I don't know where everyone here is with everything but I would say this video summarizes the most profound teaching I think i've ever discovered. I wish growth and love for you all!

szaxx,
That sounds overwhelming. To experience a false-awakening. I hope I didn't seem arrogant in my post! How does one prepare themselves for that vividness of the astral? I feel like it would be too much, but I would very much like to accept it.

Hello everyone,

I put "fully" in quotations because i'd like to discuss what it really means to fully prepare yourself for a full blown phase/OBE. I think the way i've been perceiving my "waking life" has hindered my understanding of what I'm truly searching for in astral travel. I would like to start by saying, I have a bit of a personal issue with feeling "there" I am constantly focusing my awareness on internal matters and I think this has led to not feeling present in this current reality. In pursuit of the astral reality, I have lost touch with that sensation of existing on this plane. This ability to focus on our present reality is likely to hurt our ability to focus on any reality. This all being said, I've realized it may be time to regard this reality with the same awareness and "there-ness" I would in a full blown astral projection.

Furthermore, I have started asking myself what I find to be a very important question. "What will it be like in the astral?" I think the reason so many people get close to projecting and find their progress constrained, is because it really is that vivd. If during meditation, our consciousness as a whole isn't entirely in tune with that notion, and expecting that,  I would imagine it would be less likely for your subconscious self, and the energy of the astral as a whole, to "let" you in.

Please don't mistake any of my potential insight for knowledge i've acquired from astral travel. I have only successfully entered the astral a few times, and these visits were of very short duration. But I can however, extrapolate by regarding certain commonly reported qualities of the astral as axioms. Our expectations and beliefs HEAVILY affect our experience of the astral. That's not to be kept in mind only when you're "there" but as you attempt to reach it.

There are a lot of incredibly knowledgeable people on this forum, and I may be preaching to the choir here, but this is something I haven't really read about and it has helped me quite a bit and even if this helps one person, that'd be great!

Hey. Just in case you're curious I found my post. I didn't mention much about the dream; I just want to help as much as I can.

This is crazy.

No bs here... Months ago I had nearly the exact same dream, and shortly after, I had my first OBE. It was probably the time in my life where I was most desperate to get out. A difference I need to point out is that in my dream (while not trying to escape from my pursuers) I was practicing AP. When I would get out of body (within the dream) one of the men was always waiting for me, and we would talk. I don't remember much except that he taught me a better way of "teleporting" within the astral. I'm not sure if i ever asked him why I was being pursued, or if he even answered my questions, but this dream was rather extensive and we became kind of like friends. ANYWAY.

At the end portion of my dream I was at a Sonic, in this truck. I was trying to figure out where to go next to escape them. I had this weird sense that they were there and I decided right then I was ready to "die". So, the man from the group who had been talking with me in the dream's "astral" came and hopped in the truck. I asked him all sorts of questions but I don't remember most of them/their answers. I DO remember asking him if we can remain in contact through the astral, because I have many questions, and he said yes. He took me out of the truck and slashed my neck. It was incredibly vivid... I hit the ground and felt myself oozing out of my body.

I awoke with the most intense vibrations I've ever had, and was able to leave my body. It was a really short OBE but it was MAGNIFICENT (my first OBE)

It just blows my mind that you had an experience so similar to mine. In my meditation experiences prior to the dream, I had seen figures of yellow energy standing above me and watching me. I asked them for help but I was extremely nervous. Maybe it was them? Who knows XD.

I posted something about this a long while ago. I'll try and find it in case you're interested.

Are the dots and swirls of colors my third eye? The one time I projected the imagery began this way and became real extremely fast.

Hello everyone!
I haven't really been practicing projection as much lately because i've had a lot of stressful and emotionally draining things going on. Nothing has really changed but I've decided times like these are really trying but can also be a great time to change things about yourself. What better to change than getting to know myself better and how better to do it than meditation/projection?

So, I've come back to all this and i kinda realized I might be missing something that is key to the whole process of actually projecting. This is kind of a weird question but I think you'll understand where I'm headed when I distinguish these two forms of conscious visualization.

When you close your eyes, you see the millions of dots of different colors, they start forming patterns or moving around etc.

However, there is the straight up "ok imagine a... slice of pizza". your focus shifts from the closed eye to some inner picture of a piece of pizza.

When you project, which one of those is the window out? Knowing this will really help me understand where to focus. Thanks!

Awesome experience. Thanks for sharing! Do you still play Runescape? I happen to play also!

Dude.
You need to consider yourself extremely lucky to be able to project so naturally! The only thing holding you back is fear. You should do whatever you can to conquer your fears. With that out of the way, you have so much ahead of you to look forward to!
                                                                                                                                    Best of luck

Kurt,
Can you really "destroy" other entities as you say? Do all the legitimate external entities really not care who we are? In your opinion, of course.

I believe dreams are OBE's and your imagination shapes them :)
#12
This is just a basic theory... but given what I know about mass consciousness, the more people we gout out and projecting, the easier it will be for us to project. I believe it should be the secondary focus after personal spiritual development.
#13
That's so awesome man! Congratulations. You can do anything in the astral; flying will be cake soon enough :)
#14
NoY, are you serious about that? I'm tempted to try it. o.o

That's good advice, I appreciate that. I feel like they'd handle it decently in most cases if I was very careful about how I explained it to them. :P

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / My Life Goal
November 17, 2011, 21:23:44
I know exactly what I want to spend my physical life doing. It's really more of a spiritual goal, but whatever. Anyway, it has recently crossed my mind that when I project I should be able to go and awaken other people and pull them out of their bodies. If so, I could very likely bring about their full conscious awareness. I could explain AP to them, show them around, answer any questions, etc. It would be such a wonderful gift to give to someone! I would plan to organize a group of projectors that go and do this nightly and we could slowly wake the world up :)

Has anyone heard of this type of thing? Any advice?
Thanks!

My advice would be to always breath positive energy and let it flow through you and your room :) It changes everything!

Ryan,
I definitely think you're right about this. I feel silly for practicing this the wrong way this whole time! Now I know exactly what I need to work on :) I feel this should be emphasized more than it was because I never really realized it was so necessary. I knew it was conducive to leaving, just didn't know it was almost a prerequisite.

BTW, since I have you on here... What does the astral energy thing even mean? On our profiles. Just curious!

NoY, that's actually a really helpful explanation, thanks :) . Ryan, I LOVE that video. Learned so much from it. Did he talk about meditation? I don't recall that. perhaps it's time for a re-watching.

OMFG MY ASTRAL ENERGY IS 2!!!! I don't even know what that means I just feel super cool now (:

I don't understand how to literally silence my mind. Do you have any advice for that?
#22
Hello everyone,
I'm going to hope i'm not the only one when I say I am confused about what is considered to be meditation and the ideal meditative state of mind. I really wish I had any further input but I'm really just presenting those two questions and hoping I can discuss this topic with my highly knowledgeable friends on Astral Pulse :)

When we say we need to meditate to help OBE or achieve and OBE, what specifically are we talking about?

What specifically is that ideal meditative state?

Boom,
Thanks for your reply. Pretty much my whole life I've felt a longer for the other side and i've always felt like a veil could be lifted over what's in front of me and it would reveal a new world or something. THEN I found out about AP and I was blown away. I'm not very attached to my life. The prospect of dying doesn't really faze me. I don't hate living, I just feel like i've been around the block too many times. It's hard to explain. All I want to do in the astral is learn and help others leave their body. It's not really escapism. I'm mainly just excited about how much more fulfilling my life will be after experiencing something like this and being able to do so on a continual basis.

Hey guys,
So i've read through most of Monroe's stuff, and obviously most of the stuff on this forum :] It's all been really helpful. I have an insatiable appetite for hearing about OBE's and I was wondering if anyone could point me towards maybe a good book or website for even more.

I thought the same thing, but they are extremely consistent with the questions. Also notable, the wind had no effect on this either. There are sections fo the recording where the wind peaks but there's no interference whatsoever. We also got a voice. Our friend has taken other EVP's where he got words in whispers that were extremely vivid. These things are definitely real and it's slightly unexpected that people on the astral forum would be somewhat skeptical. I mean, I understand being scientific but please take my word I've tried to logically/scientifically refute this.
