oh, cause i tried it last night and had the vibrations and had the hair on my arms sticking up and everything even the tugging sensation of trying to get out of the body but I wasn't full adapt to it and failed several times....took me two hours just to lose consciousness afterwards anyway....its kinds hard and tiring to do tht....is projecting a matter different all together?

According to the guides here, you have to be in a state of "body asleep, mind awake". Kind of like sleep paralysis. It'll probably help if you go to sleep for a few hours, wake up, get up and do something for a few minutes to wake up a little, then lay back down.

As far as "getting out", I can't answer that one because I haven't been successful with it yet. Different techniques seem to work well for different people (phasing, rocking, the "rope" method, etc.). Different things work well for different people I guess. I'm going to try them all and see which ones work best for me.

Welcome to Magic! / Re: What is Magic?

Magic, in it's simplest definition is exercising ones will to change reality. There are many theories about how it works, but in it's purest form it is energized intention.

I don't do religion either, and I share with you an amazement of human consciousness and existence. Welcome!

alright....how long does it usually take to get ur astral body on a normal basis?

I've been trying on and off for a number of years. I haven't been really, very serious about it. I've had the vibrations that come just before you go off into the astral, but wasn't able to project. That's as close as I've gotten. My goal is to do better than that by learning from others.

In case you haven't heard him speak before, here are some lectures with RAW:

You should also check out the rest of Lorenzo's collected lectures, which include some great speakers like Tim Leary and Terence McKenna and many many others:

Thank you very much, I will definitely check those out.

This is a good thread. Have you read any books by Robert Anton Wilson or Christopher Hyatt? "Cosmic Trigger I: Final Secret of the Illuminati" and "Undoing yourself" both advocate creating a rich world for yourself by doing different things. Anything to break routine. Sometimes great power lies in the distinctions that you get when your brain is used in ways that it's not used to.

I like drop rides a lot too. I don't care if that makes me a pussy, I enjoy being lifted up into the sky to the height where people look like you could squash them with your thumb, then held there for an unknown amount of time before the drop.

I drink lots of coffee. A lot. Sometimes almost an entire pot a day. I have no issues falling alseep, but usually don't remember my dreams. I've never successfully projected, and wonder if it's the caffeine that might be interfering.

I drink so much of the stuff that it's going to be hard to quit and am wondering if it'll be worth it.

After browsing several forums regarding AP/Magick/The paranormal, I decided to register at this one. Why? Because the people here seem very down to earth (no pun intended), knowledgable, and grounded in a healthy skepticism. People here seem friendly and open. I like that!

My goals are to meet some new friends while learning more about the paranormal in general, have an OOBE, a lucid dream, and some awesome spiritual experiences. I'm agnostic, which to me means that I don't believe that there's any real material proof for a God, while I don't believe that it's impossible that one exists. Still trying to figure that out.

I had an experience with sigils (and the law of attraction) a couple of weeks ago that's piqued my interest in the occult, paranormal, and spiritual in general. I want to experience more spiritual things and try to make the world a better place.

Well there you have it... my lengthy introduction. If you read the whole thing, I promise to make it up to you for the 30 seconds of your life that you spent on it :)
