Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to Astral Pulse, and rather new to projection, too.  I've successfully consciously projected once (long enough to sit up and pop right into my body again, I was worried about forgetting).

What I'm worried about, however, deals with a couple spontaneous projections I had, lately.

I have a tendency to get real jumpy when I realize I'm out of my body after waking from a dream and I fling a lot of energy around.

So far, I've realized this was sort a bad idea in retrospect.  I'm downplaying it, actually.  I feel really terrible.

This is gonna sound a lot like I'm asking you to enable my denial, which may be true.  But I'm wondering how much damage I could have done to perfectly innocent astral life (not necessarily "wildlife" but anything that "seems" like a lifeform on the astral.)  If I have done something is there a way I could make it up to the above lifeforms?

This has happened twice and I think I have it in my head to control myself from now on, but I guess I'm still worried about the past.

Thanks in advance for any advice and helping to turn around a potentially bad start to something good.

My first post on this forum dealt with something similar.  I flung a lot of energy bolts at some guy I "woke up" to floating at the foot of the bed.  I felt pretty bad afterwards since he wasn't really doing anything nasty except waking me up.  It didn't seem like I actually hurt the guy I encountered, but I wasn't sure.

We've both done something like this so I'm assuming it happens often enough that all the smart little spirits should know to get the hell away if they see a projector who doesn't seem totally lucid.  Maybe we should eventually go on an astral public speaking tour to warn about the dangers of semiconscious projectors or something.

Welcome to Energy Body and The Chakras / NEW

Burningriver:  I have a couple ideas for maintaining concentration.  Take it in small pieces.  Try tactile imaging first.  I think that section isn't too big and I got some minor results pretty fast my first time.  That helped keep me motivated to learn more.  Also, if you're reading the online version, try printing it out if you haven't.  Reading anything off a computer screen makes me sleepy, unless it's very short and my eyes get a break now and then.

Sygmoral:  I think you should stop trying to imagine "seeing" your thumb.  Robert Bruce's statement on vizualiation could be in a confusing place since NEW has very little to do with vizualizing.  It's still an excellent system when you get the basics down.

The point of the scratching and tracing is to get an idea of what sensations you should simulate mentally.  You have to imagine (feeling it, not seeing it) a pressure similar to the one your finger makes pressing on skin and move the pressure around to get the energy sensations.  You don't actually have to move your finger once you get an idea how it's supposed to feel.

Also, If your thumb isn't reacting I suggest you start working on your feet mainly because they react stronger.  After you get some energy sensations and some confidence go back to doing whatever you feel works.

I hit my chakras by accident sometimes.  So far, I've been okay.  I  imagine it's because I don't draw into them directly for prolonged periods of time and when I get unwanted activity I stop.  You have to put more than an accidental amount to do any damage, I think.

I've found that the storage center has sort of a tiny inward sucking feeling, when the chakras pulse instead.  Also, after I've  brought a couple of draws of energy into the sub-navel storage center I start getting the fluttery energy butterflys Robert Bruce mentions in Astral Dynamics.

Hope that helps.  Missing the sub-navel can be annoying.

I've had a few of friends in my early high school years who dominated me emotionally to a great degree.  I don't think any of them overpowered me psychically on a conscious level.  Eventually, I got out of the situation but I had to learn a degree of independance to do it.

You said you end up calling her because it seems like calling her is the only entertaining thing to do.  It might be a good idea to set up a few universal backups you can do in any situation instead of walking into an emotional beartrap.

I'm not sure if you feel you call her as part of her psychic influence so to cover all grounds, you could focus on activities that would seem to be hard to manipulate.  Say, something you've enjoyed doing since you were very young, that way you have a lot of pleasant experiences to back it up.

Or stick to something that is physically pleasurable and offers a additional reward, as well.  Exercise if you enjoy that.

Or you could learn NEW if you haven't tried it, it's on this website and in Robert Bruce's other book Astral Dynamics.  I think it'd be good for a number of reasons.  It's convenient and it might give you some energy to build up some barriers or, if not that, to advance yourself a little more spiritually so you can figure out a little more for yourself instead of taking everyone's word for it.  Especially since some of the people you've listened to have proven unreliable.

Read, learn, educate yourself.

Good luck with whatever you try.

If it's sort a high pitched continuous noise like what electronics or florescent lights sometimes give off, then I have had the same problem.    I usually just focus on my breathing and it shuts out with the rest of the clutter.

Shoot. I forgot to say to make sure it's on the same side as the headache, she did it to the other side first and it just hurt my hand a little.

I had a really sudden terrible headache accompanied by a darkening of peripheral vision last night at my girlfriend's house.  I took aspirin and some much stronger stuff later on but none of it helped even a little bit.  My girlfriend's parent's then followed the advice of a friend of her parent's and massaged the little meaty area between the thumb and pointer finger.  The headache went away instantly and I was fine the rest of the night except a little sick to my stomach from the medicine, I think, since I took it with no food.

I'm not sure if it's the same kind of headache but you could try this for the headache pain, anyway.

Thanks,

I think you're all right about regret in general.  I don't usually hang on to it too long, but it's nice to have around long enough to remind you you're still human and have obligations outside of yourself.  Of course, I also like to hear others say it sometimes.

Dark, I'm not sure how sending out healing energy would work over a distance.  It's a great idea I think, and I'll try it, hopefully I'll give a fair amount back.  I've already prayed and am willing to accept every speck of karma I deserve.

Maybe this should go in another thread or forum, but what exactly happens if you "hit" someone while projecting?  I read the stuff on energy bolts and swords in AD, but maybe I missed this.  Does the damage translate to the physical or etheric body if it's a human?  Or do bolts only work on disincarnate things because their natural baseline of consciousness is astral or something?

Thanks again for all the info. and consolations.
