Thanks.  I'm already finding this site to be invaluable.

Interesting topic!  I hope any astral police out there don't have quotas for giving tickets, ha ha.

Wow!  Wild stuff.

You know, I think I might have met my spirit guide in the one and only lucid dream I ever had.  He was, like, a part of me, but opposite.  In my dream, I instinctively "knew" he was my spirit guide, which is kind of strange considering that I didn't believe in them or even know what they were at the time.

Lo and behold, yesterday I was reading stuff online and nearly spit out my drink when I read that your spirit guide is "an extension of you, and your opposite"!  Exactly like that guy in my dream!  I didn't even know that when I dreamed of this guy.  It's one of the many little things that's starting to make me believe that there might be something else to this world.

Congrats on your experience.  It sounds really cool.  I hope you can meet him again.

Hey everyone.  I'm pretty new anything metaphysical; I'm extremely new to astral projection/out of body experiences.  I've never believed in such things, but recently, things have been making me wonder.  I hope to hang around here, make a few new friends, and maybe even learn something. :)

To be honest, I never gave much thought to astral projection until the other day.

I decided to take a nap on the sofa.  I thought I was awake.  Actually, I could swear I was awake.  I remember thinking that I was going to leave my body, and I rolled off onto the floor, worried that I'd bump my head on the coffee table.  I crawled around it and began heading to the other room.  I stopped to look at my body, but became confused when all I saw was an outline of me.  The outline was like a burning white light.  I started wondering if I "did it" right, then suddenly found myself in my body.

In fact, I could swear I was lying on the couch with my eyes wide open at that point, thinking I was going to have to do it all over again.

I did it a second time, but that time I actually saw my body.

Out of curiousity...how can you distinguish between a lucid dream and a projection?  This really bugs me, because I was so sure I was awake that when I woke up on the sofa, I was confused, thinking I was just sitting in the middle of the room...

Oh, I should probably mention that things looked a little weird.  Very, very real, but a little foggy and slightly stretched out.  Other than that, our living room looked exactly right.  I remember even feeling the carpet underneath me--something that never happens in my dreams.
