I recently went on a magic course site.  They are selling this Orgone Energy generator.  I know this is something to do with Reichian theory.  Does anybody know anything about this?  Is it a load of mony making crap or what?

I have ready a few meditation books and magic books and they talk about the need to empty the mind or achieve a state of not thinking etc... .  How is this achieved.  What does it actually mean.  I mean, if I think of an empty space it's still a thought, right!.  I would appreciate comments and help here.

Thanks Nimzomyth

I had my first concious OBE on magic mushrooms (Note! I am not condoning thier use).  This experience was extremely intense and also i feel a little bit dangerous as I had no control over what was happening after exit.  Has anyone else done this and what was your experience.  How do you feel about this.  My own opinoin is that it is best not to use drugs to achieve OBE, but they do work and can be used as a shortcut to a trancelike state.

What you guys seem to be seeing is energy as Tom says.  This was described by Reich as Orgone Energy.  I have been seeing this for a good few years now.  At first it got me worried.  I asked a doctor and an optician what it was and they didn't have a clue.  It was only when someone pointed out that Reich had identified it as a kind of "energy of magic" that I was relieved.  I would say that seeing it is definately a good sign.

This is a description of what I personally see -

Seen best on a white wall or by looking up at clear sky, these dots or stars move in a regular pattern, appearing and disappearing.  Some have described them as electric tatpoles.  Sometimes when concious of them they seem to blur or create and aura around what I am looking at.  They are not floaters.  Floaters are like a grey smudge that follows the eye as it moves.  I hope this helps

Thanks for the advice Tish, and thanks everyone for their comments.  I think you are right.  I have had a good few trips and tried to analyse them afterwards.  The only conclusion I came to is that mushrooms are a living entity.  To many, this sounds mad I know, but analysis of mushroom trips seems to bear this out.  Obviously maturity is required to deal with this and it is obviously better to do things naturally.

Why is life and nature so cruel at times then?

Hey peaceful

I am an ex-Jehovah's Witness and I am sure they would come down on me like a ton of bricks in the past if I was found on this site.  Dosn't the Mormon faith frown upon this sort of thing.  Or are you really here to bring us all to the real faith.  Don't get me wrong no offence is meant.  I'm sure your intentions are good.  But I personally turned away from what I considered to be a cult to search for real truth in the occult (hidden) realms.

Thanks Bikkhu -

Like the quote at the end there.  (Biblical).

Thank you very much, that should be a real help.  Now I know what direction to head in.  I am looking forward to my meditation tonight.  I'm hoping to make some real progress with my magical development.

Gandalf,

I am sorry to hear about your fear and how it is affecting you.  But, I hope you will eventually realise that you are quite gifted to be able to exit on your first attempt.  For many it is very difficult and takes mind training and energy excercises.  I can relate to you slightly because I had my first concious outer body experience in a drug induced state.  This was extremely intense and freaked me out (and my friends and brothers) for a while.  Nevertheless after thinking about it, I relise now that this was essentially a spiritual and positive experience (Note, I am not condoning the use of drugs to help with OBE.  It is better to do it naturally) it has made me think about life very differently and now I am ready to experiment with OBE more.  Hope you get over the fear.

Best wishes -

Thank you for your comments.  Is this the idea that you allow your thoughts to go by without getting emotionally involved in them, as if you are simply an observer.  I read about this in one of the books.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / The Kabbalah

Iv'e read quite a few books on Kabbalah, but I have to say reading and doing are two very different things.  Kabbalah is a practical art as well as a science and religion.  The very best books I have read for practical magical development and Kabbalah are the series of books by Franz Bardon.

1 Initiation into Hermetics
2 Practice of Magical Evocation
3 Key to the True Kabbalah

Check them out.

I once had a OBE on magic mushrooms.  (Note! I am not condoning their use).  Just before exit I saw all sorts of symbols rush towards me.  Ancient to modern.  I can't explain why this happened, i'm just stating my experience.

My belief is that God is nothingness.  Therefore it(he,she) is in everything and is everywhere but also not.  Does that make sense?  I also believe that humans have the capacity to be godlike.  But only after gaining a full understanding to the Tetragrammaton (thus becoming a true magician).  See books by Franz Bardon.

Something friends get tired of hearing me say -

Destroy the ego - Truth is truth, it's not what you want it to be.

I play in a band.  Prog Rock ish.  It's called Aftermyth.  I read a lot. Recently been reading Franz Bardon (highly recommended).

My favourite hobby.  Chess.  Hence the name.  Based on my two favourite Chess Players Aron Nimzowitsch and Jose' Capablanca.

Tool have really developed as a band.  Progressive and Spiritual.  They really have something to say.  For another spiritual band (although not so agressive) check out Dead can Dance.

Great to here people talking about Tool on Astral Pulse.  Iv'e been trying to tell people about their lyrics ever since Lateralus came out.
