I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to mention an experience I had with someone who practices reconnective healing.  I was in a chat room with this person, and he was actually able to remotely adjust my energy levels.   It was quite amazing that this could actually occur in a chat room, as I'm not very familiar yet with various forms of energy adjustments.  I felt great for several hours afterwards and even had a sensation of seeing colors.  I thought I would include his web site here in case anyone is interested in remote (or local) healing (Note that I am not affiliated with this healer in any way):

I'm curious if anyone else has had an experience with remote reconnective healing (or any type of reconnective healing), as I'm thinking about pursuing this further.

I agree that the "ego" (and all the fears associated with it) is not something we want to hold onto.  But I do think when people are new to "enlightened thinking" (as I still am), it does get confusing and disconcerting when others talk about doing away with the self and becoming nothing.   I appreciate the clarifications.

And I too would appreciate any advice on "beginning" meditation techniques.  Although I have found ways to be spiritually attuned, meditation is not something that comes easily to me.

CaCoDeMoN,

When we speak of human angels, we do not abandon what we perceive as our humanity.  We just emphasize the best parts of ourselves and perhaps get a glimpse of our "higher selves" who decided to incarnate here in the first place.   And I do believe we hold on to our personalities, even as we ascend to our higher selves and gradually let go of some of our more negative aspects.  Speaking just for myself, I believe it's possible to still "be myself" independent of what I perceive as negative sides of my personality.  I know much is said in New Age circles about giving up the ego, and to be honest, I have trouble with that concept.  My hope is that the ideal spiritual existence is a dichotomy of holding on to who we are as individuals, while still feeling Oneness with the rest of humanity.  But each of us is entitled to our individual beliefs on these matters.

I have decided to join this forum as well, after being led here by Rastus.  I want to emphasize that my "human angel" neighbor is very much a "regular" person.  She is indeed a lightworker, but I believe any of us is capable of acting as a human angel if we follow the guidance of Spirit, just as she did that day.  My friend also played a pivotal role in the days and months that followed, lending me many books and explaining a number of spiritual topics.    And let me also emphasize that not one of us is just "regular", as we are all much grander beings than we realize.

My post to lightworker included lots of terms that would be familiar to followers of that forum ("Re-member" and the "Web of Love" for example, or actually even the term "human angel").  They are explained at http://www.lightworker.com.

Sending out Light and Love,
