Yes, I have been researching NDE's for a few years now along with OBE's.  I have had a few OBE's, but that is all.

I believe that the professor that you are referring to is Howard Storm who was an art professor at the University of Kentucky.

He talked about the nature of the Universe as being divided into multiple dimensions all containing intelligent life, some physical some non physical.

Concerning the role of DMT in these experiences, it is interesting to note how its effect causes very common experiences among those who have NDE's such as the tunnel, the being of light, the life review etc.  

Perhaps the commonality is due to the DNA structure of humans.  Still Robert Monroe raised the question are we not more than our bodies?

The thing I don't understand is that I read some accounts of confirmed "atheists" who died and then claimed to have met God complete with a life review.  

How is this possible?  Are the sources of these experiences internal or external in nature?

So does this mean that people will find that which they are seeking?

I was wondering if a person who had a very intense Near Death Experience had more validity in that experience than a person who had multiple OBE experiences?

It seems that most NDE's that I have read definitely proclaim a meeting with God as the creator of all things while it seems that most folks in the OBE camp claim that God is just a belief construct?

I am not attempting here to argue the point for the existence of God or not, but rather determine why the different viewpoints between NDE's and OBE's?

Every time I have a lucid dream, I like to take note of the amount of detail that is there.  It always seems that there is so much more there than I can possibly have imagined. For example, I remember a certain dream where I was in an open market and I was examining the faces of the people.  There was so much variety and detail.  I remembered thinking to myself that there was no way that I could have constructed the amount of  features that I was seeing and was wondering how this could be accomplished when suddenly a voice spoke to me saying, "These are the faces of people that I have created and I am allowing you to use them in this dream".   Needless to say I was blown away.  Has anyone else had this kind of experience?
