1 - I would say it's related to awareness and energy. When you move your awareness through your body, you're moving energy as well, and that's probably what you're feeling. (It's nice, ain't it?)

2 - No, it's not dangerous. If anything, it could help remove energy blockages.

If you haven't, I suggest reading up on Robert Bruce's NEW. He has great methods of circulating and storing this energy.
http://astraldynamics.com/home/new-energy-ways.html

Hey stookie. I just went to Robert Bruces site and downloaded a ton of pdf's that I intend to read comprehensively.
I will take his claims seriously and try out his techniques. I am surprised however to learn that he endorses the Q Link pendants. I would be very intrested in hearing your views on this after you have read thru this article http://www.badscience.net/2007/05/the-amazing-qlink-science-pedant/

Hey guys does anyone know anything about the cantebury institute? I read about them in a book by gavin and yvonne frost years ago. It's hard to find any info at all about them but they're supposed to be involved in research regarding AP over here in England.

Just my ten pence worth, but rather then arguing about the validity of one method over another eg science/alternative, we should be focussed and all have the same goal in mind. We should present the info we have meticulously. We should state where this info comes from. We should be able to back up our claims with evidence (of whatever stripe) and we should all be united in intelligent and informed debate about this information.

We are all obviously very curious people with a desire to get to the truth of a matter. We are served much better in this purpose if we can remove our emotions and ego from these debates and keep our goal THE TRUTH in mind at all times.

I have no personal experience of UFO's except that two of my closest friends claim to have seen two glowing orange crosses performing mind boggling aerial feats in the sky. They were out in the garden smoking a cigarette when they saw this and shouted and screamed for the rest of us to come and have a look. When I got outside there was nothing there. But seconds later (and this I did see) two RAF tornado jets screamed over head in the direction my friends were pointing.

My immediate response was to seperate my two freinds. I then proceeded to interview them in detail about what they saw. They both told the EXACT same story.

I have known these two people for a very long time and have no reason to believe they would try to decieve me.
I believe they saw what they said they saw.

Is this definitive proof for the existence of ET's? certainly not. But it is food for thought.

This coupled with probabilty theory leads me to suspect that there may well be other advanced forms of life in the galaxy. However without conclusive evidence the jury for me (as always) remains well and truly out.

@Harrif. Fairplay. Makes a little more sense. Thankyou ever so much for your words of encouragement. Also i've just finished reading several papers in peer reviewed journals about the nature and effects of DHT (not the illegal narcotic kind, the kind that naturally exists within certain cells in your brain) ever wondered how you 'see' in a dream when your eyes are closed? It is proposed that dreams are controlled hallucinations generated by the DHT in your brain. It is further proposed that all of 'wide awake reality' is nothing more than a carefully controlled hallucination generated by your brain. So you are absolutely bang on the money i'd say. Who indeed can say what is really real? I personally am undecided as of yet and believe that much more research is required. On a side note something just occured to me. All those of you who do genuinely have a problem with empirical research and the scientific method do me a favour. Log off and go throw your pooters in the bin. Because without either of those things you wouldn't be sat reading this now. haha. How do ya like them apples?
On another side note if you would like to start or direct me to another thread i'd be happy to discuss anything you like.

Really enjoying talking to all you guys. Theres some really cool people here. Thankyou all for making me feel so welcome.

Now back on topic is there anyone willing to take up my challenge? anyone at all? If not then so be it but at least give as much help as you can in experiencing this for myself and finding my own proof.

peace

Just a few more comments (sorry guys )

@Xanth, really loved the comment about teaching people how to do it so they can learn about it for themselves. Good work bud. So teach me how to do it. I'm all ears  :-D. Also really liked your help one ignore the other comment. I would like all the help you can give me please.

@Harrif where exactly is "this evidence" that is in plain sight for all to see? For I would dearly love to see it.

@personal reality. you made a bit of a hash of explaining objectivity i feel. However I think I got your message and appreciate your kind words. Thankyou

@Thirdeye. WHAT??? you had me in stitches. I do humbly apologize for my "undeveloped psychic senses".
However if you do me the honour of taking the time to read this thread properly then you will see that what I proposed demands absolutely NO psychic ability on my part whatsoever. I have never ever claimed to have any kind of psychic ability. But I feel that those that do have a responsibilty to back up those claims. You could for example just keep it to yourself if you wanted to avoid questions. Anybody who chooses to make public claims about this though has to expect at THE VERY LEAST some polite enquiry.

Haha thanks for tuning in guys. Keep smiling and have a fabulous day.

Wow. Really didn't expect to generate this much intrest!! :-D. Mixed feelings about some of the things you guys have said. First of all let me make myself PERFECTLY clear.
1. I am not a skeptic.
2. I don't have a closed mind.
3. I believe the government have a lot more resources at their disposal then I do to look into this. In fact i'm pretty damned sure they do. I'm a bloody biology student living off beans on toast for crying out loud. I also don't believe the government would have any need to trawl through internet forums.
4. I am open to any and all suggestions/teachings/advice. I will take any and all comments seriously. If you tell me to get naked smear jam all over myself and hop around my living room in an anti clockwise direction I will give it a go if for no other reason then to eliminate it as a possibility.
5. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the scientific method. Anybody who doubts this should do me the favour of investing as much time into researching it as I have with this.
6. I am not making any judgements at all about any of this and am trying diligently to AP
7. If someone makes a claim you should be able to test it. An example; Gravity is an attracting force. Bigger objects exert more of a pull than smaller ones. You can test this right now by picking up an object and letting go of it. I CLAIM IT WILL FALL TO THE FLOOR. you can do this a million times and every time the object will fall to the floor. This is because the Earth (A relatively MASSIVE object) exerts more of a pull than your (relatively small) object.

Hey all had a much more relaxed version of the vibes this weekend but still no OBE. Been busy trawling through the peer reviewed literature on the subject to see what the scientific community make of all this. Tried to attach a paper here but it's not letting me for some reason. Anyone thats intrested just pm me and i'll mail you what I have. One paper investigated over 11,000 poeple from UK, USA, and Canada.
@Kurt you fancy spending an hour thinking about me?  :-D and also do you know anyone more accomplished than yourself at this AP malarkey?

Exactly Timandra!!! The colour of the wallpaper is what I would most like to know. You'd think i'd have got off my bum and gone and had a look for myself by now eh? haha. :-D

So any of you luverly peeps got any opinions on my experiences forward slash difficulties? c'mon lets have em.

If any of you have googled Kaiteur falls and are wondering where the wooden floor was, I assure you there is a wooden guest house up there  :-D

Also here are the problems i'm having at the moment with trying to AP.

1. Every time I get comfortable I get an intense itch somewhere completey random that I just can't ignore.

2. On the rare occasions that i don't get itchy, i relax deeply but my eye-lids start to flutter un-controllably. So frustrating I could scream

Could stay up all night chatting about this but gonna hit the sack now and see waht the night brings. Night all. I'll be straight back on in the morning.

I'm pretty certain there is as a matter of fact. Let me tell you about my experiences to date.

1. 9 years old. Went to the dentist for a tooth pulling. Was anaesthetised with gas (think it was n2o but not certain) and I swear I floated right up to the ceiling til my nose was touching it then calmly floated back down to my body.

2. 20 years old. Working as a football coach in primary schools in Guyana South America. Took a holiday for a couple of weeks. Trekked through the jungle for 5 days to get to the top of Kaiteur Falls (google it. It is AWESOME) Drank too much rum fell over and banged my head hard on a wooden floor. Everything went black. I thought i'd killed myself, I remember thinking oh no i'm dead, oh no i'm dead. Then realised I still had my internal monologue. Started thinking well if this is dying it aint so bad. Got excited and started swooshing around where-ever I wanted. Left, right up down it was brilliant. Still had my sense of humour, my goals dreams and fears. Was still me. Just couldn't see a bloody thing. It was pitch black. Eventually woke back up in my body, had the best nights sleep i've ever had and felt like i'd been born again the next morning. This experience leads me neatly to number 3.

3. 21 years old. After what happened to me in South America started really looking into this with gusto. Was determined to do this deliberately and consciously. Laid on my back on my bed one day trying to AP. All of a sudden I couldn't move a muscle and every single cell in my body felt like it was vibrating violently. Also had a lound buzzing noise in my ears. I mean really, really intense. Scared me out of my mind and i stopped it.

The last 8 years i've been busy working and got caught  up with the daily grind. Always kept thinking back to those 3 events tho and here I am now. Determined to beat my fears of the unknown and really go for this. Any help any of you can give me along the way would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
Keep smiling

Would you be intrested in doing this again with me kurt? I have a feeling you're gonna be hearing quite a lot from me haha. Although i'm not trying to deny for a second what I felt this does to my mind warrant further investigation. For example  it would have been more impressive had you not told me what to expect before hand. Telling me what I was going to feel before it happened may have influenced me(I can't rule out the possibility that my brain gave me the sensations, knowing what to expect). Do you understand what I mean? i'm sorry if i'm coming across as negative (i'm really not) I just hope you understand the importance of being thorough.

Also i'd be intrested to hear anything at all that you may have learned about me. Anything at all. An impression a feeling, a thought. I'd just like as detailed as possible an explanation of what the experience was like for you. If it's not too much trouble? :-D

On a plus note I am REALLY enthused by this and hope to be be able to meet you out on the astral one day to say thankyou in person (or spirit, or whatever haha). Now that would be cool.

Ok. first of all no specific tingling feeling. However did start to feel very very warm. Was kinda hoping for some kind of unignorable tingling sensation. My head, neck and belly did feel very very warm (and I was in quite a cold room) However what made me grin from ear to ear was the fact that my right arm went completely numb below the elbow. I mean completely numb. Like someone was sat on it. Very cool and very interesting. Thankyou so much kurt.

(just edited, had a little bit of a problem with my left and right haha. It was my right arm not my left. sorry)

@Timandra. Thankyou for the warm welcome. Nice to meet you too.

@Kurt. I live just a 5 minute walk from pearson park. Quite a large park, can't eally miss it. I'm intrested tho, having never met me and not knowing what I look like or anything how will you know it is me? If time is not an issue for you then i suggest 10 o clock this evening. However i'm aware you have a life to live so if this is not a good time for you then just let me know when is convienient. Well excited.  :-D

@Xanth. I don't change the goalposts and i'm not even a skeptic. I believe that there is something to all this. I'm just trying to work out the specifics. I have after all have had SOME personal experience as I have said.

@Kurt. This is more like it thankyou very much indeed for such a kind offer. Go for it . I live in Kingston Upon Hull. England. UK (just called hull by the people who live here) its on the north east coast. When can I expect this to happen?
#18
@Xanth. You are simply wrong. I have told you what would qualify for me as proof. And given some of the claims I have read it doesn't seem at all complicated. Just tell me what colour wall paper I have. Just because i am scientifically minded does not mean I have a closed mind. I am open to any and all evidence. The important thing here is that anecdote and evidence are not the same thing.

Thanks for all your comments guys.
@ Stookie. Thanks for the kind welcome buddy. But don't you see? If someone from across the other side of the world could tell me what colour wall paper I have on my bed-room wall then it wouldn't be faith based at all. That is pretty empirical. Each of us are entitled to our own beliefs/opinions. I respect that MASSIVELY. My opinion is that blind faith is dangerous and leads to ignorance. Without going into a history lecture i can think of dozens of examples. Following in the footsteps of the great T Huxley i'm agnostic and demand empirical evidence before I accept anything as fact.

If this evidence has to come from my own personal experience then so be it. I am completely serious about my investigations into this phenomena and will continue every day with my studies and practices. However there is no telling how long it is going to take me (if at all) to experience this as a direct result of my efforts.

The methods I outlined in my original post would (had someone accepted and succeeded at the challenge) would have been more than acceptable to me as proof. It would also have been much quicker then waiting for my own experience and would have served to greatly inspire me and propel me forward in my studies.

As it happens it would seem I am left to prove this or not to myself

@Kurt. Care to tell me what I can do to feel this energy? As I said before I am completely open and will honestly and enthusiastically try any methods/techniques suggested and report my experiences here.

Keep smiling

Why is this so? If you told me you could lift 1000 lbs with your little finger would you reasonably expect me to believe you without a demonstration? I wouldn't think so. People are claiming they can seperate from their bodies fly around their neighbourhoods (or the world, or even the moon in some cases). People are claiming they can stick their etheric heads through walls and see what their neighbours are doing etc. So show me. Come and stick your head through my bedroom wall. Tell me what colour wall paper I have. It certainly isn't unreasonable to ask for a demonstration.

Let's try another approach then. Tell me why this can not be done. Lets start there.

Hello peeps.
First of all about me. My name is David, i'm 29 years old and live in England. I have recently gone back to university to study biology after giving up my job of 8 years. I have had 3 experiences throughout my life that I believe are linked to OBE's and have ultimately led me here. My intent is to ascertain the validity and the truth of some of the (lets face it) rather fantastical claims made by verious people on various sites. Let me begin by stating that I am COMPLETELY open minded to ANY possibility. I feel I should also state that it is not my intention to have anyone prove the truth of astral travel to the world at large (although that would be my goal and aim should someone ADEQUATELY prove it to me)

I am not asking anyone to submit themselves to medical science or get strapped to a table in the lab or anything so tasteless and vulgar. What I propose is quite simple (if we take the claims of many on these sites to be true) and i fail to see why it has not already been done.

My challenge then. If you are reading this and can astral travel at will then PM me. I will give you my home address (slightly risky you may think but on the physical plane at least I am more than capable of looking after myself ) We will arrange a date and a time. On said date and time you will project into my bedroom and tell me something specific (to be decided, it could be as simple as what posters do I have on my wall) You will then PM me again and tell me the information we have agreed on. If you can do this then that is all the proof I require. You will have my eternal friendship and gratitude. (although anybody who has taken the time out of their busy life to read this post has that too)

If you cannot AT at will then please do not just skip this post by. Pass it on to someone who can, or tell a friend about it and ask them to pass the message on. Please, please, please!! the more people that read this post the more likely I am to find a kindly soul willing to work with me on this endeavour. If you do one kind thing today then help me to circulate this thread or direct me to where I might I might recieve more help.

I must be honest and say that I am not expecting much of a response to this post and certainly not expecting anyone to take up my challenge, however I am prepared for you to pleasantly surprise me.

Just for those of you who think that I have no faith in this let me re-state. I personally have experienced 3 events in my life that as of yet escape a logical explanation. It very much felt like i was 'out of my body'. I would be more then happy to discuss these events in more detail with anyone intrested. However I cannot consciously and deliberately re-create the experience, though I continue to try.

So for me the jury is still out. My own experience may well have been a result of synapses mis-firing in my brain. Or a result of the gas the dentist gave me when I was 9 years old. The only first hand evidence that I have to support astral travel is this; When I was 21 i was trying to induce an OBE and entered what I think was the vibrational state that is so often talked about. It scared me out of my wits and I haven't tried again since until very recently.

Thankyou ever so much for taking the time to read this post. Whether astral travel and OBE's are true or not, whether you decide to help me or not I love you all dearly. If there is anything I can do to help anyone with their own enquiries just give me a shout. Keep smiling and have a fantastic day.

David
