Yeah, i just got my first bike, a 2002 Suzuki GS500 with only 168 miles!! (Not even broken in yet and i got a killer deal on it!!). If you get a motorcycle i would reccomend getting something smaller at first, nothing above 500cc's (even that is pushing it in my opinion).  Be sure to get lots of gear (leather jacket, gloves etc...) and make sure you get a full face helmet:

I apologize MajorTom,

Normally when i enter a new forum i'm a lurker for about 2 months while i read all the back posts, but for some reason i just decided to post my questions right away! Thank you for the prompt response and for moving my thread so it wasn't cluttering up the wrong section, I'll take a look at the FAQ, than you for the link!

I don't want to start a flame fest, but i'd like everyones opinion on something. From what i've gathered Astral Projecting seems to be different for every person, and some peoples astrals sound very much like dreams (I read one post where someone was throwing fire balls at a dog... sounds a little DBZ/Dream to me).

I guess i'm just trying to figure out if there are any standards and absolutes when astral projecting. Here are some questions i've had:

1. Have you met anyone else astral projecting, and you both remember the experience later? For example Jim and George know each other in real life, and both decide to astral project and meet each other on the astral plane. While APing they talk about oranges and various fruits, so when they come back to this reality, they both write down their conversations they had with each other and they switch papers. Did they both write that they had talked about fruit? Has anyone had an experience like that?

2. It also sounds like that its hard to differentiate between 'real' astral objects, and objects that you create in your own mind and are manifested in the astral plane. If thats true how do you know that everything isn't made up in your mind? Question 1 could answer this to some degree.

3. How long are astral projections generally? It seems like most are only a couple minutes max, but maybe i have only been reading beginner posts. My reason for learning to AP is my craving for knowledge, and i don't know what i could learn in two minute journeys.

Basically those are the questions that have been bugging me. I look forward to everyone's answers.

Well i recently started practicing trying to astral again last night (haven't tried in about 3 years, and before i wasn't successful really). Anyway, i laid there for who knows how long, it could have been an hour or two, for some reason I was dead set on trying to astral last night even though i haven't tried in so long. Here is my experiences, maybe you all can tell me if I'm close and what i should be doing differently.

Well it took me quite a while to relax, but after i did  my arm and my head of coursed itched, but i ignored them. My whole body started to feel tingly, and i felt kind of 'floaty' but i could still definitely feel the bed touching my arms and things like that. I stayed in this tingly state for what seemed like 20 minutes or so, i tried imagining myself 'floating upwards' but that wasn't really helping. I started to get frustrated and so i started thinking about my motorcycle and almost daydreaming about it. Well it seems like i caught myself right before i was going to get out or fall asleep or something, because as soon as i realized i was drifting off and concentrating too much on my motorcycle i like 'snapped back' (if that makes sense). The only thing i can relate it to is if you go to sleep quickly and you have a falling dream where you are jerked awake. It wasn't nearly as violent as any falling dream I've had, it just felt like my legs/chest dropped a little.

I thought "HEY! I think i was close to projecting!" so i tried to relax and think of things i enjoyed again, but it was hard because i kept thinking i would fall asleep (even though when i tried to fall asleep without moving from my position i wasn't able to). I had one more experience of the slight 'fall' and then i gave up for the night and turned over and went to sleep.

I think that i was close to projecting, but i don't know what to do to really give myself that last push. I keep thinking "Oh, maybe i'm astral projecting right now, oh wait no, i can still feel the bed under my body". (on a side note, right before i had a 'fall' my legs couldn't feel the bed underneath me, they just felt super tingly i guess). I think my problem might be is i get too excited when i get close, i always think "OH man this is it!!! Go go!!! Don't screw up!" and then i snap myself back to reality. Anyway, anyone offer any tips? I'm going to try the roll out of bed technique tonight or tomorrow morning. Anyway, I welcome all thoughts, comments, and constructive critisism. :)
