Thanks for the rubbing hands, extra sensory perception technique.

Was browsing other threads and tried this over the weekend when I went lucid in a dream state and it worked wonders.

When I say that, I was able to stop myself waking up when the usual signs of the fading started and it lasted 3 times longer than it normally would :)

Didn't go to another planet....maybe next time!

Thanks everyone for their responses on this.

I know that I am relatively new to the topic of AP and new to the experiences so I can't expect to have control or even to have these experiences last too long.

It's just great to hear from other posters that they went through similar things and it's alright.  Nothing to be scared of.

Cheers  :-)

Hi majour ka,

Thanks for your response.

I too have had the blindness and disorientation, seems part and parcel and I am just learning.  It's just frustrating, I suppose in a way I'm maybe trying to walk before I can run expecting complete control from the off.

It happened again last night, although this time I was just frozen solid!  Fully lucid, but frozen solid.  I'd asked before sleeping for my spirit guide to come into my dreams (I'd never met one).  I fell into a lucid dream and saw a woman watching me, hiding behind a chair, I walked over, spoker to her thinking she was someone else and she looked at me and walked away, without speaking.  When she was quite far away I shouted asking if she was my spirit guide (recalling the previous nights request) and she turned round and looked at me, knowingly.  I wanted to walk over to her to talk more, but I was frozen, couldn't move and was losing lucidity, I knew I was waking up.  I tried a few clarity statements and that made it last a bit longer but then I lost it and woke up.  Was awake for about an hour after thinking about it.

Fell asleep on the couch about 9pm, woke up just over 6 hours later, 3:09am. No real recall of dreaming prior to this. Lay in bed for about half an hour, I had set my alarm to go off at 5:30am to try and get into the vibrational state but as I'd already had 6 hours sleep decided to try then.

I should probably say that to prior to this event I had a bad weekend, I was not in a good mental state, very fragile and negative in fact so was a little tentative to try AP when feeling this way as I heard like attracts like, still...

So from a simple breathing meditation I slipped into my first dream and became lucid almost immediately. Was in a room that had wooden walls, mahogany style, similar to a room you might expect in a castle or such. I was with my sister and a couple of others I can't remember and she was talking about how my late grandmother had been the first person to congratulate her on graduating on Facebook. At that point it struck me I was dreaming except I seemed to lose control instantly and felt a vibrational shift into an Astral Projection like experience (I can feel the difference now), I fell forward and sunk into the floor, I was in complete darkness and started floating rapidly to the right, something was moving me, I was not controlling this.

Quite scared I asked for protection from a higher being, I asked to for a being of light or a higher being to help me. My movement changed immediately, was less intense and I was floating upwards. I was still not in control but it felt less threatening and I felt I could wake myself if needed. I was turned around and floating facing a wall that was completely black (or just dark) except that it had loads of runic shapes glowing in a bright blue light. I felt like I had no control although part of me was 'going with it' to see what happened.

I was then moved through the wall and saw a large spiral, that looked like a zoomed in spiral molecular structure and finally I was zoomed in further and perceived the whole experiece in binary, or that's what it seemed, a pattern of 1's and 0's, matrix like.

At that point I seized control of the experience and ended it, waking up. There was a very sharp re-entry to the physical.

The runic wall looked like this:

Has anyone had an experience like this?  With something or someone else controlling them?

Also, the runic wall, seemed relevant, anyone experienced similar?

kezd - I am all too familiar withe the pulling sensation and it frightened the hell out of me the first time it happened too.

Actually, it frightened the hell out of me the first 10 or so times it happened then I spoke to people about it and found out what it was, then progressively it got less scary and now, 5 years later I'm not frightened at all.

If I was you, try and go with it, but if you get too scared, just stop, tell it to stop or fight it and it will stop.  Until you are ready.  Hopefully it doesn't take you as long as me to overcome the fear but because you were already practicing for AP when it happened it shouldn't.

It's normal, lots of us have experienced it and are all still alive and well :)

I've only just recently started to be able to go with it and dip into AP.

Good luck.

This morning was a breakthrough for me in terms of Astral Projection.  I'll write the account here, it's long but hopefully helps some others that are trying.

Quick background, started lucid dreaming a few years ago spontaneously, then experienced sleep paralysis and these vibrations (whch were very scary at the time).  Looked online for a diagnosis for this and thinking medical was surprised to find links to spiritual experiences and Astral Projection.  Read the Monroe books and now am reading William Buhlman's 'Adventure's Beyond The Body'.  Prior to reading this book the vibrations were sporadic, random and couldnt' be produced at will.  Well they still can't but now I think I can set the environment where it is likely to happen.

So taking some of Buhlman's tips I went to bed around 11pm, set an alarm for 6am and at 6am got up, used the bathroom, had a glass of water, went back to bed (Buhlman goes to a different place to sleep - the couch, my couch isn't that comfy) and read for 10-15 mins.  Then I closed my eyes and went back to sleep, very quickly I was in a lucid dream, which didn't last long and I woke from it.  As I woke I felt the vibrations come on slowly, they were lighter than I have experienced previously so wondered if separation would be possible.  I did the affirmations that I learned through the Monroe Institute, which is prior to achieving anything, state something mentally like, "I know I am more than my physical body and I want to explore this.  I am seeking help from those with the same level or more knowledge and I give my thanks with love".

So, firstly, I did 'The Rope' technique, which is visualising a rope hanging from the ceiling and trying to grab on to it and pull yourself out.  My torso detached but that was it.  Vibrations went, then came on again and this time I visualised myself flying, like superman, slowly through a blue sky.  I felt my 2nd body raise up, flip over 180 degrees so I'm not face down hovering over the side of the bed, with no vision though.  I could not get my feet down or really control my movement.  It's funny, because in lucid dreams I fly through the air, but in this state, I felt the need to get my feet down to explore.

This 180 flip flying sensation happened two or three times. Then the vibrations came again and I mentally asked for help, I asked for someone to assist me in getting out of the body.  No sooner had I sent out this mental request than I was pulled from my feet, outside of my body and stood, upright next to the bed.  Still with no vision I walked a few steps forward.  I was overwhelmed.  I rememberd reading in Buhlman's book, to ask for "Clarity Now", I did so and was shocked that my vision came before me.  I was facing the living room, logistically as I know it but the furnishings were slightly different, well, a lot different.  I had to really ask myself, have I physically got up and walked out of bed because that is how real this feels.  I walked to the front door, pushed my hand through and got so excited that I woke up in bed.

It truly was an amazing experience although very short and hopefully I can repeat the experience at 6am tomorrow morning too.

Thanks for reading and hopefully any fellow travellers that are having a bit of difficult can use some of the tips here.  Also, I thoroughly recommend Buhlman's book.  I've only read the first section, but  copying the methods he used has really helped me.

Cheers,

thebigm.

Stookie,

Thanks very much for your response, that makes a lot of sense.

At the moment I am using Hemi-Sync audio because I find that easier to get into a more relaxed state.  I have such an active imagination that a breathing meditation is very difficult (although I know it takes weeks, or months to hone properly).  I do fear that with the hemi-sync I am trying to take a shortcut though.

I will continue with the hemi sync for now until I can fully recognise these other awarenesses, I am either using a guided meditation or a sound where I can just visualise myself and let my mind go where it wants and notice it.

Thanks again for your advice and help.

What kind of meditations would you recommend?

Would listening to a guided hemi sync meditation count or would that be for a different experience?

Cheers.

Hi there, I am a new poster (just signed up today).

I am insterested in hearing about other members meditation techniques to assist them with Astral Projection.

What I am aiming to achieve is to consciously create the 'vibrations' that I experience when I partially wake from a lucid dream or vivid dream, but I am interested in hearing about any techniques and goals related to AP.  I only have 2 meditation techniques I use currently.

1)  I lie still before going to sleep and try and focus only on my breath, noticing my abs rising as I breathe in and falling as I breathe out and trying to push away any other thoughts (This is for relaxation and not aimed at anything else)

2)  Listen to a hemi-sync (binaural beats) audio file whilst in bed and visualise.  Sometimes I let my mind go where it wants, other times I visualise a repeated scene. (This is to try and experience other energy systems from a wakeful state).

If possible, can you please tell me:

1)  Your meditation method

2)  Your goal

3)  Any aid, supplement used (audio, incense etc...)

Thanks very much!

I am not too experienced with consciously induced Astral Projection, however I lucid dream a lot.

I had an experience asleep on the couch when I saw a hooded figure at the end of the couch.  He was following me about my lucid dreams that night.  As soon as it happened the first time, I contemplated it might be death and woke myself up intentionally.

As I drifted off to sleep again, it was straight into a lucid dream, he was on my mind anyway but he appeared as I was in the garden, this time instead of waking up I flew off.

Dipping in and out of lucidity later that evening, I was in a room full of other entities that resembled what I would imagine a room in a space ship to look like.  Some occupants were human looking and some slightly different, but it was a collective.  Now although I was lucid dremaing, I wasn't fully immersed in the scene.  I was being disrespectful to those around me, I won't go into details.  But at that point, the hooded character emerged from a door at the far side of the room.  At this point and with other beings around I had courage.  I decided to do what I had read about and create a bright light around myself and shine it straight at him.  I've heard projecting love can have the same effect.  Anyway, upon doing this his appearance changed, his hood seemed to disappear along with his confidence, he looked shamed and embarrased and disappeared.  I haven't encountered him since.

If you can muster the courage and it happens again, try this again.

New member just signed up and posting to say hello.

Astral projection is something I am really interested in and love talking about my own experiences as well as listening to others so hoping to get some tips, discussion and read lots of interesting accounts.

A bit about me.

I stumbled upon the topic about 4 years ago waking up with intense vibrations around that same time as I started to have lucid dreams (naturally - had no knowledge on the topic until one day I realised I was dreaming, turned round and saw myself lying on the couch).

I turned to the internet for a medical diagnosis for these sleep paralysis vibrations, as you do, expecting to find out I have a day to live or something....to my surprise the links were pointing to spiritual websites.

So in the last few years I've read countless web resources, all of Monroe's books, am on the Buhlman's.  I've met with people from the Monroe institute and been on a weekend excursion with the group.

To date, I've had loads of lucid dreams and one consciously induced Astral Projection, which lasted about 30 seconds after I rolled out of my body during intense vibrations but couldn't see anything.

Okay, I've rabbled on enough, this was supposed to be an introduction, enough waffle.

Cheers.
