Well being empathic, I'm able to scan other people's emotions and pysche/ personality.
I do this best hands on in direct physical contact with someone else and personaly I have never met anyone who lacked a soul or aura.
However there are people who are able to set up a strong block or sheild to their emotions and person.
This makes it more difficult for me to read them but some type of sensation is always passed on to me no matter what or how faint.
Some people are very private about their personal life and prefer not or have parts they don't wish to be scanned which should be respected as well.

Well think about it, its the memory of sensing his aura that I'm recalling just like people do with all sorts of things.
Like for example one can remember what it the scent of a particular flower is like, the taste of one's favorite food etc.
The memory of his aura at that particular moment in time is what I am recalling.

Well I don't really know if this is a pyschic link or not but there is a male friend of mine who I recently joined with on an empathic level.
We linked up palm to palm and shared aura energies with each other and felt everything that was inside of each other.
Now when I'm away from him if I concentrate like when I am meditating I can recall his sensation nearly perfectly in almost every detail so its like we're never really apart even when we're not together.

Weak or strong ANYONE'S aura energy system can be attacked.
But if one knows the techinques to prevent such an attack they regardless of strength at least have some sort of protection.

like I said I belive that 2 people can both share energy in a totally non destructive intimate way benfitting both persons involved.

A vampire attack on the human aura system is a terrible thing but there are several different techinques to protect oneself.
For example there is the finger interlock techinque whic can prevent or terminate a such an attack.
First one joins the tips of the fingers together and forms interlocking circles.
Second, envision a sheild of protective energy surrounding your entire aura and turning away any type of invasion or intrusion by foriegn forces.
Third, picture your inner core of your energy system as surging with power and filling your whole being with plentiful energy.
Fourthly, allow this procedure to reach its summit and then think to yourself that you ae full of powerful sheild like energy, both safe and secure.

I recently posted an articile on pyschic vampirism that there seems to be some confusion over.
Although I gave a detailed description of the practice and wrote about its similarites to empathy I am in no way a psi vamp but an empath and strongly look down upon anything another would do to harm another.
People on the contrary should be wary of pyschic vampirism because they could be easily confused by some of its similarities to empathy.
I believe that I wrote at the end of the topic of Pyschic Vampirism that anyone could learn how to do empathy and not vampirism which is something that either a person has or doesn't have and can't learn how to do.

Vampirism will addict the practitioner to the energies of weak people, and thus resonate your psychology with those people, weakening yourself. You misunderstood me, although I wrote about Pyschic Vampirism which I've read about I'm not one of them and really don't approve of their actions.
I believe if their is an energy exchange between people it should be consentual.
I'm very much into the study of the 7 different Chakras and their influence on the human body.
If anything I would say I'm Empathic and have good will in my heart for my fellow man.
However I created the topic because their are people out their who are psychic vampires and people should be aware of them.

Last night I was at a group meeting when I encountered yet another person with empathic abilities which were actually quite strong and developed.
He told me that he was a living magnet for absorbing other peoples energies and even has to wear a crystal to protect him from absorbing too much energy from others.
When we 1st. touched palms together it actually almost hurt me because there was too much energy inside of him such jumble of sensations and emotions that it was like someone screaming in my ears.
I had to to immediately let go but later we tried again.
He told me what I felt was all of the emotions and auras of everyone he had met that night in the meeting.
I balanced myself and we joined up again with me allowing all of that to pass through me which was like going through a extremely loud and noisy tunnel.
When I reached the end of it I found this warm wonderful sensation that surrounded me which was his own aura and kindness.
I sent back my energy and we merged together.
He told me that he was surprised that I was that deep and had a strong will inside of me, that I could be great at whatever it was that I chose to do.
I never really realized that I had a strong spiritual will before since no one has ever tried to read me before until now.
He also told me that he sensed my pain as I am often very sad at times. He told me to give him my pain and I just let it out sending wave after wave to him.
He told me he had the ability to heal people, to take out their negative energy and send out his own positive energy.
Thus enabling them to feel better emotionally and physically.
Then he told me to prepare for a heat sensation in my hands which I shortly felt.
He said it would grow hotter and it almost burned like the heat from a hand blow dryer.
But I grew acustomed to the heat and it faded leaving only his pure . positive, clean, caring energy inside of me as well as leaving me drained and light headed with the negative energy now gone.
Perhaps this is another step to further me on my goal to enlightenment.

I don't possess telepathic abilities however I do have empathic abilities.
Even though I still I am not able to see the human aura I do have a very good ability to feel it.
I wasn't always able to do this - it was something that was sort of shown to me and then in time was able to understand and control it on my own.
When I get together for a empathic link with someone who isnt an empath I always tell them to sense for me.
To sense a presence, a sensation, or feeling other than their own.
Or to try to recall how I feel to them when we are apart from each other.
What type of feeling or sensation do they have when they are around me because sometimes what they may recall is my aura energy that they have felt on a subconscious level.

I'm not sure if you a referring to the aura energy field of a person and its natural emissons or not.
Do you mean people who are able to consciously sense the human aura and are empaths such as myself as compared to people who arent?
Well I've found that in my own personal experiences that the energy output by the aura seems less strong in people who are non empaths but is the complete opposite of people who are.
The moment we connect I can feel this instant surge of energy literally overcoming me and a sense of raw undiluted power.
Its a real rush!
And also in addition to that our own aura energy fields are much more quick to able to hook up and interact much more deeply with each other.

I also have over time developed strong psychic bonds with people like mostly with boyfriends and other romantic relations.
I've become so closely joined to them that I can still feel their energy inside of me for years to come at times.
But it is always sad to have developed such a link with someone and not have had the situtation work out.

It is not at all unusual that you should have had such an experience with a family member since we usually spend so much time in our lives with them
There was a time that me and my Dad could sense what the other one was thinking or feeling like if I wanted something he would say that he wanted it to and vice versa.
I dont have to be in direct contact with someone to sense their emotions but I get a much more accurate reading from them both emotionally and personality wise by doing so.
People can try to block themselves off from me but can never fully do so since there is always some type of sensation coming from them.
I think its really great that you try to do things to brighten a persons day if you sense they are down.
People in general should really show more compassion for their fellow man
I'm sure that given time your abilities will continue you to grow and flourish.

Occasionally the underdeveloped aura system with deficient energy resources will develop a habit of invading the aura system of others and drawing energy from them.
This results in an immediate surge in new energy for the vampire and a severe reduction in the energy level of the host victim.
Even though the attack can last for only a short while the effects upon the victim can last for days and can include dizziness, loss of energy, and even nausea.
Repeated attacks can lead to chronic fatigue depressed mood and even possibly physical illness in the host victim.
This happens on either a subconscious or conscious level when the vampire feels a drop in their own energy supply thus resulting in the desire for the basic need to feed.
How does this occur?
The psi vamp can spread out their energy field in such a way that it can be compared to spreading out a set of dark tentacles reaching out and enveloping the host victim's aura and slowly draining the energy directly from it.
As the host's aura dims and fades in intensity the vampire's aura grows brighter, expanding with the new found energy source.
The most important factor in feeding is this transference, which is performed when the psi vamp opens up certain channels or bonds in which the energy current passes through from one body to the other.
These results in an energy exchange between the two persons that is usually mostly one sided with the vampire receiving the most energy.
But sometimes can be a mutual exchange with both persons (the host and victim) receiving energy in a way that neither person has any less or any more energy than the other.
However this requires that both parties make a conscious effort to maintain a sense of balance to support this by the persons participating. In this case both parties involved without either the host or the vampire experiencing any energy loss can receive the benefits of the energy exchange.
This exchange / link can be achieved by the joining of the palms of the hands with one palm facing upwards and the other downwards. The down turned palm enables the energy from the sender to flow into the receiver and the upturned palm enables it to past from the receiver into the sender. Also, intense eye contact combined with deep focus and concentration can contribute to the link as well.
This can be most pleasurable experience due to the intense nature of this procedure.
I find that one can feel the very essence, the very core, the very being of another person's nature in this process.
Except unlike the psi vamp I am an empath and can also recieve the same signals but don't use it in a destructive fashion.
The sexuality, personality, and emotional state can all be received and given in this manner with both persons forming a deep sort of spiritual union, a bond, with both of their auras intertwined.
This can feel as intensely pleasurable if not even more so than an actual sexual union of the bodies which can also be immeasurably heightened if both parties are fully engrossed into each other's being.
Although this practice is commonly thought of only as practiced by vampires the part about both parties coming together in a union can be achieved by persons ( Empaths) with empathic ability as well in a totally non vampire way that will harm neither person.
I feel that with practice and patience almost anyone could learn how to do this and benefit from it in a deeply spiritual way.

Also when we touched I felt that he was attracted to me and I was a bit surprised but not opposed to the notion.
In fact I felt that I sort felt the same way too about him.
I can feel when people are attracted to me but sense it most strongly when we join up together in empathic union and its something that would be really hard for someone to be able to completely block such a thing from me.

I wonder if anyone else out there has had similiar empathic experiences?

Sometimes I dream of fictional characters that are in black and white such as The Munsters>
They appear in black and white while I and everything else is in color.

I have these reoccuring nightmares that either the toilet or bathtub overflows and I'm so terrified that my parents will find out and yell at me.
Which is really rather sad at this point since I am an adult still dreaming these things but I do still live at home so maybe thats why I still dream this stuff.

I have also experienced painful auric veiwing or sensations from others as well.
Usually it is when someone is experiencing the emotion around me and is even more intense when we are in direct contact with each other.
It is a most upleasant thing to feel but then we are all persons with many different emotions.
I can feel often when someone is attracted to me especially if they come into direct contact with me like when I mediate with them.
It can be overwhelming to sense the moods of crowds of people around you and I also find that I prefer to be alone quite often so that I can find some peace of mind.

I prefer keeping my eyes closed most of the time while either meditating alone or with others because its less distracting and more calming.

Last week I had an intense empathic experience with another person( a male aqaintance of mine) who possesses similiar abilities to my own.
We were in a quiet dim lit place and we pressed hands together and meditated.
Almost immediately I could sense his presence and that he was completely aware of me as well something that I don't find in non empathic people often.
I could feel his aura, energy, and person all right down to the very core and fiber of his being and he could feel mine as well.
At 1st I felt he was holding back with me so I asked him to let go because I sensed dark places where I could not go to.
Then he agreed to and all of a sudden coming from his hands I felt like this great warmth this rising heat similiar to that of a radiator and I was just simply flooded and overwhelmed by the tremendous intensity of the sensation.
Then I felt his pain ( he had mentioned that people, friends he knew had died and he grieved for them)
The pain was awful and almost brought tears to my eyes and and even a feeling of nausea to my stomach.
I surrounded him with feelings of my heart felt sympathy and compassion as he accepted them into his being as we bonded together deeper and deeper almost as if merging into one being, mind, heart and soul.
It was only my 2nd. such experience with a empathic person and far more intense and amazing.

Well in my dreams often I have often taken on different personalities and played many different parts.
I have been different people taking on both female and male roles or as myself living a another lifestyle.
Basically whatever role my dream would choose for me to play out as if I were an actor acting out an already scripted play.
It can be really weird at times but is also alot of fun.

I think that I have contributed much of my valuable insight to this group.
However I am always seeking to develop further in my quest for knoweledge and seek the comments of others.
Also I read that there are useful books here on this site and I am most particulary interested in those referring to auras and chakras.

Last night I went to monthly get together at a club and I decided to make an attempt at empathy while there with a guy that I've hung out with before.
At first I stared into his eyes but he didnt feel comfortable with that right away but later did.
I always can sense so much by looking into someone's eyes even before touching them.
Later after trying to explain what I wanted to do and with him having an interest in things physic and claiming to have been read by others we held hands.
I joined together with him and as he is a very private person I sensed that there were dark places withiin in him where I could'nt read him.
I sensed a somewhat pleasant natured person but perhaps someone who didn't fit in well with others probably most when they were in their childhood or teen years perhaps.
Later when I asked him if this was so he said I was somewhat right about that but he being a private person didn't feel comfortable discussing it at that time.
It was overall a curious experience though.

I was just wondering if any other empathic persons were living in or near NYC so that perhaps we could talk further on the topic of Empathy?
