Hello Eloquence,

I was terrified the first time I came close to projecting. I even cried for help! Of course no one could hear me because it was my astral body that was shouting ;) But like astral_neophyte explains, after having projected a few times, the fear went away. I believe the astral is scary because it is unknown to us. Once it feels more familiar, it's not as frightening anymore.

I had the lights on in my room, because that made me feel safer. Sometimes I even had the TV on. Maybe you could try the same? Anything that makes you feel more secure is good :)

Keep up the good work. You're very cose!

Hello Indigo,

I've met a few negative entities, and they've never harmed me. The ones I've met have been like bullies, - they're annoying and somewhat scary, but not dangerous.

It can't hurt to say a prayer of protection before attempting to go out of body, and even when in the astral. Burning white sage in your room should help keep it clear of entities.

Have fun projecting!

Hello TheSilver.

When you were trying to project, how often did you practice? It's important to practice everyday if you can, and not just at night, because you might be too tired then, and will fall asleep. It can be very hard to project, but all you really need is concentration. Concentration and sleep :)

Yes, it's not easy to help someone out of body. Or I imagine it not to be, since I've never attempted it myself. I've heard about projecters meeting friends that were asleep in the astral, without being able to wake them up.

Best of luck to you  :-)

Hello,

I'm pretty sure you can start going out of body again, if you just practice. Practice as often as you can, ever day. What makes you project instead of falling asleep is concentration. So work on that. Maybe the accident did something to your ability to concentrate?

Best of luck!

Hello Steel Hawk,

Congratulations on projecting!

Don't worry about being afraid. That is the most natural thing in the world when facing the unknown. The important thing is that you don't let it scare you from trying to project again (if you want to continue exploring the astral). The fear will gradually go away as the astral become more known to you.

Having the lights on when trying to project can make an astral practice seem less scary. When I first started having OBEs I also liked to have the TV on, to make the house appear less empty and silent. Anything you can do to feel safe is good.

Good luck!

It could be. I guess anything is possible. It can be tricky to understand the meaning in dreams. It's best to use your own intuition to best understand what they're telling you.

When you experience partial separation, it can help to relax deeper. Tensness seem to make it harder to separate from the body. You might also have to get up to project fully, or maybe roll out of your bed, (I enjoy that method)  Sometimes you will simply float out of your body, but I have only experienced this a couple of times.

My point is that when you feel parts of your body starting to float, it might be time to get up :)

Yes, sounds like you're good on your way to projecting into the astral  :-)

I just want to add that sometimes we can be in the astral without realizing it. We don't always realize that we have seperated from our body. This has happened to me a lot, and it's quite annoying lol. If you're wondering if you've projected, you can always try to get up, or just try to move your hand through the mattress. Of course, it will break the trance if you haven't projected. Heh.

Good luck!

Wow, that sounds so amazing AndrewTheSinger

Maybe what you saw were elementals? I think they live in the astral, and can look like little people, fearies, dwarfes, etc.

Hello,

I've heard that the reason behind us leaving our physical body when we go to sleep, is so that we can recharge, get new energy. Apparantly that can't happen when we're in the physical body, because we're using it, - we're awake. To be asleep means that our consciousness is in the astral, and not in the physical body.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Re: Being Still

It is important to be still, but don't push yourself to the point that you no longer enjoy the practice. It's important to enjoy the practice so that you keep on practicing

Hello Astraldude,

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my parents some years ago, and sadly I haven't been able to meet them in the astral. I only heard my dad call my name once. The only way for you to know if you can see your mom in the astral, is to meet her yourself. It's a wonderful goal to have.

But it takes practice. Practice astral projection as often as you can. It is worth it!

Perhaps when you tell yourself you're dreaming, you're not really questioning it? There are ways to check if you're in the astral, such as pulling your finger to see if it stretches, jumping to see if you float, or see if you can put your hand through the wall. Most likely none of these will work though, if you don't question if you're dreaming, if you're not really wondering. You can also ask yourself if you're in the astral during the day, and perhaps pull your finger to see if it stretches. This way you will start to ask the same question in your dreams.

The astral is not an illusion. It is real :)

Relaxing further has helped bring the vibrations back for me. So maybe try that? And don't worry about hearing, or feeling everything people talk about. The astral experience is different for everyone. Some people don't even get the vibrations :)

Good luck!

What I try to do when I want to remember my dreams, is not to move when I wake up in the morning. It takes practice, but it helps. I lie still, close my eyes, and try to remember.

I've heard that when we wake up, the physical and astral body are not fully connected, so if we don't move it's easier to recall our dreams because we're still in the astral. In a way.

Best of luck to you :)

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Re: Too Tired?

It might also help to be focused on what you do during the day. I like to try to do one thing at the time, and be concentrated on that.
This way you build up concentration, and will have an easier time being concentrated when doing your astral practice. It can also make your dreams clearer, as you would start daydreaming less when in the astral.

Best of luck to you  :-)

Most of the time I start my projections at my childhood home. It's interesting. I guess I feel safe there, since I've lived there most of my life. I also had my first projections there.

I think I can relate. I have projected for a while now, and most of my experiences are just.....silly. I think this is mostly due to lack of awareness when out of body. I would have problems seeing, or I'd just fly around without being able to remember what I wanted to do, or I'd fall into a dream. When I finally met a being I wanted to talk to, I would get excited and instantly return to body.

Still, I find my experiences priceless. I love waking up from an out of body experience, even if it's just lasted for a minute. I love the feeling of being in touch with the unseen dimensions, being able to fly, move through walls, being in a world of unlimited possibilities.

Like with all things though, we have to practice to get better at it. With practice we can project more often, and stay out longer. What helps me as well, is to be aware during the day. I also like to concentrate on one thing at the time, and try not to daydream as much. If we daydream here, we will also daydream in the astral, and cause projections from the subconscious.

I've met beings that have told me things, that didn't make any sense at the time, and I think that is because they talk in symbols, especially if it's a teaching. Maybe what they said will make sense later on? It might have been subconscious though, I don't know, you're the best judge of that :)

That sounds like a wonderful experience James! I have projected into darkness, but I don't think it was anything like you described. I didn't like the darkness. Not one bit. I have seen things, and been places in the astral that seemed so familiar, but I can never remember why that is. Maybe you once used to dance like that, but forgot  :-)

I use the belilin conjuration all the time. And it works. The best of luck to you!

I've met some scary entities in the astral, but they've never been able to harm me. I think they just like to scare. And some we find scary because we don't understand them, what they are and what they're doing here.

I've never been there myself, but I've read about it in the "Through the Eyes of an Angel" book. Sadly I lost it on an airplane as I was getting off :(  But it seemed really nice. I would love to go there.

That sounds like a cool technique :) Personally I find that relaxing the head is a lot harder than relaxing the body. So maybe you need to find a way to relax your face and head more?
#22
Oh! I've always wondered how I project, because I don't really have a technique I follow anymore. What you said sounds a bit like what I'm doing, Virgin Astral. Thanks :)

It's great that you got out the first time you tried Patrick. That's quite amazing  I suggest you find a technique that you like, and try that out. I don't think it matters much what technique you use, because it's all about concentration anyway, that's what will make you project instead of falling into a dream. So one that you enjoy should be good. I used to concentrate on my third eye a lot. I found that fun because I would sometimes see pictures.

I think it's somewhat normal to find it easier to project when you first start out. It was like that for me as well. Maybe we get help from the divine in the beginning, who knows. But it takes work to keep projecting. We need to practice. Practice astral projection as often as we can.

After my dad passed away, and I learned about astral projection, I became determined to experience it for myself. When I did, I continued practicing it as often as I could. I would do it when I came home after school, because then it was still light out and not as scary, (I lived alone in a big house at the time). But one night I became terrified. I just couldn't fall asleep without going out of body. In the end I gave in, slipped out of body, and just wandered up and down the hallway between my astral bedroom and the living room, too scared to go outside my house.

I was depressed, and I began sleeping over at my friend's place, so I wouldn't have to experience the same thing again. For some reason, sleeping in a new bed helped. Or maybe I somehow programmed myself not to go out of body. I took a break from astral travel, something I deeply regret now. I would do anything to be able to go into the astral that easily, and it took a lot of hard work to be able to project again.

I like to have a goal for my projections, like a place I want to go to, or something that I would like to learn or see when I'm in the astral. This motivates me, and keeps me from just "floating around" until I fall into a dream, or return to body. A goal can be as nice and simple as practice control though. I'm still working on that one. It helps to feel secure in the astral. Perhaps learn techniques for astral self-defence? :)

Switching beds might work if you want to stop slipping out of body like that.

dmoney, what I do when I want to visit someone, or get to a certain location, is to ask for help. You can ask a guide, angel, your divine mother or father, etc, to take you to see 2Pac. It doesn't hurt to try :)

Ooo. What a beautiful experience! I pray that I will one day meet an angel as well, and understand what love is.
