A while ago I, for the first time, felt what I believe was sleep paralysis. Me and my girlfriend were suppose to go to the store, but I was really tired, and we were lying in bed relaxing before we were meant to go. So, I of course tried to keep my thoughts about me so I wouldn't pass out and miss our opportunity to leave.

Well, after a few moments, I 'blacked out' then, seemingly instantly, became aware again. But this time, something was different. I was very relaxed and comfortable. Then, as soon as I went to lift my arm up, it was like it wasn't even there. I halfway knew what was going on, but for some reason (amused by the feeling) felt compelled to try and move my body. I fought to sit up, keeping a constant strain and making the most of an audible sound that I could (which ammounted to no more than a type of hiss between my teeth).

After what seemed like about 10 seconds of straining, I gave way to movement. My girlfriend asked if I was dreaming, but I told her what had happened (she knows of my interests in OBEing). My question is, was this most likely sleep paralysis? And, most importantly, how do I get back to it?

I have tried recalling the way it felt, to try and get my mind to know what I desire. But so far I have had no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

Interesting idea. Could be something worth working towards. Considering I've never had a conscious AP or OBE, I guess I'm far from the first step. But worth looking into I think.

Imagine if you could take that idea to an extreme. To manage things on a cellular level. Perhaps cure cancer in ones self, keep from getting illness at all. Or work towards putting a hault to ageing!

It would be interesting to see how much control you could actually exert over your bodily functions.

Zarklon,

Interestingly enough, I've done pretty much what you're saying. I just wanted to add that I believe this has really helped me find new ways to improve my visualization skills. It seems that once I started interrupting these scenarios on a regular basis that I could better involve myself in conscious scenarios with much more realism. I wonder, have you noticed this happening also?

BTW, I woke my girlfriend up once because I also laughed at what was going on once. Glad you posted something on here about it. Always amusing to relate these things to somone [|)]

I'm glad someone has brought this up. I don't experience "fast" vibrations. To me, I always thought it was more like a rocking sensation. When I was younger I used to ask others if they ever experienced anything like it (I thought it was normal) but they said they never did. Eventually I stopped asking the question after repeated denial of the experience by others. But I digress... I was wondering something of the same, just haven't taken the time to ask.

Do 'vibrations' necessarily have to be fast-high frequency vibrations, or is it just a matter of personal experience (as some of the posts here lead me to believe).

Mildly interesting thread. The one thing I could not help commenting upon with this 'questioning God' theme... the people who posted questions as they were encouraged to by MS under the support of "God" are getting the same cryptic answers. Simply put "No, I'm not answering that how you want me to... but here's a nonsensical answer for you to brood over."

I have no intentions of telling anyone "You're nuts!"... but more over, I wanted to inspire an idea for some people. (This is not a divine idea either, just a common one) "Think a little".

I have doubts that an omnipotent being would decide to start a conversation to seemingly say "Yep, I'm God, but don't distrust that I am God, because I will not answer you truthfully to prove otherwise... just to prove I am in fact confident that I'm God."

This is circle logic.

What I'm really saying is, I don't think anyone is getting anything out of this thread, and seeing as how nothing has been achieved by it yet, I doubt any good will be had from it. Just wanted any newcommers to know that not everyone supports all of the ideas on here. Sometimes somone needs to step up and just say "That's a little far fetched."

I think it would do us good to maintain a bit of credibility in these conversations and to approach things with an open mind, but as well as exercise some common sense. Perhaps MS really is speaking to some entity, but who is to know if it is in fact "The God". I think this should all be taken with a grain of salt.

MS: Please don't bother to consult with the creator on this one. If 'God' wishes to address me on what I've said, he knows where to reach me. Getting an answer through your medium talent would just validate my suspicion that this 'God' had no realm outside of the confines of your own person.

I hope this doesn't come across as too harsh, that's not my intent.

Blessed Be [;)]

I don't know whether or not there's any validity to what you're saying, but it's always great to see somone looking for new ways to think about things. I'm certainly eager to hear anything more you have to say about the topic, and I'm probably going to look down that line of thinking a bit. You definitely never learn anything new unless you explore new ideas.

i find it the hardest thing in the world, if not impossible, to visualize things from the first person.... and I know a lot of people that agree.. it's like, if I look back on a memory, I usually see myself from third person unless it's like a random photo flashback beyond my control....

I know what you mean. I believe we are victims to movies in this respect... we're so used to watching the action of our favorite hero from a distance. Now whenever I catch myself observing me as opposed to 'being me' I quickly become aware and try to snap back to first person so I can experience things more 'wholely'. It certainly takes a bit of practice, but I think it's worth trying to observe things from first person.

I've never messed around with Enochian but I've heard it's dangerous.  Lots of weird stories about possession, enslavement and hauntings caused by using it.  So, I guess, be careful.

Occult texts, especially the older ones, are riddled with 'warnings' and threats. These were mainly a way to scare the uninitiated into not wanting to try any of the rituals. Usually just another way to protect the secrets. Any threat of occult danger should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Maybe you're just expected to "know" or maybe or maybe you have to join a coven for it because it's one of those secrets you can't put in print.

You said Enochian... are they Enochian text or tattwa symbols?
What book did you get this information from?

I withdraw my previous statment. Evidently it was percieved as an entirely negative post. Suppose it's my fault for poor wording [xx(]. Besides, I think the last think this particular thread needs is more negativity [;)].

Hope everything get's worked out for the better. Best of luck, and much love [|)]

Funny thing.. I just created a post about this...

Yes, I read your post.

In answer to your question about getting BACK to it. The first step is realizing there is nothing to be afraid of. This was my first problem.. because I often felt the "presence" of very strange things around me.. and now I wish them away when I reach the paralysis state. At least for me, they obey. (Whatever 'they' are)

I was never 'afraid' but I was... amused I guess I'd say, that I couldn't move. It felt comfortable. But I also knew I had to get up to go to the store.

I just want very badly to know of the best way to get back to that state. It was the most relaxed I had ever been, and it was truely a complete absense of physical sensation.

The question was...how's the "society" on the astral plane?

The society on which astral plane? So far as I understand, the astral has many planes of existance. Much like we have many different social ideas and practices on this finite earth, imagine how many different social 'orders' there are in an infinite existance! Pick the one you like the most [;)]

I don't like the idea of resigning yourself to one way of thinking (i.e. "All of the astral plane adheres to 'this social practice'...") Don't take anyone elses word for it. I figure if anyone knows all the answers, they aren't going to be meandering around the physical.

Your best bet would be to just try and experience it yourself. Search for your own answers. Not to say hearing other peoples experiences is not interesting. I love astral stories [|)]

What do many of you think of Hemi-Sync? Do you think it works? Or even helps? Or is it one of those things that only some people get results out of it, while others not?

I, personaly, believe the program works. As far as I know it's suppose to be useable by virtually anyone.
quote:
Dragen
The concepts of Hemi-Syng are rather intriguing, but does it actually cause the brain to do what they say it does? And why in the world do they have so many different "versions".

I have confidence in what the audio recordings are meant to do. I have seen a few customer posts about it, and all comments point to it being a good program. I assume there are different versions because the narrative on the audio exercises are geared towards different goals.

What do you guys think? Do any of you use it? Any results?

I have just recently ordered and recieved "The Gateway Experince" and have been using it with some regularity. As of now I'm still on the first CD. Personally, I feel very relaxed and comfortable with it. I have practiced relaxation techniques for some time now, and although I don't feel any 'profoundly different' results from the CDs just yet, they certainly help lull you consciously into a very relaxed state, one that I feel I would normally need to spend more time achieving. And, most importantly, you are given suggestions on how to instantly achieve said states of relaxation.

So, personally, I belive the program is worth it. As I progress with it I plan on posting more about it.

That is a lot of heat to move around. Then to psychically suspend almost 40 pounds of ice in the air, while in the heat of battle? If you think this is doable by someone who isn't superhuman or close enough, then I dunno. Doable yes, close to impossible, definitely.
Another thing, you can speculate until the cows come home, but to actually go out and do it is a lot harder.

Odd. I thought I was quite vocal on the idea that it was very unlikely these skills would ever be observed by anyone.
Sorry if I offended you in some unspoken way.

Initially, a short answer, what I believe:
Yes, it is possible to impressively freeze water and project it at will.

The long answer:
It is highly improbable that anyone will achieve the ammount of focus and infliction of will necessary to do it in this life. Further more, if somone were that advanced, they would probably have long outgrown the need for physical existance anyway. [:)]

For amusement's sake:
I'm going to take a few liberties with what is known to be true, so far as metaphysics, magick and higher beings are concerned. (I figure we all in some respect must believe in these things if we're reading this).

For my refference on the higher beings I'm reffering to, I'm going to use "Summoning Spirits: The Art of Magical Evocation" by Konstantinos.

First, whoever wants to control these forces will have to become very proficient in manupilation of a few key things. To do this, said person will obviously need to incorporate some heavy aid from some much more viable source to this information. Hence the higher beings.

Initially you will need to learn to control moisture, the 'fuel' for your icey experiment. For this the spirit known as "Nichsa" can be used. This spirit is said to be able to "...instruct you in the amazing practice of controlling the weather, particularly rain and fog." Allowing you to 'summon' fog, hence your adequate ammount of needed moisture.

After you gain access and control over your much needed water, you will then need to be able to reduce the temperature of it. Seeing as how hot and cold are both considered heat energy, I am going to go out on a limb and say that "Aral" (of the element fire) would be responsible for this. Aral is said to be able to "...teach you how to actually manipulate heat..." thus allowing you to assumdly remove heat energy from an item (i.e. water)

Next, you need to be able to project your newly formed frozen droplets of ice, and invariably be able to compress them on whatever target you aim to freeze. There are two routes for this: Either you can use "Chassan" who can "...teach you how to control the physical manifestations of Elemental Air particularly wind ... to amazing degrees." (to 'blow' your ice in the desired direction) OR
"Mepsitahl" who "...can teach you how to master several occult faculties such as telekinesis..." (to mentally propel your ice in the desired direction).

Now that we have our sources of knowledge presented and the formalities of being learned out of the way, we can get down to application of our new found skills. For simplicity's sake, we'll assume our person has become very adept at these skills, and if you can swim in 7ft. of water, you can swim in 1,000ft. of water (i.e. if you can lower the degree of temperature 1 degree, you can lower it hundreds...) And seeing as how we're making the Sub-Zero reference, our target will be a person.

So, you (our new magickally adept graduate of the aformentioned skills) come across an assailant. Faced with an ensuing fight for you life, you decide to take heed of your amasing skills. Quickly you pull forth a great amount of moisture whilst simultaneously drastically lowering it's temperature to freeze it and, useing a concentration of gale force winds, accelerate it towards your enemy. Disoriented and alarmed, your enemy is quickly over come by the barrage of freezing ice particles and quickly succumbs to fatal hypothermia. As you continue your subzero (no pun intended) assault, whipping the ice laden wind around him, he literally becomes frozen in his tracks. With him immobilized, and in a final fit of rage, you quickly bring in a large ammount of moisture, at the same time freezing it and using your telekentic powers to hold it in mid air while steadily adding thicker layers of ice to it. At last, you propel your eventually large ball of solid ice into your brittle enemy... shattering him.

Certainly an impressive concept.[:)]

Sorry for the HUGE post, but I hope you had as much fun reading it as I have had writing it.

(All quotes in refference to higher beings were gotten from "Summoning Spirits: The Art of Magical Evocation" by Konstantinos... and I know this is a far fetched idea based on a few grains of truth, so please take it for the amusement it is intended as [;)] )

Opiate,

Well, my friend, I feel alot like you in a way. I have never had a conscious OBE/AP to speak of. I have found difficulty when the vibrations arise, or sometimes just lying there. I frequently sense my arms, especially my right arm, tensing up trying to 'raise', and have to make a conscious effort to relax it. I admit, it's difficult and tedious sometimes.

The only thing I can say to you (and myself!) is keep trying and keep knowing it will work. How can you know? I'll share a little epiphany I had with you, it's a simple analogy, but it never really hit home untill I witnessed it...

I have a son, going on 8 months old now. He is almost able to crawl now. He will get up on his hands and knees, rock back and forth, sometimes he'll even make it a small ways forward. Eventually he will get avidly frustrated with himself and start crying and whineing (untill he's picked up of course). In very little effort on my part, and very much confidence I can walk over and kneel down in front of him without loosing my balance. But that shows how far I've come.

The point is, long ago we all had problems developing the simple skills we take very much for granted today. Simple physiological accomplishements every developed human is capable of. But we paid for those accomplishments we take for granted today with alot of frustration before we got here.

Eventually, if we stick with it, we'll come to terms with out abilities. I figure even if I don't do it in this life time, at least I kept trying for it.

Hang in there, keep us updated on your progress and we'll fortify you with a place that will help you hold your interest in these goals. [;)]

Seeing as how you make a Simpsons reference I'm obligated to respond [:)].
Well, the good news and short answer to your question is a resounding "NO!"... bad 'karma' will not interfere with your AP/OBE experiments. But, thinking that it will make a negative influence will cause it to do so. Basically, all you have to do is 'forgive yourself' for the things you thought were 'bad'. A good start (and without putting too much religious idealism into it) is to realize we all do dumb things sometimes, no one is perfect, and I can almost guarantee you that there are people OBEing out there who have done worse than you. Just don't sweat it and you'll do fine.
