...and it still didn't replied to my question: why should a Christian use magic, if he/she can pray? Doesn't it indicate that his/her faith is too weak, or that he/she is out there to try things that go against will of God? Because if it's God's will, then why don't you pray and ask for it? Why use magic instead?

The thing what you saw is called Old Hag what sometimes accompanies with sleep paralysis. There is nothing to be afraid, because both of them are totally normal things. There is no spirit hunting you, and your physical body is just falling asleep while your dream body goes for adventure  :D

Now if there is no reincarnation then all those people who take their own life's or those that commit horrible crimes or those that are innocent & given death penalty's etc or who are murdered possibly have not learned all lessons required to ascend.

Learning a lesson does not necessarily need "in-carnation". According to what i see we can keep learning even with spiritual bodies after death. It means i also believe universal restoration of all things (aka universal salvation).

Quote
Bearing in mind that A lot of these lessons can only be taught here on Earth wouldn't it seem more feasible to give these people a second chance than just stay at the level they are at for eternity??

What are the lessons what we can learn only in physical body, and what cannot be learned by spiritual body? I mean that we "learn" not with our body, but with our mind and consciousness. But both of them are included in our spiritual body too.

Quote
There are documented cases of reincarnation...Children knowing things or that say no my name is????

Alternatively we all can have access to collective consciousness, or to some "library" where all the knowledge is (like Edgar Cayce's readings). Because of that in certain cases we can access to information we had no previous knowledge whatsoever, and what some people interpret as the memories from past lives.

When saying all that, i do not say that there is no reincarnation. I want to point out that the cases where many people see reincarnations, can be explained in alternative way also.

Welcome to Magic! / Christian Magicians or Magick

look at the results of the "2". how often do you see a physical answer through prayer, which you do get answers and all BUT look at the outcome of a spell forcing freewill. You almost automatically Physically see the results as someone who starts being obsessive which can be a backfire slapping you in the head. if you think about it there is difference in prayer and magick[/i] literally. Money spells for example... you can pray all year long and most likely your not going to start seeing money appearing easier and coming your way. spell, is the opposite....

Those examples show pretty well, that someone cannot be humble Christian and magican at the same time. If your prayers don't get answered, then one reason might be that God is not willing to give this what you prayed for, at least not this way you want it. And then comes in "Christian magican" and starts to force things to happen. I see OBVIOUS contradiction here: this "magican" is purely acting against the will of God

Welcome to Dreams! / Lucidity during dreaming
January 25, 2005, 18:12:50
I dunno why your demand for more lucidity turned out in less lucidity. But i can assure you that you can close and open your eyes in LD-s as much as you want without ending the dream. I bet that you have read too much stories about how closing and opening eyes ends LD. I suggest you to re-train your brain to think that you NEVER lose LD when using your eyes  :D

I hope this helps. I have not tried it myself, because although i read many accounts how closing your eyes is bad, i have never had problems with that.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / End of the world ???
January 21, 2005, 20:30:25
Quote from: Wronski FeintBut i think if the world ends it will be on jesus' birth weather it is chritmas or another day.

To continue the discussion: Why do you think that it will happen in Jesus' birth day? It's just interesting for me. And how do you know when Jesus really was born as we don't have historical facts about the date?

I don't want to sound like moron, but it's still interesting idea what you brought up  :D

It could be some medical problem related with your body, or it could be something else

Welcome to Metaphysics! / End of the world ???

Quote from: Wronski FeintIn the bible it says we will have seven years of hell before or during the end (im not totally sure).

Many numbers in the Bible should be taken symbolically. Although it's possible that some of them should be taken literally.

Quote
On christmas day the tsunami happened, then an earth quake in china.  Thats it so far but its only jan 20.  Even though this happened in 2004 it happened on the birth of jesus.  7 years from 2005 is 2012.

There has been worser catastrophes than those in history. And people always like to say: the end is near!! as soon as they happen. While one day they might be right on that, then until then we should be very critical about such predictions.

P.S. The birth of Jesus most probably did not happened during Christmas. It was LABELLED as birth of Jesus by official Christianity that hate anything what had pagan origin.

Quote
The year the mayans predicted to be the end.  Im sure this is [edit] but i dont know, maybe theres somthing to it. so im thinking christmas day 2011 the world will end. :?

EDITED: The Mayas predicted something will happen in the end of 2012, not 2011.

Mayas did not predicted that the world is ending in 2012, but that some major change will happen. At least it's what i have read. If someone thinks that they predicted the end of the world, then please, give a quote here and the source

Cheer up people. There are so MANY false predictions in near history, and far history (you can do your search on Religioustolerance website about them), that it almost discredits the whole idea of world end. Although IMO it's highly possible that this world where we live does come to end one day, i suggest everyone to be more sceptical about predictions and use their sound mind and read history  :D

Cheers  :D

Welcome to Metaphysics! / End of the world ???
January 21, 2005, 11:16:28
I read from official homepage of Edgar Cayce and from few other sites, that Edgar Cayce did not gave out precise years, and precise predictions about future events. In official website it's even said that many yellow papers are faking Edgar Cayce's messages to attract readers.

Does anyone has the genuine collection of Edgar Cayce's readings, and can he/she confirm this message in opening post?

Quote from: MadLordNadLove spells are the first thing which comes to mind.

What is the difference of love spells and praying for someone and wishing that God would give him/her the very best? If you are Christian and cast this spell in the name of Jesus, then why don't you use prayer as Jesus himself taught? Why do you need spells?

Mhat,

your experiences with AP seem similar to what i have experienced so far. In past i have not succeeded to manage with blackness when i started to float in my room. Another time i was lucky to convert my OBE into LD so i had at least some dreamscape to manage in. But today while napping i had my first "real" AP. But differently from you i succeeded to have sight when i shouted: "Increase light! Increase clarity (lucidity)!" I immediately started to see my room. But the fact that there wasn't my wife (who was there IRL at the same time) and some things were in different places showed me that OBE-s can be very close to LD-s. Only difference is that in AP you don't dream before you start to go out of body, but in LD you usually have some dream before that (or HI).

Also i noticed that i could control my OBE more easily than LD. There was no single problem to fly at will and fly through closed door. What i wanted that i get next moment (unlike in some LD-s). The other difference was, that i was not as excited as in LD-s. I think it's because in OBE i needed to "create" my dream environment, but in LD's i usually have ND environment where i become lucid.

It all made almost perfect sense, until i read this: "She said "because the caveman destroyed my kind.""

Sometimes those creatures are some aspect of ourself. It's good to have deep dialogue with them to find out what they mean (if they don't start to give out nonsense answers). But this reply what she gave is over my knowledge

Maybe next time when you meet her, ask her: "Is there any way how can i help you? I would really like to help you, but you see - my death is probably not helping you with your problem". Or smt similar. Just prepare some questions to ask from her to find out more.

Welcome to Dreams! / Lucid Dreaming Ability

Today morning i had another lucid dream where i tried to fly, but now i hit the floor (softly) without any success. Finally i needed to start to flap with my hands to be able to start to fly after i jumped into air

Welcome to Magic! / Christian Magicians or Magick
January 10, 2005, 15:43:04
Interesting post, although i have encountered few "Christian Wicca's/Magicans" even before. I wonder how do you differ magic from prayer? Do "Christian Magicans" agree that,

prayer - asking God for some favor accordance to God's will. I.e. accepting the answer even if the answer is not as expected by the worshipper.

magic - trying to influence supernational powers, or things by using certain techniques

Or how do you define those 2 things?

Also: are some teachings in Prosperity Theology (Kenyon, Hagin, Copeland, etc) kind of magic? Or are they purely based on auto-suggestion?

Final point: how much auto-suggestion is involved in magic? For example someone in this thread claimed to use names of 4 archangels to chant some stuff. What makes you think that this chanting is something more than pure auto-suggestion? Of course it can be asked about the simple prayer too. Overally there is very little difference between pure faith and auto-suggestion IMO.

Thanks!

Welcome to Dreams! / Lucid Dreaming Ability
January 09, 2005, 11:59:06
Yeap. While in dreams ALL is possible, our mind is limiting us sometimes. If you KNOW that you can, then you can.

For example today morning i had a LD where i wanted to fly. But i couldn't. Then i reminded myself that everything is possible in a dream, and i just "put" myself into flying "position". I nearly hit floor while doing it, but just before i could hit the floor i started to fly

Of course i'm aware of people who think they KNOW that they can jump into TV in dreams and while doing it they just hit their head   But i quess, that while they "know", they still have their doubts.

Welcome to Dreams! / sleep walking

My friend used to walk in sleep during the period of his depression. But there might be some other reasons too why some people regularly sleepwalk.

You usually have more frequent REM periods as the morning approaches. Then when you are tired after wake up and take short naps you probably fall right into REM period = more dreams   :D

Welcome to Dreams! / YES I DID IT! MY FIRST LD! :)
January 07, 2005, 13:18:42
Hey, congrats!

Reminds me my own first full LD where i wanted to dance, but i felt shy for my dancing skills. And while thinking so, i suddenly thought: nah, it's a dream anyway, so i will just go and take someone to dance

Welcome to Dreams! / Problem with falling asleep
January 06, 2005, 17:48:20
Have you tried to sleep with ear-muffs(?) ? You know those little things you put into your ears, what quiet the sounds around you? I started to use them some months ago (because of noisy neighbors and light sleep) and they did wonders. Although sometimes it's hard to hear wake up call when they are in my ears.

About food: try to go sleep when your stomach is not very full, but when you don't feel hungry, either. Honey can help, and pepper-mint tea also. But if tea will cause you to wake up even more frequently to go to toilet, then it's not that good idea.

Shortly, if you love reading before sleeping then i suggest you to put ear-muffs into your ears, get some book (not very exiting book), and read until you feel pretty sleepy. Then go to sleep. Try to get some regular sleep time also. I believe that ear-muffs can help you with that. If your neighbor goes too noisy so even your ear-muffs don't help, try to talk with him about that.

Welcome to Dreams! / Nausea and dreams
January 04, 2005, 11:09:08
I have seen something similar only in movie Butterfly Effect. Have you seen the movie? Although it's movie, there can be possibility that something like this (the main character experienced nausea and even vomiting after waking up from intense dream where he tried to change his past life) can happen to some people in real life too.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dream while awake
January 03, 2005, 17:57:49
No need to start distrusting people if they don't reply to you during first 2 hours, or 2 days. I believe that people who dropped in, had no idea what it meant, so it would be spam to post just "i don't know". So they did not posted. Some people who might have some idea what happened don't need to be online 24 hours a day to reply ASAP to every question. And now it seems that you scared people out of this thread by saying that no one cares to post.

Well, bare with me as i'm newcomer here, but i just could not resist to share some words of wisdom about being patient if your posts are not answered during first hours, or first days. Some posts never get answered, because people who check them just don't know the answer. No need to be offended  :D

So you were dreaming while going to school in real life? Before going to content, you were so tired so you daydreamed? Tired mind can create every kind of nonsense  :D

Has never happened to me before.

Do you experience the same thing when doing some other activities too? Or do you have some content in your dreams that make you feel bad? :(

Quote from: Naiad780I just got a book that suggested it would be about healing emotional trauma via lucid dreams.  I was disappointed--it had absolutely no information on practical techniques!  So let me ask you guys:  have you ever used lucid dreams to help heal your emotional traumas?  Any suggestions on where to start?

I think i´m lucky atm, that i have no emotional traumas (at least no serious traumas) left. But i think that LD´s can be great tool for curing them. I have used LD's to cure my fear of heights (by lot of flying in LD's) for example and it has worked. Also lot of chatting with DC's with easy mood (because you cannot take your DC's too seriously) has helped me to overcome some social phobias when encountering some people IRL.

Maybe try to find those people who hurted you when you have LD. Talk with them about that. Ask why they did so. Ask what you did wrong (if you feel that it might be partly your "fault" also). Feel free to consider what else to ask from them that could give you some info (but don't take it for granted, as sometimes DC's talk nonsense). But if you start to face boldly the people who hurt you in LD's you become (i hope so) more bold when encountering them IRL. In LD's your mind might figure out the reasons why they hurt you, who they really are (at least for you) and dismantle them. Seeing them as DC's will decrease the fear toward them. Knowing that you encountered them boldly in LD's will help you to stay more calm when you encounter them IRL.

Maybe it helps somehow.
