, I have gotten out and had such a convincing experience that I have no doubt that this was the real deal. Prior to this, I had thought I had gotten out or had some experience where I had separated but did not actually move away from my body so I was reluctant to share those experiences. This one, however was it. This is how it went down.

I decided to use affirmations. I had tried many other techniques such as meditation, phasing, waking up without moving, etc. Affirmations yielded the best result to date. I have an iPod with a program called Speakit. It gives me the ability to copy and paste text into it and listen to it being read. I have used this program to listen to entire books since I don't always have time to sit and read them.

I typed up an affirmation and made it repeat over and over and listened to it while laying down to go to sleep last night. I didn't fall asleep right away so I decided to listen to some chapters from Adrian Cooper's book 'Our Ultimate Reality' where he was describing the Astral Planes, namely the lower planes and the lower Astral Entities. I listened to it and started to doze off. Once it was over, I woke up realizing it had finished playing but I did not bother to start it over again. I had probably slipped into a light sleep of about 5 minues or so.

I layed there for a few minutes and then I was struck with a very strong charge of energy out of nowhere hitting me in my back. It was so strong I felt like I was being tazed, but without the pain. This was different from the vibrations I had felt during meditation, about 100 x stronger. It threw me out of my body. As I exited I heard noises that sounded digitized, like the one in the matrix when Neo gets engulfed by that mirror after touching it. I was then in a black void. I could not see but I could sense my surroundings and I could hear voices all around me. I felt threatened. I felt like I was surrounded by beings. I went into attack mode and started fighting them for some reason. I shot fireballs at them. I could not see what I hit but I could something was hit. It got kinda wild and I tried to control my thoughts but I think due to the fact that I had listened to that portion of the book that spoke of lower Astral beings and such, thats where I ended up I believe. Maybe my mind created it. I have no idea.

After about ten seconds I got pulled back in to my body. I felt the re-intergration of the astral and etheric body take place as it took a couple of seconds and then I could move again. I then rolled over, took the blindfold off my face and looked around. I was like what the hell was that!!?? I thought for a moment, that was it. It all happened so fast that I didn't even have time to think about it or explore my surroundings. It felt like I was thrust into a pit with a bunch of people fighting. I guess that's what they call a spontaneous OBE.

Your thoughts are welcomed.

Well... one thing about me is that I am patient and perservering in anything that I am determined to accomplish and this is one of those things. Even if it takes years to finally get it, I will get it. I feel like I am very close now as it is because of the common roadsigns people mention from their experiences. I have experienced many of them. As I mentioned, getting from A to Y has gotten pretty easy with all the practice. Its just that last push, that final oomph to get me over the hump.

I have probably read over 15 books in the last two months. A lot of helpful information in most of them. Some of them just cover experiences. Thats kinda what keeps me going, hearing about the experiences and make the conscious determination that I want to experience this as well. I have tried Direct and Indirect mehtods. Many say that Indirect is easier than trance induction but i've had better success with the trance induction than the indirect method. I always end up falling back to sleep using the indirect method... lol

But anyway, its a work in progress. Can't to come back and tell you guys about my first projection.

The trancework is a good investment, probably one of the best. My goal is to be able to eventually be able to enter deep trance in 20 minutes or less. That way I can project on my lunch breaks at work.

As far as energy, for me the vibes have gotten very strong to the point where when I bounce it from head to toe I feel like someone is pulling me by the feet. I even use it to massage out cramps and to massage certain areas to relieve tension. If you keep building energy everyday it will get stronger as time goes on.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. You have been very helpful. One more thing. This might sound like a stupid question but how do I know when to try the exit method (i.e. rollout, sit up, etc.)? For example I have been told to try and push my hand through solid matter, which I have managed to do many times by pushing my hand through the mattress. Is this a good indicator?

Thanks

Yeah, if they are referring to the astral body, then it means that once you have stimulated it through energy raising, you will shift the energy around your body by moving you awareness there. You will feel the energy swaying back and forth like a rocking boat. After a while you will feel the energy body expand past the borders of your skin.

For example, after I have spent some time raising energy, I then start to move it around my body building up a charge. When I move it to my feet I can feel it very strong there. Eventually i feel it coming out of my feet. It feels like you are growing taller the longer you hold it there. Then I shift it up to the top of my head and I feel like i'm stretching upwards. I usually keep doing that for a while, back and forth. Then You can pick a point of awareness outside of your body and try to move it outside of the bounds of the body itself like up to the ceiling or something and then back to normal. Bouncing it back and forth.

What comes next is energy loosening techniques and exit techniques.  It does not provoke tension to force a separation, it does not force you apart,  it loosens the energy body so that you can take control of the exit.

Right. I am with you. Here's how it usually goes...

I sit down, lay down or what have you. I then start with breathing. Then from there I start raising energy throughout my body. Once I have energy flowing throughout my body I then try to intensify it by moving it around my body. I can usually feel the astral body stretching out past the limits of my physical body through my feet or my head. I then use one of the techniques mentioned above and then after a few minutes my heart starts pounding and I get this surge of what feels like electricity. I sit back and let it happen, but afterwards it dies and i'm still sitting there. Am I supposed to do something when it comes on strong like that? I tried willing myself out or rolling out. What do you guys do at or after that point?

How far have you gone in MAP?   I ask because in the list of techniques I haven't seen any exit techniques, just 'waiting' for the surge.

Currently in week 56 right now. You're right. Most of it is designed to put a significant amount of pressure on the astral body to force a separation between it and the physical body. I assume that at some point you will be pulled apart which is what the surge is I guess. But what comes next?

Hi,

I dont usually post questions here because a lot of them have been answered already. However, I felt it would be beneficial to seek guidance from those who have experienced projection to help shorten my learning curve in my specific case.

I have been practicing for a couple of months now, using Mastering AP as my guide along with a few supplemental books on the side. I can say that I have experienced many of the pre-OBE exit signs (rumbling sounds, voices, etc). Over time with practice I have been able to get into a relaxed state and to the point of surge quicker and quicker. My problem though is that the surge is usually as far as I am able to get. I get the full-body surge, remain calm, breathe, and then.... nothing. Still in my body.

I have used the following methods:

Rope
Phantom Wiggling (Moving a body part without tensing a muscle)
Shifting my point of reference
Levitation
Active Immersion into a scene
Flying
Visualizing the license plate on my car, a loved one, a beautiful woman, etc.
I even tried turning into a Werewolf like in the movies to keep awareness shifted from my body
Passively 'Noticing' sounds and images

At the point of surge I either continue doing what I was doing or rolling, willing myself to stand, etc. No luck yet.

I have tried this lying down and sitting. with and without brainwave generators, waking from sleep or before going to bed. All of these methods have proven succesful in getting me to the surge point, but not beyond it. I feel like I am on the cusp of a projection and just need the final push to get me over the hump. I'm sure you've all been here before. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jamil

thanks ahzab33, that was a huge help! ive been reading lots of material, and im currently doin the 90 day Mastering astral projection book by robert bruce. the coolest method ive read just recently, is goin to sleep for an hour or an hour and a half, then staying awake for an hour, then apparently because ur body has just been denied the REM sleep somehow this helps when you go to project and lay down again after the hour awake. wat do u mean winking out in trance? sorry lol

No problem. Mastering AP is a very good book in my opinion. it is the main book I use as well. By winking out I mean a momentary lapse in consciousness, kinda like when are driving while tired and your eyes close and for one to two seconds you were dipping into sleep. The sweet spot is the threshold between wakefulness and sleep, right at the border. I realized this the other night when I was laying my bed and for some reason i decided to resist sleep as long as possible while laying in my normal sleep position. I winked out for a second but caught myself. Next thing I new there was a swirling pattern in front of that became very colorful and vivid. I created a ball of light and sent it into the vortex and locked my sights on the ball and followed it. After a while it started doing its own thing and I didnt have to tell it how to move, i just had to keep up with it. When I came out on the other side I saw before me stars and a huge, gigantic  vortex that looked so vivid and detailed that it made Avatar look like a black and white movie. I played around a little while longer before finally went to sleep and said now I know what I was doing wrong.

Hi,

You sound to be right around where I am right now. The best thing to do is focus on getting better and learning more everyday. Read a few different books because some authors don't go into deep enough detail on certain things. At first, I didn't know how deep into trance I should be in to achieve projection because I had never done trancework. I would sit in trance for hours not knowing why I couldn't achieve full separation. I would get partially out and get pulled back in. I knew I wasn't doing something right because I constantly read that one should avoid falling asleep while in trance. I always wondered why it was that I never even came close to falling asleep during trance. Another author said that in using direct techniques (basically projecting while wide awake using trance) one should have a lapse in consciousness before attempting exit techniques. I never had these lapses in consciousness while doing trance.

Most people (like myself) often start off using direct techniques which is the hardest way possible to project because it takes time to master trance. Indirect techniques are much better in that it relies on the natural sleep process to get you in the trance state. Now, what I do is one Direct attempt per day lasting about 30 minutes, mainly to hone my trance skills. But my real attempt happens at night before going to sleep, or waking in the middle of the night or early morning. If you are not winking out for 1 - 2 seconds when you go into trance, you may not be deep enough into it.

Good Luck

Hi,

I watched all of the videos. It seems like an interesting method. I didn't do the flame thing last night. I went to bed thinking about it though and got the same effect. I usually sleep with a blindfold on my eyes and look through my eyelids and the blindfold at the furniture in the room. Kinda feels like my eyes are open but they are in fact closed. Anyway, I decided I would resist sleep as long as possible and stare into the room. After sometime, I noticed a swirling pattern emerge into my field of view. I focused on it without looking directly at it and it became more and more detailed. After a while of doing this it became a huge whirlpool of colors more vivid than anything I have ever seen while awake!

I then created a ball of light and willed into the vortex and locked on to the ball. I did this so as not to focus on the colors of the vortex. it was almost like I was in a fighter jet plane locked on to a bogie. I was no longer controlling the ball, it was doing its own thing. I then found myself in the void and saw bright specks of light in the distance. My body started to get the normal energy surge like I normally do but without focusing on it. it was fun.

After that, whatever image came into my view I would lock on to it and try to determine the details of it until it became reallistic. Once it became realistic I would touch it and the separation would start. This is as far as I usually get, never quite getting out of my body, just reaching the part where the surge comes. I am going to work on this a little more and try it with the candle and see what happens

Or you can tie a bandana over your eyes like I do. I tie it tight to force my eyes to stay shut and can see right through the bandana and my eyelids with the lights off

I noticed my third eye was activated when I found myself laying in bed with a bandana on, lights off and being able to see the dark forms of furniture in the room. I was taken aback by it at first as I thought I was trippin. I covered my eyes with my hands, pulled the blanket over my face and could still see with the same clarity. I started playing with it over the span of a few weeks. I noticed that after a few seconds it would go dark and then come back again. I wondered why this was. I then noticed what looked like eyelids opening and closing. I've gotten it to where I can keep them open longer than before. Before it was like a newborn's eyes, weak and coudln't keep them open
