I have this problem too, living right next to the freeway! I bought an ipod and some big headphones (the ones that cover your ears not the plugs). I put on some binural beats as stated above and its great! Can hardly hear any of these distractions. Make sure the headphones are nice and big and are the ones that dont let much sound out.

Wow...  seems everyone is obsessed about the fact that the "spirit" was blue. The main point that I was tryin to make is that I was sitting up, eyes open, talking to someone that wasn't there, but I was in a dream state. Everything around me was normal except for the person there talking to me. I would then become fully conscious, still sitting in that same position, and they would disappear and I wouldnt remember what we were talking about.
Also the incident when I was a kid actually running down the hall, fully conscious seeing letters coming out of my bedroom door... what was with that!!??

I used to have alot of these experiences where I would be talking to someone who was on my bed and then suddenly wake up and be in the same position physically sitting up or crouched on the end of my bed. These people always looked blueish in colour, kind of ghost like but I had never met them before. I would always shrug it off and conisder that I was dreaming and just go back to sleep in a normal sleeping position .
Now that I think about it, could it have been that I was talking to spirits with astral sight and be sort of sleep walking to be sitting up like that? This used to happen alot when I was younger. Something similar that I will never forget was when I was tramatised by my nightly astral spiders coming into my room I would run screaming to my parents bedroom. On one particular night I happend to look back to my room and saw words (or just jumbled letters) coming out of the doorway, yet I was fully awake. Could this be the same thing that I had astral sight when fully awake?
My Mum used to say that every morning I would tell her about a bushranger that came to talk to me at night. I dont remember this but apparently I would explain in great detail what he looked like and what we talked about. I wish I had the astral skills I had back then, now (minus the giant spiders that used to attack me ).
Anyone else had similar experiences?

Ive been having alot of Battlefield 2 dreams lately ;p. Dreaming im a sniper and whatnot. Had one the other night but it was like world war 1 and we were under really heavy artillery fire in the trenches. And Will Farrell was there next to me screaming his head off . That was a bit weird and scarey... he was dressed like he is in the movie "The Producers". hahah

Yea i've had one such experience when I was younger. That night I had been mucking around with my brother playin tag and wrestling in the house. I had just gone to bed and was wide awake with my foot hanging over the side of the bed when I felt a hand voilently grab my foot. I pulled my foot up thinking it was my brother and looked under the bed to find nothing. To this day I dont know what happend but the experience was very real.

Heh yea I have given up trying to explain OBE's and anything astral to my friends. They just give me wierd blank stares. Thats why this forum is so good... you cant see the looks on peoples faces reading it!  haha  

On an entirely random note.. I just got the Mastering Astral Projection book. Huzzah!

Thanks for the replies!! I think my fear about this comes from the bad experiences when i was a kid. I used to go screaming to my parents bedroom almost every night. My dad even slept in the room and had a tape recorder going to see if there was anything there.. those astral spiders were scaareey!!:shock:  It is good to now be able to put a reasoning to these experiences. Anyway.. I am really excited about finding out about anything astral.. i am totally surprised about how real and cool the energy work is! However to progress further i think i need to get over those same fears i had as a kid.

On another note.. do you guys ever talk about this stuff to other people?? I sorta gave up after the first 100 wierd looks... heh ... narrow minded people

Well i have been reading about anything astral for some time now.. and i wonder if it is better to be blissfully unaware like the majority of people out there... maybe im just being paranoid or looking too much into the negative stuff.. let me explain.

I first started looking at this stuff awhile ago and while i found it very interesting.  I never practised any of the stuff in here. Revcently i have started looking at it again and i have just ordered Mastering Astral Projection. While it is being delivered i got Astral Dynamics from the library and have started energy work. Ever since i started doin this the lower toilet in my house has been bubbling at random times during the day.. often starting when i walk in the room. I used to be terrified as a kid about very real nightmares of large spiders coming into my room and attacking me that i now put down to astral negs. Now maybe i am lookin into this a bit too much but doesnt all this freaky stuff deter anyone from delving deeper into it? Since starting energy work my dreams have become alot more vivid, and often when walking around i get cold energy surges running through my back. Maybe i am just accociating all this with the energy work...  

Its quite interesting because in some of the cases these people tell of "angels" coming to take them into the light. Possibly astral helpers? If these always come.. why are there people trapped in the real time and need to be saved? Could you simply say to them "no im not ready to go!"

Just another random thought i came up with.. but could alot of mental illnesses be in fact related to the person having information passed from their astral body to themselves? Things such as schizophrenia where people hear voices in their heads,  could this be the same as where one is about to project and hears voices? Also could they be viewing the world through their astral eyes or something similar, as they often see distortions in reality..,?

Just a thought

In most of these experinces these people did not fully understand the astral realm and what was going on. Now, if someone who has practised AP for a long time and is familiar with moving around and doing things, could they have more control about whether they live or die in a near death experience??  

Hey all!
I just joined the forum and i have a few questions about the brain wave generator...
Firstly, does anyone know of any long term effects of manipulating brain waves or has anyone experienced any effects from the generator?? I downloaded it last night and the comments on the site about it seem very vauge. Also does anyone have a key for it coz the updated version doesnt allow you to import any other file other than the original "preset.bwg" file [].

Yea with the dependance thing, i have found myself using it alot! Since im only new to meditation, i will just hope that it is what you say cube, that it is only like training wheels. Anyway thanks for the responses guys and if anyone else has any more comments about it, it would be appreciated...
