Welcome to Dreams! / I'm gonna be an aunt???
March 10, 2006, 04:51:18
It could easily be true!

Just a few weeks ago i had a dream where i was talking to one of my grown children, i can't remember what it was about but remember that it felt real good, in the morning i told my girlfriend about the dream.

About two weeks later we found out she was pregnant, it's my first and i'm real excited. The fact that i dreamt about talking to them has made it even more exciting. i'll be interested to see in about 7 months if the sex of the child is the same as they appeared to me in the dream.

Yay, good for you getting this dream!

Best wishes,
Dean

If you don't mind sharing, how many attempts did you make to successfully project 75 times?

I'm also new to OBE but your experiences do sound like you are having or realising that you have had an OBE or AP.

I have had dreams where i'm astral projecting and even dreams (lucid ones) where i'm floating above and looking at my body in bed. The difference between these and your experiences is that when i wake i know that i was dreaming and that when i was in these dreams i know that i am not awake but i haven't been able to know that i am not in a dream.

While you were in the OBE/Dream if you could know that you aren't dreaming, as well as not awake, then definitely i would suggest OBE/AP. i find i can tell that i'm not awake but i can't know that i'm not in a dream, and i figure that's because i probably am in a dream.

If the next day you think you were dreaming an OBE then maybe you were.

You were twice in your room and you visited the house next door and it looked as it does in reality from outside (i presume) without any variations from reality then i believe you are very likely experiencing OBE's!

Great stuff!

PS. i figure you are reading "Mastering Astral Projection" it would be interesting to know how successful you become at AP as i'm reading the same book.

The arm method works great. i use it sometimes when falling to sleep when i'm wanting to enhance lucid dreams.

Sepultura, i've done a few Vipassana meditation courses. This meditation technique focusses heavily on watching sensations on the body. The sensation you are having trouble observing is itch. Know that all sensations will eventually pass, good or otherwise.

If you notice an itch don't react to it just observe it. When looking to project if your mind notices an itch don't react, know it will eventually pass, and bring your mind back to your projection technique or whatever it was that your mind was on.

may i suggest when not projecting (everyday life) and you feel an itch, don't scratch it, just observe it and watch it pass away. this will be good practice for when projecting.

Love to you,

gnomad, i just downloaded the Boxed Nirvana set lately. i've only used it once. Got a fair amount of imagery while using it and remembered my dream from the previous night which until then i wasn't able to remember.

A couple of questions
Quote from: MegGnomad - I liked the humming noises - reminded me pleasantly of the refridgerator in my childhood home!
Meg
I was unsure whether i was supposed to be hearing the humming noises. i though the hum could be me hearing the binaural beat- looks like the noises are added and this isn't the beat. is this the case? I found the humming noises a bit annoying but did get a little use to it.

Quote from: Sil3ntwoah i was listening to the chakra stimulating part and it said to visualize energy etc. etc. and i did i actually felt it move up and down my body :0
I didn't notice my version say when it was time to visualise chakra's. Is there an audible voice suggesting when it is time to start chakra meditation? (i was awake the whole time).

PS. it put me in a deep place which was good but when listening to the CD i found it much harder than normal to do work like NEW or Vispassana Meditation... It was actually easier to do energy work once the CD finished..
Any Comment?

Thx,
Dean

Sorry.. this is where communication via forums has a downside. It is incredibly hard to present all information pertinent to all possible interpretations in one post.

My most previous post was taken from The MOSBY"S Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professionals (2006) as mentioned. i presented it here to show that the "criteria" to be "classed" schizophrenic is much more than delusions or hallucinations as i had previously mistakenly alluded to in my first post...

i did not mean for anyone who is presenting with symptoms of psychosis (due to factors other than schizophrenia) to become concerned that they had schizophrenia or that for someone diagnosed with schizophrenia that the condition is transient.

May healing soon come to those of you that may be suffering from schizophrenia, and may the strength that reside within you help you find a way to health and happiness,

Thank you, again my apologies... and best wishes,

Dean

all the required information to build a universe and carry forward the knowledge from previous universes is encoded within the building blocks of the universe.

ie. in this one the electrons

I'll start a new post soon on this if anyone is interested in more. i'll post where it will be in the future inside this thread

Quote from: catmeowCurrent cosmological theory has our universe spontaneously self-creating from effectively nothingness (the big bang).  All of the laws of physics for our universe and all matter and energy were created in that instant.  If this can happen once, so the theory goes, it can happen many times.  In fact logically there should be an infinite number of such spontaneous creation events - there is nothing to stop them from happening!

So there must be an infinite number of universes, each occupying its own space/time.  In addition, so the theory goes, every thing, and every person and every event that ever happend in this universe has, is or will happen in another universe.  There are an infinite number of copies of YOU, each one living a slightly different life.  Eg Elvis playing to the Sydney Opera House.

Now scientifically, this is a kind of logical conclusion of the theory of creation, assuming that creation is a spontaneous random event and there was no Creator.  On the other hand if there is a Creator responsible for a single creation event, then there need not be an infinite number of universes!

Just my 10 cents worth...

Thanks for your view! At present i believe in big bang theory and in one Creator. I believe that this universe we know now will eventually end, and that this universe is not the first or last this creator will design. Before (or maybe the moment that) this universe ends the creator will explode another big bang thereby creating another universe so it keeps its (effectively the universe's [one and the same]), memories, knowledge, experiences, etc so that it can continue it's, (and assist us in our) conscious learning so that it doesn't get reduced to nothing and need to start from scratch again. In a way information transfer from this universe to the next so that it can keep evolving and learning.

Anyone wanting to explore this kind of theory further check out:

Quote from: CFTravelerand to me it was verified, I'm sure not very scientific, but it's enough for me.

thank you CFTraveler for sharing your experience, I'd call that good verification myself. thankfully your child was open enough to tell you and verify the experience for you, some children could be quite shy at that age,

Thanks all for this thread thus far i've really enjoyed it,

Cheers,

heaps of ways of gaining lucidity. but basically you need two things:
1. Reality Checks (when doing reality checks in the day they will eventually cross over into your dreams. when the reality check fails in the dream you can assume you are dreaming)
2. Slow down the speed at which you fall to sleep (the first method i used for this was going to sleep on my side and holding upright the hand from the arm that i am laying on. when you start to fall to sleep your arm will relax, causing it to fall and you'll get woken... extending your time into sleep.
- you can also do things like
1, am i dreaming,
2, am i dreaming,
3, am i dreaming etc, etc as you fall to sleep)

I know the feeling of gaining lucidity (and even being lucid for a while and loosing it only to gain lucidity again later in the same dream). i've been practicing on and off for years and i still have dreams with no lucidity, or nights when i don't remember any dreams and even dreams where i get lucid only to loose it. as suggested keeping a dream journal is of benefit here (one thing in need to be better at).

One thing that i do try to do to stabilize the dream environment once i am lucid is use my peripheral vision more. you may get benefit from looking directly at an object but i'd suggest while starting out that you keep this period brief. Look until it is stabilized (better still to remember to use peripheral vision while doing this), then progress. otherwise melting etc of the object may occur and i've found this can trigger excitement about being lucid.

You also need to manage strong emotions when lucid to keep lucid.

When you are more present, and active in the dream environment the stability is easier.

There's heaps of info out there but check out this site:
http://www.consciousdreaming.com/

between his site and his book (you can download it for a small fee) you will have all the info you need to get and stay lucid, the rest is practice,

Peace to you,
Dean

Werebull, sorry about my previous statements regarding schizophrenia. i'm posting in an attempt to clear up my previous error. Thanks no_leaf_clover for getting me to do this. Here i quote MOSBY"S Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professionals (2006):

"The DSM-IV criteria for diagnosis of schizophrenia can be summarised as follows. Prior to becoming ill, a period of gradual withdrawal, impairment in social or role relationships, or distinct changes in a person's personality, have been present. This social dysfunction must have been present for a period of a least 6 months and have had a material effect on the person's ability to meet work, study, family, social or self-care roles and needs. For at least 1 month during this period the person must have presented active symptoms of psychosis. Specifically, two or more of the following symptoms need to have been present: delusions, hallucinations, disorganised speech, disorganised behaviour, or 'negative symptoms' Negative symptoms refer to features such as flat or blunted affect, reduced verbal communication or fluency, social withdrawal, and additional behaviour. These features are termed negative symptoms to imply that they refer to the absence of certain features, as opposed to positive symptoms (e.g. delusions and hallucinations), which refer to the presence of certain features...." and on it goes.

Sorry about my earlier suggestion of schizophrenic like symptoms because it is a much more complex and debilitating condition than i realised. but the basis of my post stands>

Drugs = not recommended

Thanks and sorry again,
Hope that this dispels any concerns,

Dean

Welcome to Astral Projection Experiences! / Drugs...
February 25, 2006, 05:44:24
i've spent many of my past years in and out of drugs..

Someone earlier in the post suggested anything that takes you're control away is not good. i'd have to agree. I've spent years on drugs and it has taken me quite a while but i can guarantee you that life straight is much better than life with drugs...

You may be sensitive to cannabis, from reports many users who are sensitive hear voices on marijuana. The medical profession labels these people borderline schizophrenic. The Medical system believes many schizophrenics are triggered into their condition by using marijuana.

Hearing voices is a symptom... schizophrenia is the label of the medical profession... i don't believe much in the medical model. I'd like to think clairaudiance maybe one of your abilities but in this case negativity was taking advantage of it. I know i consider myself clairaudiant. Now straight, i have more understanding about why and what i hear and the ability to respond effectively. PS. i hear voices, but it is rare that i hear anything negative. but i live in a new reality filled with love and positivity.. a reflection of my internal self

you can't know truth when your mind is perceiving a falsened reality. even though sometimes you may think it is more real when you're there (on drugs) you can't be sure cause you can't know what influence the drug was having on your perception and if it is truly more or less of reality. the day after you are just left wondering.. plus your attention span decreases.. Trust me!! Not good!! you need good attention span to learn projection and meditation.

Truth is i've had some fun on drugs, but looking back there is not one thing that has made me wiser from using (other than IMO it is best not to use).

The day i chose not to use my life changed.

Spirit knows when you are sincere and when you are faking... the biggest change and one that i noticed basically overnight is that i became more helpful to others, more social, more community minded, and more concerned with the greater good than before. Before i was more self centered, fearful and selfish. To me a positive community mentality and the honest desire to help others is an indication of a more healthy mind and spirit..

Amazing what change a sincere decision can bring!

Best luck in your endeavors and may you always seek the underlying truth,

I do not recommended drugs for any type of personal growth, in the long run you'll probably end up going backwards!!

Love to you,

Dean

QuoteRecently, I have not thought about Astral traveling and instead have only been reading stuff on lucid dreams and WILDS.  I have got to say my success rate has gone up 2000%.

Hans, do you mean your ability to OBE has gone up 2000% or your LDreaming?

I understand the principle behind what CFTraveler and yourself are getting to... that you exist everywhere and it is where to choose to focus your attention etc.... question is do you experience OBE's the same as LD's (PS. i have read Bird's stuff) and i don't mean the experience of how they feel. i mean the way you reach them and the truth of them, the fact that you can KNOW 100% that they are not a dream (I know the question could be what is a dream blah, blah) and not totally all your imagination. that there is a creative force that is able to hold the larger part of the picture together so you can play in the space that this creative force has developed.

Truly i want to know why the creator has this place the way it is. why is it not different than it is? How many different universes could there be? how may other ways could you create a universe?

Think about this: what would happen if the electron was a fraction lighter, or the proton a fraction heavier? Is the weight of the electron in this universe the only weight that works? or if it was different what would be different and why...

I'm one of those people who want to know absolutely why am i here, how does it all work. this system of nature that i see before me dazzles me... it cannot be by chance... i believe there is a creative genius behind the whole set up... and i want to understand how it has done what it has done... obviously that gives me a need to understand the OBE experience and understand what dreams are and why we have them

did you read this post: Faraway can be so close...

I want to verify the astral experience for myself. something tangible as this would be wonderful   The above projection seems magical and could have acted through the methods that you and CFTraveler describe.

Reality and verification of the OBE (whatever it is and whatever form it comes in), and the KNOWledge that my consciousness can absolutely exist 100% without being enmeshed in this body is part of what i am looking for by learning AP,

Cheers for listening,

This is an antiquated belief structure. You never "get out" of your body. All projections are inwards.

Hi Hans,

i've read one Bruce Moen book but not any of the others  (i'm currently looking to find copies of all Robert Monroe's work).

From reading Astral Dynamics years ago it would seem unlikely that all projections are inwards else how would you explain his experiences with seeing his own body and the mind split thing, and experiences others have where they can either see or feel the presence of their 'double' in the room around them?

Is it possible that phasing is internal? I really don't know anything about phasing but do want to learn about it. If anyone could drop any useful links on this page that would be great!

Forums Bugs Reports and Questions / Searching
February 24, 2006, 06:51:13
Hi there,

was having some amount of difficulty in searching for and finding what i want. thought it may be beneficial if on the search page that you could list "Search topic title only" as an option?

BTW. I was looking for phasing information and some links i clicked on last night were not referring me (when i re-find them i will let you know which ones).

My problem with searching (maybe it's my use of it maybe it's the system i'm not sure and open to help) is for example... if you type "phasing methods" into the search bar, the phasing methods topic doesn't even come up on the first page . i know there is a topic titled "phasing methods" as i bookmarked it. i was hoping to find "Achieving Consciousness State for Astral Phasing" thread as mentioned by Nick in "phasing methods" but using the search function i cannot find it easily. There are also other threads people mention that i cannot find through searching. i found some other good stuff but not the thread i'm after.

Wondering if there's a trick to the searching or the search system is a bit rusty!!

PS. Love your work! the forum has been a real positive, supportive and great learning environment for me lately.

hope somehow someone can help me with the searching!

Cheers,
Dean

Quote from: PeacefulWarriorThe important thing is to confront your feelings, and friends, in the "real," waking world and make sure you have peace and resolution in all of your dealings.

PeacefulWarrior is right seems like you have not resolved this experience with your friends or yourself. I'd start by resolving it with yourself and if you still feel uneasy about it, then approach your friends and see how they react. you'll probably know when you confront them whether the experience was real or not.

Whether or not it was real you could ask why you have had the experience you have and why you feel like you do about it

I believe most often what people say to or about you has more to do with how they feel about themselves than it has to do with you...

Put some time into resolving this, do it for yourself,

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Progress?

Funny that, i was just asking a similar question as i had been trying to project at least once a day for the past four days.

yesterday i was starting to feel quite tired not physically, but energetically, I get the same thing when i try to induce lucid dreams and stay awake for ages after i lay down to bed. i think cause i'm trying to induce a mind awake/body asleep state that i am confusing myself and part of me doesn't know what i am trying to do and i end up having trouble going to sleep when i want to sleep.

also feeling a bit frustrated trying to sleep after this? - if so let that go immediately, and make a firm decision that i'm giving up for the night and i'm going to get some good sleep. that simple decision will help!

I've been reading lately that maybe bed is not the best place to use for projection. try a sofa, lounge or chair so you keep your bed for sleeping and know that when you go to bed that sleeping (or other things   ) is what is happening.

also using another defined space for projection will also get your mind ready for projection when you use this space. apparently... i haven't got far into this myself...

try different times of the day to project, morning, afternoon, times that suit you when you won't confuse sleeping with mind awake/body asleep and you can till get some good sleep.

I know with LD's you're probably going to use your bed try to stay awake  because you are wanting to fall into a dream, but i suggest as soon as you get frustrated, energetically drained, tired etc on falling to sleep that you leave it and make the firm decision to get some sleep (it's only one night  - i've been trying to project for many months and only got one part projection) and try again another time.

Best wishes,

Dean

Thx Sarah,

I did feel like i was out except for my feet as i really felt anchored by my feet and was moving around and it/they wouldn't let go. One thing that surprises me though, was i don't think i experienced any astral sight, i do have memory of looking at my closed eyelids. I expected once i got out that i would automatically have 360degree sight like people talk about when they are out. energetically i felt free and loose so now i'm not sure. i couldn't see my astral hands or anything.

Two questions:
1. Do i need to open my astral eyes to see?
if so how do i do that is it easy as opening my physical eyes while my consciousness is in my astral?

2. i've been trying to OBE at least once a day for the last four days. Today i feel a little energetically tired and i don't want to try although the excitement of possibly getting out makes me want to try.

Does anyone else get this (the tiredness i mean)? why do you think it happens if so?

Is it better to rest? Something suggests yes, rest a few days then try some more

I've been practicing LD for quite a while now and more recently added some energetic body work to my routine.

because the LD is fairly easy and very frequent for me i have recently been attempting to project from LD.

This is not a dream about an OBE:

I begin by waking about 4:30am to use the loo. i thought i'd then use the opportunity to OBE.
I lay back down and allow myself to sleep while keeping my mind awake. I realise i'm getting close to achieving this and allow myself to get further into sleep while staying awake.
My mind then starts feeling/sounding different as i get deeper. i notice the formation of hypnagogic imagery and tell myself just to watch it but soon i notice myself entering the dream imagery it feels like it lasts maybe 4sec and i use the technique of focusing on my third eye while dreaming to begin the OBE.

This brings me back into my body. i'm now once again, body asleep, mind awake. i feel the energetic sensation that my focusing on the third eye causes and find that quickly i feel myself drawn out and up, i feel light and feel myself raising up then... my feet won't let go... i feel that something in or around my feet (maybe it was tension) is acting like an anchor and won't let go....

Through the process i felt no vibrations only sensations as described above and definitely felt like i was floating. i know the rest of my double would have separated if my feet would have come loose.

Q: How close to vibrations and exit am i and does anyone whose feet are usually last out have any techniques for me?

could i just energetically step out without moving my physical body?

I thought today if it happens again i could feel the energy below my feet open and that may get me out... Any ideas are appreciated,

Dean

Frank,

i'd like to just make clear for myself what has been talked about in this thread especially the quotes of yours that mactombs has used above.

From what i can gather what you are doing is what i do for meditation.

When you say engage your physical senses within you etc. do you mean for example that if you hear your mind chatting then you let it, you don't stop it and don't have any reaction to it cause you don't need to you're just maintaining awareness of what is becoming apparent.

if you have a reaction then you just let that be there and accept it. same if you feel some physical sensation, or see some mental imagery just feel it or see it, accept it and make no mental comment or no other energetic reaction to it. from what i read this is what you are meaning, is it?

if so how do you go from this stage to AP? is it just through holding or setting an intention? it appears you're using no techniques.

cheers

I previously asked Brian Mercer about an AD workbook i had of his and the possibility of giving it away to those that wanted it. He wrote:

Dean,

Think of that Excel spread sheet, the companion workbook to Astral Dynamics, as Mastering Astral Projection version 1. Whereas, the book Mastering Astral Projection: 90-day Guide to Out-of-Body Experience is something like version 4 or 5 of the program and includes new techniques, methods and guides that aren't available in Astral Dynamics.

I originally created the Excel spread sheet to document an OBE program I mean to use solely for myself. When Robert asked that I share it on his website, I was happy to spruce it up with a minimal amount of instructions and references to AD.

The biggest difference in the two programs it that in my first version I try to implement everything all at once. The program isn't very progressive or easy to use and it assumes that users have read Astral Dynamics before using it.

MAP, on the other hand, is more progressive and logically structured. It was revised based on personal experience and working with several sets of road testers.

Feel free to pass out the spread sheet, but I would ask that you not charge anything for it. And if you could put in a bit about Mastering Astral Projection being available in bookstores & etc. when you give it away (or even put a link to how to order it in the spread sheet itself) that would be much appreciated. The important thing to tell people is that this is only a basic version and that the complete version can be found in Mastering Astral Projection.

Brian

So if there are those who have read/own AD and can't afford M-AP & want a look @"version 1" email: beloveddk@hotmail.com

PS. pls add AD workbook to the email subject heading
i'll keep a special look out in my inbox & junk mail for the next month or so. if i don't reply within a couple of days with the document send me again. it's probably been junked!

alternatively if you want Mastering Astral Projection check out your local bookstore or http://www.kaladrious.com/mastering_astral_projection.htm

yhickfoe,

where to start in A-Dynamics is up to you but abilities on concentrating the mind and stimulating the Energetic body (through NEW system) seem to be prerequistes for achieving consistant AP. so start with NEW and practice this as well as Projection techniques described later.

i have an AD workbook (nice accompanyment to Astral Dynamics) that i will ask if i am able to give to Astral pulse readers. problem is it is written by Brian A. Mercer co author of "Mastering AP" and i suspect forms the basis of M-AP, (though i haven't read it) so there may be issues with giving this away. but i will ask. Check the forum soon for reply

I've attempted a few projections lately (never have projected as yet) but wondered about the vibrations etc i am feeling and whether i'm on the right track.

when practicing projection i've been getting swaying (mainly in my head and neck). this is a good early sign i take it.

i was at a point where i was convincing myself that i (projected double) was in a different position than my physical body. my mind was finally loosening it's grip. i could feel both my projection and my physical body with equal awareness.

then felt this strange feeling and my thinking felt different momentarily but didn't really know what i was thinking. i felt myself sort of floating, sort of being pulled up and also down toward my feet. then i felt this energy rush come up the middle of my body from near my feet, then BANG! i got a jolt and my physical body was jolted upward. I was now definitely in physical and afterwards i was left with pleasant subtle sensations on my skin for a few minutes. No really strong sensations as some of you mention but one strong one that bought me straight into physical.

Don't know how far this is away from fully getting out. sounds like a little bit at least. i figure my energy body was not clear or well trained enough to handle the energy. do i just need to do more energy work cause i haven't really done much?

other thing. is it just practice with a kind of detachment (and relaxing them when you notice tightening) that keeps the muscles in your body form contracting when attempting to project?

Thx!
