Quote from: RudyFasonHI Glacius,

I'm able to do the trance state fine because of my mediation experience.  But I don't know much about leaving my body.  Should I try the rope tech. as described by Bruce?

Thanks, Rudy

Well, rope didn't work well for me but it might for you. Try as many as you can until you find one that feels like its working. Read up on the stuff. The best you can get for free is Robert Bruce's online tutorial. Its at www.astraldynamics.com Focus on chapter 4,5,6. Even if rope doesn't work for ya, this will give you a much needed understanding of exit sensations and the like. You can get his book astral dynamics. They're many other good exit techs floating around the web. www.astralsociety.com is a good place to look at exit techs. Anyways find a good one and make sure you can relax your body 100%. Relaxation is the hardest thing to do but if you can already relax good enough getting out should not be a problem.

Yeah it gets easier, or more frequent anyways.  i think its good to mix up your exit techs a bit because the first 5 or 6 times are pretty rough on the way out. Getting into trance certainly is easier. But the exit tech you use might need a little "refining" as it were. You will see that though. Finding the exit tech thats right for you is important.(I sound like an insurance commercial for OBE)! Anyways good luck

Sam's right, you have to "stay on the ball"!! And don't force it!!

Well I can meet ya there and teach ya how to snowboard and how to AP!! Its only 50 bucks a day for the snowboarding and were not doing it the whole time. And I think 30 or 40 bucks a person for the chalet.

Its an acquired skill. I think next summer I am going to go out and live in the forest for a few months and do out of body everyday, and other spiritual things. Anyways I think when I get back I would be able to AP anytime. In fact I am sure of it.

I remember when I started trying to AP I got out after about 3 or 4 months and then had  about 20 solid OBEs during the next few months. then I stopped trying to do them for awhile. Probably about a year cuz the whole music thing got in the way for a while cuz we got a producer and what not. So I was really busy.

Now I am back into it and have tried like 6 times and haven't made it out. Because I stopped practicing. I can feel that I am getting closer though.

With OBE you need to do it all the time. Its works like muscle memory, if you don't use it, it stops working. But its easier to get back into to something if you have been good at it before.

If you want to get back into to it just go for it. Learn some techniques and then I am sure it will be really easy for you. Anyways good luck.

Quote from: RudyFasonYes, I'm familiar with hypnogogic images and sounds. There has been a recent step up in the intensity of them. Last night was like being in a storm of sound, images and body sensations. Like they were all being blow and tossed everywhere.
Sounds like your just getting very close to leaving your body. You must be in a very deep trance for this eh?? Next time it happens try and leave your body.

How important is it to activate the chakras/energy centers?

Not too important. It helps though. I do a quick activation before I try and AP.

Where does the energy that one needs to OBE come from?

It comes from within you. If your tired chances are you will fall asleep. Think of the energy you need as mental energy. If you feel clear and focused than you have enough mental energy.

How important is it to feel vibes in order to OBE?

Not important at all, they are a side effect. Although you can use them to your advantage because if you think they have to do with projection and you feel them, then you can use them for help for obvious reasons. Kind of like a placebo drug for the projector.

Is the experience of vibes important in R. Monroe's system?  I think so. Use them to your advantage. Try different techs for getting out but try and use the same ones to get into trance. Do what works!! Anyways good questions!!

Hey my names Ian too. And I sing and play guitar in a band  . Nice to meet ya its a small world. Anyways I would suggest keeping the weekends for AP. I also find thsat when I am working all the time I am just too tired at nighht and lacking the proper motivation. And also have the trouble with falling asleep on back. See, most people sleep on there sides. Thats just the way it is. The body will try and force you to do it. AP works better when your on your back because you wont fall asleep easy. Its kind of like an instinct. Your subconcsious mind will put you to sleep because it knows that when your on your side its time to sleep.

Cool!! That sucks about all that noise. For me its frustrating enough having my little brother bothering me! I cant imagine those jackhammers(shivers). That experience sounds crazy!! I am going to try that "oceanic breathing" thats sounds like it has some meaning. Thx for sharing.

Hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations. Nothing to worry about. They can be frightening sometimes but either way just ignore them. Shows your getting closer to AP though. Good work!! Anyways these sensations are telling you that your getting in touch with your energy. Which means your making progress, spiritually.

Cool!! Where was your meditation retreat? Like was it a thing you payed for? Was it religious? Anyways may have been the mind split. Thats sounds interesting though. I have never had a duality of consciousness episode but a lot of people have.

I got some quantum mechanics for sale. They're out in my shed. 100 bucks  They're in Good condition too. I don't have any MDs though all out of those. Only have PhDs left.

Yeah I find that the rope does not work for me either very well. You have to find whats right for you. And try and stay calm when you get into that deepy, trance state :)  Its hard but thats what stopped you. Once you get there you don't even really need to use your relaxation method anymore because you are relaxed enough. The trick is to stay calm. If you get exited the relaxation you achieved will go away. So stay focused on keeping calm. GOOD LUCK!

I learned how to project from this site. Just read everything. I recommend Robert Bruce's" online tutorial. You can find it at astraldynamics.com

The best thing to do would be to get the book but I had my first successful projection before I bought the book.

Good job thats great!!  Another enlightened soul!! well now you know its real so use that as your motivating force.

Yeah it could be the mind split as well. I don't really believe there is a mind split. If if there is,  it would explain why you feel so exhausted though.

I think its something that has too be learned if you know what I mean. Like for example a baby has no real sense of depth perception. They see in 2D. They have to slowly learn to judge distance and then they gain an understanding of the three dimensional nature of physical reality.

I think its the same in OBE. I think that yes, we may be perceiving 4 dimensions but I don't think our mind has the ability to understand that, so we just see in 3D. Once more time is spent in the OBE environment then we start to gain the concept of 4 dimensions. I have personally never experienced anything like a Fourth dimension, but there are a lot of crazy things that have happened to me which I think have to do with four dimensions but I haven't had the ability to understand them so they just seem to me like screwed up experiences that I cant understand. Maybe one day we will realize that the mind split doesn't even occur, maybe its just an interpretation of a perception of the fourth spatial dimension?

  Anyways good post!

It might have been your subconscious mind. Usually right on the brink of projection you will hear noises like that. Robert Explains it in his book and on his on-line tutorial. The trick is to not try and let these things startle you(its really hard).

I also wake up every morning but its at 2am. this never fails no matter what its always two in the morning. I don't usually project in the dark though cuz its too frightening.

When you get the sinking feeling you know that your getting in the right mindset for projection so try and keep yourself awake. This is also when the excitement kicks in and you have to try and stay calm.

Maybe some entity just came in and started playing your piano? Which seems pretty rude   Oh well.

  Hope that helps!

Your in the right state for OBE. It takes a long time to get over that fear.
I had spontaneous ones like that when I started and I still have the same fear that your talking about. The trick is to keep on struggling and fighting with your fear.
Every time you get into the vibration state reassure yourself with everything you have learned about OBE. Once you pop out of your body the fear should dispel immediately. Just tell yourself to stay calm. Don't try and fight to get out of your body. Just relax and feel yourself slipping away. Don't tense your mind, just let the projection reflex do all the work.   All you have to do is stay calm no matter what.
