I have only just joined Astral Pulse after many weeks of searching the forums and decided this week to join and take part in a few topics of discussion.
Today I decided to type in 'Astral Techniques' and the search list led me here. I read with great interest what you had written about spirit guides as I have had communication with spirit and feel their presence constantly about me (even though I find the dross of this Earth plane very heavy at times and I can't always raise my consciousness high enough).
Years ago, in my teens, my Grandmother held development circles at a church in Kings Heath, Birmingham which she had helped build, from scratch, mortar and souls!. All her life she had been in touch with spirit, showing a constant and developing gift of clairvoyance and clairaudience.
She had links with Harry Edwards (a great healer and spiritualist) and Isa Northedge in Nottingham, UK. When she was diagnosed with stomach cancer in her 40's (in the 1950's), she went to the spiritualist church of Isa Northedge and underwent an operation by a spirit doctor (Dr Reynolds), who removed 2 cancers. This was witnessed by Isa, my Grandad and various other members of the church. The cancers were burnt in the grounds nearby. My nan died in 1990.
She was a kind and gentle lady who never imposed her views or beliefs on anyone. I asked her, over time, about the circles she held every Wednesday at home. A group of friends gathered, sang hyms and prayed and asked for guidance as my Nan went into a trance and slowly spirit came through.
There are many experiences of events during the circles that I can tell you and how so natural and comfortable I felt with it all. it is like going home and feeling secure and revitalised.
For a while now, I have know that I must get back on the spiritual path and I have been searching for ways, clues, developing intuition etc.
I know and sense 'Ranan' my guide, around me (first time I have ever typed his name and I have known him as my spirit guide for 21 years).
It's time to open my inner eyes, and help those around me in a more positive way. I shall do this, I know, by talking to likeminded people, like yourself, who believe and trust in spirit.
