Has anyone been sore after an OBE or failed attempt to exit? I've been sore after most of them. Usually that's what I use to confirm that I had an OBE and not a dream. I think it might be related to chakras because the soreness isn't muscle soreness, since I fall asleep with no soreness and the soreness disappears about 15 minutes after I wake up from an OBE. I'm not sure though. Has anyone experienced this?

Congrats! I'm glad your first OBE was positive!

I'm dieing to tell fellow astral projectors so I have now joined this forum!

First I was interested in lucid dreaming and I have been enjoying that so much for a long time. But there has been that difficult skill I have been trying to do for more than 6 months and finally this morning I had a dream... I did the holding nose reality check and became lucid, but shortly after becoming lucid for some reason everything went black for a while.

Dimensional shift. It happens when you become lucid, exiting the body, or entering the body. Or leaving/entering the RTZ or other planes.  ;)

QuoteMy conciousness then came back to my physical body and out of nowhere my hand started pulsing/vibrating, soon after my whole body was in huge waves of vibrations... and what interested me a lot was the amazing sounds i heard, my ears felt like they closed off from any other sounds in our world and i started hearing low vibrations and lots of static like a tv!

Static... that is making me think your were in SP. Becoming lucid then going into SP is common. And strong vibrations in SP are also common.

Quotesoon after i could open my eyes (astral eyes) and move my head up, i then floated up out of my physical... i knew not to stay in the room so i flew through a wall. unfortunately someone was making noise in my house so i think thats what brought me back to my body. i can't believe i have finally done it. also, when i woke up my face was like tingly hot but not discomfortable hot, like i wasnt sweating or anything, is that normal?

i do have a question too. visually things wern't that vivid i think maybe because i was trying to stay calm the whole time mixed with so much excitement but i don't know, things kind of seemed more darker and mystical? do i have to train my astral travels to be more vivid like i had to with my lucid dreams?

Vision usually sucks in your first couple OBEs. After practicing and meditating it gets better.

I'm glad you want to practice APing. There really is a lot out there, more than anyone can imagine.

I am not sure if this was LD or a OBE because I was more than scared out of my wits and wanting to wake up REALLY, really bad...this is something I will never forget...
Sometime during last fall, I went to sleep (duh) and I opened my eyes to see my bedroom light on and my body paralyzed, unable to move any part of my body.

Just wanted to say that when I enter SP for some reason lights in my house are magnified. A small light can light up the whole room. I don't why this happens or if it's just a coincidence. I just wanted to say that.

QuoteOddly, my head was bent complete up looking over my body with my chin tucked into neck, I remember very distinctly staring at my doorway with my poster next to it and thinking 'what the hell?!' but my lips weren't moving and my body wasn't listening to my commands.  At some point, I figured out that I was asleep because I could feel my body breathing normal and tossing and turning while being conscious with my 'other' body in my 'other' room.

I've sat up before  while SP and saw my astral hands. They disappeared after I saw them. It sounds like you were partially out-of-body.

QuoteAlas, the part that really made the experience as creepy as hell and terrifying till all get out was that there was a deep muttering in the back of my mind that made my eyes droopy and my body numb. I was fighting it with all my power because the voice was like whispering in my ear, even though I could not see it, to say something. It was demanding me and more than certain to say "I worship Satan.". It kept repeating it like a mantra as my mouth parted and my voice croaked. "I..." each syllable was forced out of me and I strangled to maintain control "worship...", by that point it was screaming, 'Satan! Satan!', I was yelling over it in my head I clamped my mouth shut and refused to say the last part. I kept saying 'god' in my head, ignoring the voice.
It was like a power struggle over my body.

Classic case of SP. That voice came from your mind. The first SP I had there was an hallucination of an "angel of death" in my room while saying "do not be afraid" in a scary voice. Was there a static like sound also? Because that is also common with auditory hallucinations.

QuoteSomehow I managed to wake up, my room was dark and my body was down flat. That was a dream, I convinced myself. But, even though I was calm somewhere in my mind, my body was shaking as I fought to keep down my tears as I kept repeating, "I worship god." Over and over again. I wouldn't sleep for days after that and when I did, I didn't sleep in my own room for about a month. Even when I did, it was liking being six with the boogie monster hiding under my bed and dead people watching me while I sleep.

Chill out! The best way to not have SP is to NOT sleep on your back. I know it can be scary, as I would not sleep again with the shirt I wore when I had the SP episode until recently.

QuoteSo people tell me, should I try to astral projection after an experience like that, because I am not sure and would love some advice.

Yes! However, I'm not a fan of exiting through SP. It usually causes negative experiences because it is not controlled. Exiting through a trance state (It's different from SP) or phasing is better.

And whoever made the remark about the dweller (I like to call him guardian of the threshold) he isn't evil. He is basically reflected on your karma when you "meet" him. And I don't think you met him/it, it was just a normal hallucination associated with SP. I met the guardian on my first OBE ever on the front lawn of my house. As an electrical storm. On Wikipedia it says it is a "guardian that stands before the supersensible world, in order to deny entrance to those who are not truly capable of entering." You have to recognize and forgive your wrongdoings.

At least that's what I believe.

What has happened to me before is that I successfully exit, but lose focus after I exit and can't remember anything from my OBE. Or I only remember small parts of my OBE. Most people just don't have the attention span to go more than 20-30 minutes.

You can wake up from your sleep, not in SP, but actually out of body. It's very possible. Most of the time though people panic and get sucked into their body. It's happened to me twice. Before I learned about AP, I thought I was being abducted by aliens. :P (I was on the other side of my room both times near the ceiling.) It could be when people report experiences of "alien abduction" they are actually experiencing this.

The guardian of the threshold is a menacing figure that you must butt before u can go into higher realms of learning. (from wiki) it's basically all your fears. To continue your journey u must confront him. I faced him. It is scary. I will explain t l8er when I'm
on my compuer. Just Wanted to kno if any1 else faced him.

Spontanuous projections are usually negative. Unfortunatley I have the same problem. You can't get to th light because that is Heaven, and u must b dead to go there. That shapeshifter might be the gaurdian. It different for everyone.
