What about trying to contact some universities with "parapsychological" departments to setup a cheap/free test...?

Then, they might be interested in sponsoring you...

Maybe try contacting this guy: http://www.annonline.com/interviews/970929/biography.html

Good luck!

PS: $1,000,000.00 is a lot of money; I am pretty sure Mr Randi will do everything not to have to give it away...  So, I agree about getting a lawyer and being backed-up by a group of people or an association.

Using the MMT Observatory in Tucson, AZ, astronomers at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) are the first to report the discovery of a star leaving our galaxy, speeding along at over 1.5 million miles per hour. This incredible speed likely resulted from a close encounter with the Milky Way's central black hole, which flung the star outward like a stone from a slingshot. So strong was the event that the speedy star eventually will be lost altogether, traveling alone in the blackness of intergalactic space.

We have never before seen a star moving fast enough to completely escape the confines of our galaxy," said co-discoverer Warren Brown (CfA). "We're tempted to call it the outcast star because it was forcefully tossed from its home."

The star, catalogued as SDSS J090745.0+24507, once had a companion star. However, a close pass by the supermassive black hole at the galaxy's center trapped the companion into orbit while the speedster was violently flung out. Astronomer Jack Hills proposed this scenario in 1998, and the discovery of the first expelled star seems to confirm it.

"Only the powerful gravity of a very massive black hole could propel a star with enough force to exit our galaxy," explained Brown.

While the star's speed offers one clue to its origin, its path offers another. By measuring its line-of-sight velocity, it suggests that the star is moving almost directly away from the galactic center. "It's like standing curbside watching a baseball fly out of the park," said Brown.

Its composition and age provide additional proof of the star's history. The fastest star contains many elements heavier than hydrogen and helium, which astronomers collectively call metals. "Because this is a metal-rich star, we believe that it recently came from a star-forming region like that in the galactic center," said Brown. Less than 80 million years were needed for the star to reach its current location, which is consistent with its estimated age.

The star is traveling twice as fast as galactic escape velocity, meaning that the Milky Way's gravity will not be able to hold onto it. Like a space probe launched from Earth, this star was launched from the galactic center onto a never-ending outward journey. It faces a lonely future as it leaves our galaxy, never to return.

Brown's co-authors on the paper announcing this find are Margaret J. Geller, Scott J. Kenyon and Michael J. Kurtz (Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory). This study will be published in an upcoming issue of The Astrophysical Journal.

Headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) is a joint collaboration between the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and the Harvard College Observatory. CfA scientists, organized into six research divisions, study the origin, evolution and ultimate fate of the universe.

Welcome to Dreams! / What does this dream mean?
February 10, 2005, 11:44:16
And how do you react...?

One theory I like is that:

- Emotions release energy.
- There are things out there looking for energy.
- So these things make you have emotions to get that energy

But that just one theory...

I am in the same state...  flying around, changing the sky's color, etc. is fun but...  I need to find a "real" purpose/goal.

Russel, did you already played with letting yourself fall backward (or dive forward) into the ground...?
QuoteCarlos Casteneda talks about these "gates" one can walk through while dreaming.
These are not "real" gates you go through, it's more like levels/steps of practice.

You reach the first gate when you become lucid.  You pass it by maintaining lucidity.

You reach the second gate when you are able to "travel" (switch dream environment/scenario).  You pass it when you find a scout and ask him to bring you into his world...

You reach the third gate when you see your physical body (RTZ).  You pass it when you move around in the RTZ.

The fourth gate is dreaming someone else's dream...
The fith, sixth and seventh gates... no idea.

Personaly, I am stuck at 2; never found a scout yet...  Once I grabbed something that "attacked" me and it did pull me very fast to some unknown location.  After a while (like 20 seconds) and crossing some kind of "border" (felt/heard a deep/low vibration/bell), I got a little worried to go too far and released him and woke up...

Lost love really can cause a broken heart
Study: Tragic events linked to chest pain, shortness of breath

Confirming the wisdom of the poets and philosophers, doctors say the sudden death of a loved one really can cause a broken heart.  In fact, they have dubbed the condition "broken heart syndrome."

In a study published just in time for Valentine's Day, doctors reported how a tragic or shocking event can stun the heart and produce classic heart attack-like symptoms, including chest pain, shortness of breath and fluid in the lungs.

Welcome to Dreams! / What does this dream mean?
February 09, 2005, 04:53:38
I am afraid only you can answer that question...  Did something important/unusual happened in your life just before the killing dreams appeared?  Do you feel insecure?  Did you do any esoteric/spiritual practice that could have triggered these dreams?

How do you react?  Ignore?  Wakeup?  Fight back?

Personally, I've only seen my body twice...  Most of the times, I just "rocket" to some unknown places...  The only few times I had the opportunity to look, the bed/chair was empty.

The only experiences involving my body I can think of are: when my "head" (consciousness) was right in my solar plexus (my vision was at the solar plexus level for some reason and I could see my crossed arms over my chest), and when I accidentally separated while rotating to end up face to face with myself...  :)

How do I know what state correspond to alpha waves...?
For this to work, I think you should first use binaural beats for a while and then associate the sensation/state with the affirmation...

There are things I don't like...
QuoteOur advice to those young people is that they should fear Almighty Allah regarding their life and youthfulness.  ...  fear  ...  fear  ...
QuoteLet him convince himself that the pleasure that he derives from such an abominable behavior is in reality nothing but pain and suffering in the long term. So instead of associating this behavior with pleasure, let him learn to associate and link it with pain; so every time he is tempted to do it, let him picture the pain and suffering of hell fire. By repeatedly going through this exercise, he will eventually come to abhor and shun this behavior altogether.
QuoteVisualize and meditate on the ugliness of this heinous sin and conjure up images of hell fire as painted in the Qur'an and the Sunnah as many times as possible until such time that whenever you are tempted to visit such websites or read such magazines, the scenes of hell fire will be playing in your mind. Thus, even as you have associated this addiction with pleasure, you will come to associate it with pure pain and suffering.

So, it's all about fear, pain, hell, more fear, more pain, etc.   :?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / wind sound
January 31, 2005, 03:09:05
I get the wind/stream quite often too.  I don't hear it but I feel it.  In fact it usually just blasts me out of my body.  And it seems to always come from the left...

Maybe focus on the wind and it might help you OBE.

QuoteHow can I put them on a regular Audio-CD? Is this possible at all?
I think the software that came with your CD burner should be able to create an audio CD from WAV files...  Choose to create an audio CD, select the WAV files you want and burn!

Next time, maybe try to roll to the side instead of trying to lift yourself up; it needs less effort.

Some people have reported successfully projecting down (through their bed)... maybe try to dive "head-first".
#21
Cool,

It's been a while since I used sbagen; I made my CD like 6 years ago and did not touch the program anymore...

Thanks a lot.

Personally, I had 2 type of projections from the side...

First one is when some kind of wind just blow me from the (always?) left side.   So, it is just "automatic".  I have nothing to do except staying calm and just waiting to lift off.

Second type is weird; I pushed myself out of body...  I was having a dream where I was walking in town with a friend.  At one point, my friend became annoying by staying too close to me.  A few seconds later, I found myself lying in my bed with another body lying right next to mine.  I was not fully lucid and took it as my friend's body.  I began to push it away, but it was difficult.  The more I tried the more annoyed I was becoming.  Finally, I successfully pushed the body out of my bed... except that as the body was falling, I found myself being (in) that body too.  So, I was still in my bed and at the same time falling from it.  At that point I switched back to lying and got the vibration... etc...

The easiest way would be to get the wind... except that you never really know where you will end up.

Do you like it with river mixed?
Anyway, you could also mix the 2 after, with another audio program...
I "like" to listen to it raw...  and don't like the white/pink noise option...

Would you mind posting your configuration file...?

Maybe try with ' -> ' at the end of each line (except the last one)...

Otherwise, you could try to ask on the discussion list:
