Welcome to Dreams! / My partner dies/is killed
November 20, 2007, 17:40:02
Hi, I'm looking for some meaning for this dream. Mostly I'm looking for "she won't really die" lol, but I guess I'm really looking for honesty so tell me what you think.

The dream is fragmented, I have trouble remembering everything. The biggest point I remember is that she has a large eye wound in her left eye, as if she had been shot or stabbed in the eye. I don't really recall how or when I saw her, or if she had been murdered, but I remember a blank expression on her face like nothing had scared her. Also unsettling is that the dream seems somehow familiar, I dont remember having it before, but it did seem familiar for some reason. It was very realistic, I remember being very relieved when I woke up!

There was also a scene that seemed to repeat several times, like as if I was looking around a corner or into a room, and I think a bathrobe or curtain or piece of clothing was hanging just in view around the corner. I hope if I ever see this scene I can recognise it and get the hell out lol!

After she had died there was also a strange situation where me and a couple of friends were in the kitchen or bathroom and a celebrity from tv had sort of materialised, (yeah I think the dream was sorta getting wierd here) we were all very relieved to see him, but then he dematerialised and we were unhappy...wierd. I dont know if this has much to do with anything...

Please tell me what you think.
Cheers

So am I correct in saying then that from this double slit experiment, the lesson is that if you observe/think about anything it will sort of "appear where you think it should"? Ie manifest? I wonder if they've tried putting a scientist in that room and making him meditate on the streams coming together :P

Hey Selski,
Thanks for that, I found the parts about the house being me and the "something being more valuable than otherwise suspected" particularly interesting... Its funny though because if anything, lately Ive found that something I thought wasn't so valuable has turned out the other way around, unless Im about to get another reversal!

Its funny this dream stuff, even if you had a vivid one about a relationship ending or your business going under, you still have to think "was this 'just a dream' or should I take any action". So in the end you still really dont know what to do hehe.

Thanks again,
Regards,

Straight from my dream journal:

"Driving in a secluded wooded area, not suburbia. Came down a lengthy driveway to a house and went inside, was with 2 other people, my friends? We were looking for something, I have a feeling we were trying to steal something or find something specific, as I recall seeing big tv's and hi fi systems yet we didn't really take any notice of them. We were about to leave having found nothing when someone noticed a loose corner piece in the roof and pulled on it. Heaps of dirt or rubbish fell out along with a massive (head sized) golden egg. It was like a rock shaped egg, not gold all over but more veined/speckled. We took it and left the house very exited and overjoyed but soon after it lost the golden sheen and it was nothing more than a piece of garbage stone with no gold visible at all. The dream ends around that point."

Does anyone have any ideas of what this could mean? Would love to hear your thoughts.

QuoteWhats worrying but typically human is that there are plenty people out there who are*desperate* for such 'end of the world' scenarios to be true, as they are so unhappy with aspects of their own lives that they wish more than anything for something to come along and shake things up.. apocalypses, demon wars, vibration changes and so on fit the bill.

hahahaha! This sounds so familiar within my group of friends LOL! I wonder how many people like this think it might be fun or interesting, but when/if it actually happens theyd turn into quivering terrified wrecks and would start wishing everything was nice and easy again :)

Im already pretty much perfect so Im not sure what to do! :)

Seriously though thats something I always wonder. I always read about all these important questions that are asked/answered during OBE's and all of that, but I cant think of anything I would ask a guide or my higher self. The only thing I can think of which is only of partial use is that if I can prove to myself that there is an afterlife I wont be quite as scared of dying. But if thats the case, then you cant use the old "you only live once" thing to make yourself do stuff! :) Its like, well Im going on to bigger and better things anyway so may as well just bum around haha.

So Id like to add to this general topic and ask people what (other than having fun) they try and acheive or ask in OBE and for what purpose.

Cheers, have a good one.

Ive got really good vision but in the past few-4, 6 months (?) my eyes have been getting really sore. Ive looked at computer screens my whole life but never had a problem until now.

One thing Im wondering is if I may have strained my eyes from my meditation/obe attempts(!) That may sound stupid, but I do find myself sometimes trying hard to focus on things behind my eyes and they are a bit sore afterwards. I have to continuously tell myself to stop crossing/focussing my eyes. For some reason it seems that when I get into certain states I start to cross my eyes or do something strange... Anyone else get the same thing?

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Hypnic jerks
February 26, 2005, 09:41:30
I had a really wierd one in yoga class the other week. At the end of class you lie down in "corpse pose", sort of like meditation and relaxation at the end. Anyway during this I had one or two normal leg or arm twitches but I also had an "exhalation twitch" where I forcefully exhaled very quickly, I have NO idea what that came from and cant remember dreaming of getting punched in the guts or anything! :)

I never flipped but Ive also tried using my tramp experience as an exit technique or loosening technique, its probably one of the better ones Ive tried, as you dont need to focus on moving body parts either, you just bounce and try and remember the experience of rising and falling.

Its not a scam and theres several websites talking about/confirming that it indeed isnt a scam. I made a post about the hunger version of this site in astral pulse but cant be stuffed finding it... :)

Hi Raburu,
Your description of being pulled like a magnet is the best Ive heard for what I experience. And its kind of uncomfortable as well. I think its some sort of frequency/vibration change or "exit sensations" and usually I get visions of tunnels, but so far Ive rarely gotten past these feelings. Ive been trying to will these feelings back now that Ive had them a few times too, which Ive had limited success with. My biggest problem is just relaxing into it...

I cant wait to read your book, Frank. I volunteer myself as test reader in the mean time ;)

I recently had a "low level" phasing experience, but when I go through creating an environment/scenario, I rarely get images of the intended location, but I regularly get flashes of images of random scenes. Ill get bored that Im not getting anything out of visualising my intended scene then, yeah, along come these random images/scenes. It feels like I enter a dream for a second or two, become aware that Im seeing something, then slip back out again (as commonly discussed). The other similarity is that its not easy to remember what Im seeing. Does your level of lucidity and recall increase as you practice? Also how do I know Im not slipping into and out of dreams? Two rare experiences Ive had I know are definitely not, but only because they were so overwhelming :)

Yeah Ive seen this too, blew my mind. I went on to read a heap of related material and Im so damn disturbed.

I also asked myself what was different that night, and apart from having a couple of beers, (!) I cant remember anything. Most of my experiences so far seem so random which is annoying because obviously I cant try to replicate them.

As well as your question, Time Traveler, about imagery, Id like to know where hypnogogic images "stops" and phasing "starts"? Or are they the same thing? Ive had a similar experience just yesterday and dont know how to classify it. Can you "phase" into hypnogogic images?

Hello,
Thought Id tell people about my latest experience, and would love to hear feedback if possible. Ive hardly been doing any active meditation or energy work lately, but I always do just before I go to sleep (yes I know, probably a bad thing)
So to get to the point, last night I was lying in bed, doing my usual meditation/clear mind exercise and to my surprise I first saw a series of shards of random images, which then turned into a single moving image which I can barely recall, but I think was of myself looking down kicking a soccer ball around. The image was vignetted around the edges (darker) and the whole thing was tinted green which I found odd. Ive never heard about anything like that... Unless it was the green grass that made me think it was tinted but i don't think so. It was also strange in that the image was jittery, like a video which was advancing frame by frame. I willed it to be smoother and it did, and then eventually disappeared. At one point I half opened my eyes which Ive done before during these sort of experiences but that didn't affect it. I kinda like that I do that, because it proves its not a dream!
Almost forgot it had happened until the next day too which wouldn't have been good at all! I guess because I was so close to the sleep border it made it hard to remember.
Does this sound sort of like phasing? For some reason I didn't think to move into it, I might have been scared of breaking the state... Or maybe I was too preoccupied by the slo mo nature of it...
Would love to hear peoples thoughts.
Regards,
JAW

I always find it odd that people who are enlightened will say how they found answers to questions and so on but then never go into specifics. Surely if theyre enlightened then they can teach us things theyve learnt from being in that state? Can anyone answer that one? (Im not trying to say people are lying or keeping things from non enlightened people)

Welcome to Dreams! / Another flood dream
December 27, 2004, 07:37:46
I wonder if this had anything to do with the tsunami that just hit south asia. Obviously the tidal wave part and also regarding people knowing it was coming, ie, there was a quake, the wave could be seen incoming, then obviously the place is flooded... Or it could be totally chance, thought Id mention it anyway.
My thoughts are with all the families of the victims, what a tragedy :(

I think reading and learning are good things to do when in this sorta state. It keeps your mind occupied, you feel you are growing, becoming a better person and so on. You might want to read things on relationships, self help books, and anything related to your situation/what youre interested in. You may find yourself initially searching for answers but then forgetting about it and learning some good stuff... Or maybe you arent a reader... ;) Good luck, I know I speak for everyone when I say you are in probably the most useless, down feeling/mood there is. If only you could fast forward time out of it... :P
