Hey d3nd3,

I do have to ask this, but what does the concept of astral projection/OBEs mean to you (as a person)? Like other's have posted here, you have to want to have a projection experience - boredom or just having a feeling it should happen because it might be "cool" won't get you anywhere (if this is the case).

Also, I'll give an example that I used to use back in High School - A Friend (named Friend A for simplicity) and myself were both Trumpet players in concert band - Friend A spent a lot of time after class taking notes, getting lessons, basically studying any material he could on the topic. I, in contrast, didn't do anything except work on my own, and listened to how the music "felt" to me. Now, whenever it came to Chair positions (which are a big deal in HS), I always beat Friend A out. The reason was that while Friend A believed he knew everything about the subject of trumpet-playing, he never really "felt" the music (it was all scientific to him, no emotion whatsoever).

Although it may seem off-topic, you remind me of my friend; you seem to be the person that studies long into the night on certain subjects, and then when it comes time to try what you know (such as a projection attempt), you can't seem to make it work.

Also, why do you want a face-to-face method of communication? Because unless you're profiling us by body language to determine if we're lying, the evidence you need to look at is all in these forums.

Finally, (back on topic, sorry for sliding into a tangent) Regardless of the "nature" of the projections (disease, vivid/lucid dream, all in the mind, etc.), I have experienced the phenomenon known as astral projection. This has occurred on numerous occasions, and under uncontrolled and semi-controlled conditions (all my projection attempts are experiments - For example, if a particular method has worked for me, I will try to replicate the process and document any changes that happen).

So d3nd3, I have a challenge for you as well - For one week (or more, depending on the amount of time you have available to try & project), lose the "skeptic ego". As in, pretend that you are just now learning about projection - don't treat it as a True/False "if it is invisible then it doesn't exist" phenomenon, but approach the topic with an open mind. This was the barrier for me - I couldn't accept the idea that it might be possible that people could do this, even though I couldn't at the time.

As a closing note (for now  :-D), you mentioned that you'll be hovering around the forums for 60-ish years - in the meantime, try to experience some kind of projection. If you fail at first, be like a scientist & keep trying. If you find a method that brought you close to projection, modify it and see if you get the same results.

No offense meant in any of this post whatsoever.

Hiya Foss, it sounds to me like you had a 'false awaking' but I never had one of those.
Maybe do a search and read about them to see if you recognise that.
Anyways you are on the right track!
cheers, djed  :-)

I'll take a look around, because I haven't had a false awakening yet either (unless this was one). If it was, then my next step is to duplicate what I did to get to that point. Thanks!

Hey,

A couple nights ago, I found myself with sleep paralysis, and attempted an astral projection. I remembered having the projection (In short, I rolled over, and thought that I physically rolled over, so I "opened" my eyes and found that I was touching the floor on the wrong side of the bed. Finally, after getting all the way out, I started to lose focus, almost as if my physical body had some need for calling back.).

After a "brief" period of blacking out, I felt myself "click" into the body (it's hard to describe - I mean, one minute I'm feeling nothing in the astral, and then I'm "back" inside my physical body). When this happened, I went to check my watch to see how long I was out, and instead of hitting my bookshelf, I only found empty air.

This is the weird part, for which I have very few explanations: I found myself to be in my physical body, but not in the same room - I still felt like it was "my" body (I mean, I've lived in it for 20.5 years, so I know how it feels), and I could feel moving the sheets so I could get out of that bed (has anyone felt a physical sensation out of body?). Also, I was as lucid then as I am in waking conscious - It had no feel of being either a lucid dream, projection or experience.

Seeing as I was aware of my surroundings, I did a couple of tests which I found worked in previous dreams/OBEs. The first I tried was to hover around the room. I jumped off the bed, and made a rather loud crash when I landed on the floor (it could be that I was thinking about gravity, which caused me to experience it in this experience). When that didn't work - I tried spinning around, which proceeded to make me dizzy (just like it would in the "real" world). As a final test, I tried to make my hands melt by focusing on them, which also did nothing.

To finalize this experience, I met my family members (still looking like they do in real life), who refused to believe "I" wasn't myself. When they left, I picked up a few documents off the floor (again, I could feel the texture of the paper - most of them were the kind of paper that award certificates are printed on), and started to get worried (I mean, I was in the "wrong" room, and none of the tests to indicate it was a projection or dream). Finally, I attempted to astral project twice from inside this (dream? OBE?) - the first time failed because it seemed like I was too "awake" (as if I just woke up from sleeping 8 hours), and on the second it worked: I got the vibrations, and was able to project. After blacking out a second time, I found myself in "my" body, and in the right room.

The only mention of anything relating to this was one of Monroe's experiences (I think it was covered in Ultimate Journey, but it's been a while since I read that book), where he seemed to "take over" another entitie's life for brief periods. Anyway, as you can probably tell, this experience rattled me because I've never, never experiences something of the sort, and so, I'm asking for what you guys think?

Also, I know how unusual this sounds - Normally I'm a skeptic when encountering these kind of posts/experiences. I figure that this is better off on this forum than anywhere else, so in a nutshell: What do you think happened to me, based on what I said?

Thanks,

-fossilera

PS: Sorry for the longish read; I was trying to put 5 pages worth of notes into a "forum-based" format.

So i have some questions on this. and if you know the answer, can you say the way how?
1. Can  you read someones mind without them sending thoughts purposefully? even if its a little
2. Can you force your thoughts in someone if they are not even trying to recieve anything purposely?
3. When you recieve word thoughts,as in "look behind you" do you hear a voice talking or just yourself thinking it.
4. Is there drills for practice or is it just all visualization and emotion, and belief ect.

Well, I'll take a stab at some answers.

1. My guess is that this could be done. While I haven't tried to do this, what I would recommend is looking into some of the techniques that are used during remote viewing. I say this because in theory, you are trying to find out information "blindly" from someone (much like the remote viewers trying to find information about a location, in which they only have a coordinate of the place).

2. Strangely enough, I have tried a method or two in my "younger" years (20's still pretty young :P ). In one case, it seemed to have worked, because the person in question came over and talked to me about the topic I was passing them. I should also say there is a strong chance that the person will not immediately get the "message" you are sending (at most, it might be a nagging feeling - like they forgot to do something, unless they have some skill at telepathy).

One such method I used was imagining a "link" between you and this other person; it could be anything from a wire, silver cord, computer, etc (visualize something that you would consider a connection to them). When you "send" the message, also visualize it traveling down this connection and into the other person.

For example, say I am trying to send a thought to Person B. I picture a rubber tube connecting myself to the image of Person B. As I think of a thought, I also visualize a bulge traveling down this rubber tube (the bulge is the thought), and have it entering Person B.

Again, based on the number of times I've tried this, it has only worked twice (regardless of the method used).

3. It differs - normally if I perceive any thoughts, they usually take on the voice of who's generating them (for example, I'd hear Person B's voice if I were listening to their thoughts). That's only from my experiences though.

4. As other's have said, there's plenty of ways to practice. One of the best is finding another person that is willing to help out - I believe there is an experiment out there where one person picks out a card with a phrase, word, or picture on it, and they have to "send" out whatever is on the card, while another person has to "receive" the image. If you're a "visual" type person, try picturing a connection with a random person (like I mentioned in #2). Finally, you can try listening while another person is in the room, and casually get into a conversation about what they are thinking (provided the information isn't something private).

For the brief time I had access to the first two Waves (and buying a CD player so that I could use them at the time), I enjoyed the program. The parts that I still use is the Energy Conversion Box, and the induction to the Focus 10 State. Seeing as I haven't got the chance to finish the course, I will say that if the other Waves are as engaging as the first two, then I probably would have success with them. It might not deal with astral projection, but they are still a learning tool to work with in your spare time.

What I liked about the techniques is that it was guided, or rather "engaging"; you were given instructions as to what to do, and then some time to think about the instructions (which is my type of learning style). I also liked the "free exploration" exercise at the end of the Wave, because I used that time to test out everything I learned from the previous ones.

Has anyone used the other Waves at all?

PS: On a side note, didn't the Gateway Experience come in a cassette form at some point? If it did, then the entire series might be cheaper to buy (partially because very few people still use them anymore).

Hello Simo,

I've heard that using 63hertz & 6.3hertz help with astral projection, and some of the presets on the brainwave generator site use them as well. I used to use this section: http://www.bwgen.com/inx_oobe_dat.htm all the time (until it started to give me headaches).

Also, you might find this helpful as well - it's a list of frequencies that the owner has compiled from various resources: http://www.lunarsight.com/freq.htm

Finally, Xanth made a binaural beat that he was using for projection - you might want to look into it. He posted the link on both his blog, as well as on here as well.

Good Luck!

Alright, seeing as the file uploading is returning errors, I uploaded it here: This Link. The only different thing about this experiment was that I focused more on relaxing music than on brainwave tones and the like (but this could easily be substituted). I've used the Brainwave Generator in the past, but wasn't too fond of it (mostly because I didn't know how to add WAV files to a cd, so whenever I used it, I had to literally set my computer & headphones next to my bed.). I did enjoy the presets that came with the Mastering Astral Projection book, as well as Deep Mind IV (I think it was called that).

Have you tried the isotones yet? (http://iso-tones.com/tones.html). At one point, I had a huge list of the free brainwave/binaural beats/frequencies (but that was way back on another computer). Isotones was one of the few I remembered.

And you know, I also felt that listening to the tones might hinder a projection attempt, because just like you said, it still forms a connection to the physical world. The ironic thing was that towards the end of the experiment, the audio had less of an effect (meaning I was starting to tune-out the music being played).

Anyways, enjoy the read.

Has anyone tried certain brainwave tones to help get out?

I have, but most of the time found that they were more of a distraction. At one point, I attempted an experiment with them, with the idea that if I was able to keep focused on the beats (or music), less focus would be placed on the body (and therefore, create a "mind awake, body asleep" state). In short, I had three conscious obe's within those two weeks.

If you want smilecollector, I can send you the experiment & results.

Hello anyone that's reading this,

It should probably be mentioned that I'm not new to the subject of astral projection or OBE experiences. For the longest time, I was a member from the Astral Society site (way before all that drama happened). After that, I've been hovering around a multitude of different sites, and finally decided to settle here.

The only other thing I can think of mentioning at this point is that I have had successful conscious astral projections recently, and have set a goal to have one OBE a night.

Anyways, I'll be around.
