Can any seasoned reiki healers out there explain what is the effect of "charging" food with Reiki energy. What happens when junk food like pizzas and fries are charged up, does it make it healthy food? What effect does eating Reiki charged food have on the body (both physical and energy)? Thanks [8D]

Something I wrote to a friend: =O)

Remember in statistics and applied statistics classes, we were introduced to the idea of simple regression. So imagine this example, we have two variables, sales and advertising, in which sales is the dependent variable and advertising is the independent variable. If we were to collect the data of the two variables and plot it on the Y-X-axis scales, we will just get a "mess" of data points scattered randomly and it would look like a sea of chaos. So, for the GM who wants to know the impact of advertising on sales, she looks at this sea of chaos and makes no sense of it. But, with knowledge of applied statistics, she uses econometric and statistical tools, to actually plot a regression line that best fits the data, and thus producing a simple cause and effect explanation for advertising on sales. And therefore the act of plotting a regression line along the data points, is actually an act of finding or obtaining structure through chaos. The act of applying statistics to the data is actually also an analogy of mankind's use of modern science and intelligence to make sense of his environment, his understanding of the universe and of the nature of reality. However, we also know that in statistics, when you fit a regression line to explain a phenomenon, you can never expect to obtain the true representation of the phenomenon. So, for example, you might run the regression and get y = 10 + 3.9x + error term (error term refers to the fact that you can never get a "perfect" regression line) but in fact, the true phenomenon is actually y = 9.5 + 3.6x, thus we only obtain a proxy for the phenomenon. This example only serves to show that using intelligence will only get us so far and the redeeming component is actually creativity (as expressed by the social sciences, arts and music). When one uses creativity, she ultimately realizes that there are numerous patterns and perspectives (not at all judging or narrowing down of choices to see things) and when all these patterns and perspectives are combined, we will return to obtaining the sea of chaos, thus, from structure(s), we obtain chaos. In fact, applying creativity to the regression, she might obtain y = 9.8 + 3.7x or y = 9.7 +3.8x and combining the number of possible regression in a creative way, she will obtain a regression line that is a more accurate depiction of the true phenomenon. Of course, it is best to possess both creativity and intelligence.
This applied statistics example can also be applied to the realms of metaphysics. Imagine the sea of chaos (the data points) actually represents what the universe is. Being human beings, we are not able to fully comprehend the nature of our existence, the nature of the universe and our relationship with God. God, having great love for his/her creations, sends down to Earth numerous messengers, Jesus, Buddha, prophet Mohammad, Sai Baba, various Christian saints to guide and assist humanity in learning about their true heritage and developing that aspect of unconditional love that is within all of us. Of course, again, human beings, being limited in intellect, creativity and virtue, misinterprets or knowingingly (for political reasons for or for control) changes the teachings of the masters. Thus, Budhhism having the regression equation: y = 9 + 10x but due to the mis-actions of the followers and devotees, the regression equation becomes y = 11 + 8x. And in my opinion, this has happen to all religions, none were spared. And in terms of different religions, it is in my opinion, that each can be seen as a division of science, so for example, we can think of Islam as biology and Christianity as chemistry, while Hinduism is physics. And YES, each of these religions has their own independent regression line and if we were to combine these regression lines, we will be able to detect and make sense of the seas of chaos and thus obtaining better understanding of our existence and our relationship with God.
In terms of application to daily life, I guess I just highlighted the importance of creativity in obtain a better understanding of who we are and what we have come here (Earth) to do and working towards obtaining the true desires (not necessarily fame & wealth) of our hearts. How to become creative? It is to exercise non-judgmental concepts and giving freely unconditional love to all around us. Avoid criticisms of others, understand that we are not them and can never understand perfectly why they chose to do this or that and that they too are trying their best to make sense of life and react in a way that they feel is best. Accepting the fact that we all have flaws and imperfection is by itself an expression of perfection or that there is no such thing as perfection. Be loving to everyone (yes, it is hard, especially when certain people view you as their enemies or something but remember the teachings of Christ, i.e turn the cheek principle). When we no longer judge (or at least restrict the judgments), we will see numerous patterns, points of views and perspectives that we could never see when we were busy passing judgments on people and the surroundings.

quote:

Well in buddhism the demon is souly a product of the subject's mind.
And, well, they aren't demons and angels, they're asuras and devas.
Angel='holy' servant of the judeao-christian god who adheres to him very strictly, however are not entirely postive as in their mythology they do mass murder and spread famine and disease.

Demon=A greek word meaning something different but used to name the "fallen angels" who deceive people by impersonating angels in the dead in mediumship, necromancy and divination, are behind all occult practices and use other religions to 'deceive' humans including spiritualty and spiritualism.

To a buddhist, a christian angel is an asura or mara of 6th heaven because they adhere to something which prevents cultivation.

Hi LJ57,

yes, it would be good to have another reiki healer in this world. Becoming a reiki healer is an easy process. There are 2 ways to go about it: 1)non-traditional reiki 2) traditional reiki
For 1), search out reiki sites and forums, there will be some in which there are reiki masters who will attune people (done over long distance e.g. u get attuned when u r in US while the reiki master is in Netherlands) for reiki for free (attunement is as simple as sitting on a chair with your hands stretch out on your knee caps and relax while the reiki master inputs the reiki symbols into your aura)BUT the task of educating yourself to be a healer is DIY and u should buy "Essential Reiki - A Complete Guide to an ancient healing art" by Diane Stein, it contains everything u need to know to educate yourself in the healing arts. In 2), you have to look for a trustworthy reiki master in your city/neighbourhood (he or she has a certficiate or gives out certificates when u r attuned) who will atune u (done in person) for a fee (it depends on the person) and will be responsible for educating u in how to use reiki. The traditional reiki masters tend to be overly conservative but the training is thorough. As for me, I belong to category 1). [:D] It has its pros and cons....

Mmmm...not sure if it has been said b4 but more feeling is that allergies are again related to karmic lessons. To uncover what these lessons, proper usage of reiki symbols (perhaps sei-he-ki and dai-ko-myo) might help gather info. From there, it is for the person to work on his lessons. Once the karma is cleared, I believe the body (be it energy or physical)will adjust apprioprately.
Of coz, this is easier said than done, I have not developed the ability to receive divine info on the person I am healing....
Has anyone developed this extra sense? [:I]

Btw, I forgot to add that based on "their" beliefs, wouldn't the TV series "Touched by an angel" be considered Satantic?? [}:)]

PS: In the show, a trio of angels come down to Earth in human form to interact and help out needy souls.

Yup, I aint a Christian. And I believe the concept of light and darkness aint exclusive to Christians. Both Buddhism and Hinduism also believe in demons (asuras) and angels (devas) but do not place much emphasis on them.
I had frequent discussions with a Christian friend and yes, he stubborn refuses to see otherwise: all forms of divination and "magic" is the devil's product BUT I read this argument on another thread: isnt saying a Christian prayer also invoking higher forces to help u, isnt saying in your mind "Dear Lord, what I shall I do" divination, Jesus raised the dead in the bible, Hey! isnt that necromancy!
I believe Christians have already been dabbling with "magic", jus that "their magic" is legtimate". My Christian friend told me how the church founder's wife has the ability to sense other people's emotions and act accordingly. For crying out loud, if he read more books on pyschic development, he would have known it is clarisentience. [|)]

Yup, Hitler certainly f***ed things up. Providing new meanings to terms and symbols which people have long thought otherwise. Speaking of which, isn't there a current world leader doing the same?
Hint: Misunderestimated[:P][:P][:P]

Believe me, the hungry ghost month is purely an invention of superstitious Chinese.
From where I come from, the Chinese do believe in it. Equally strange ideas of burning paper made houses, cell phones and servants, thinking that the burnt items will transported to "hell" for the enjoyment of the deceased. And equally odd belief is that everyone goes to hell, to suffer for their sins and after "cleansing", return to be incarnated as humans or animals (if u did many bad things[:(][xx(])
Till today, I am still amazed why "thinking" adults can believe in these things????

My fitness level has improved much since I gone into the NEW system. Also, my memory and creativity has improved quite a bit too. Real amazing what it does.

This article provokes one to rethink the current Buddhist Teachings and I am kinda agreeable to it.[8]

Hang in there. When one goes into the NEW inititally, there is always a whole list of side effects but with practice, it will wear off. Besides, does not the light-headedness show that the NEW sys has an effect on your body? [|)]

I believe the Oujia Board is the product of dark forces, while the tarot card sys is the product of forces of the light. Of course, neither side tells us anything, it is up to us and our "free will" to figure what is going on. [:o)]

I've done regression. Bad example of creativity. Its the same y = a + b*x form. Y = a + b*x + c*x^2 + d*x^3 + e/x + f^x is a more creative solution, where a-f are statistically determined. It will always be more correct because it contains the original form.

You seem to interpret creativity as a "more is better" idea, and your equations seem to suggest that creativity can be quantified. I hardly think so, creativity has no form or quantifiable amount, it can take any form or any amount anytime anywhere. Essentially, creativity is/are inspiration(s) from a higher source and thus, it is pointless to dwell on forms.
From an econometrics point of view, you have also wrongly suggested that the more explanatory variables a regression has, the better. But instead of just 6 variables, why not have 1,000 variables, better still, have a 10,000! This is wrong, simply because the more variables u add, of course the R-squared that u get from the regression also increases! In fact, a good regression is one that has as little variables as possible when maintaining a good R-Squared. The whole idea behind a regression is that to try to examine/represent a phenomenon as simple as possible, thus having as little variables as possible.

Should one religion get more weight in the statistics than an other?

An answer to your question would be: there is no point in quantifying religions to compare with each other. GOD IS IN ALL RELIGIONS!!

Many religions are offspring of others and should be thought of as the same religion for the regression.

Maybe not. Essentially, the idea is that since the beginning of Lemuria, highly evolved beings have chosen to incarnate in physical forms as avatars of god, and teach human beings about the nature of reality and how to connect to God again. Of course, each of these avatars have their own inclinations towards certain ideas and taught the idea of spirituality differently, thus, Buddhism is rather different from Christianity.

Appreciate your comments! [:)]
