Shaolin- Yes, you can hear sounds in the astral. Whenever I project, I make it a point to speak out loud, even though there's no one around. My voice sounds the same except there might be just a slight echo to it.

As for "super powers" in the astral, I've succeeded in creating fire and ice, and have used teleportation. But I still can't fly, levitate, or walk through walls....yet. I've also tried climbing walls like Spider-Man once but couldn't do it.

Patty, I completely get what you're saying.  :)

This time travel stuff sounds really intriguing. I don't think it's possible to change the past though. Only observe.

I think I once went back in time. I don't know if I was just dreaming or  projecting subconsciously. I remember having someone guiding me but I don't really remember anything except vague images of dinosaurs. And I do think I remember the person or guide? with me telling me that I won't remember any of it.

Too long I've been sidetracked seeing the physical asleep as a signpost I have to be looking for. It's very counterproductive! Just checking can bring you out of what you're trying to accomplish in the first place.

Somehow I need to get weaned off checking my status by checking how my body feels.

I tend to do this myself. I was just attempting AP again today less than an hour ago and I made it to where my physical body felt numb and I made a mental note of that and I usually look for that as a signpost.

Though of course, my mom would HAVE to interrupt yet AGAIN. I was furious. I'm still a bit upset with her too.

I'm gonna go read up more on chakras and energy. Today I couldn't project. I woke up so tired--which was odd and I even tried projecting after I awoke but then after 5 minutes my mom interrupted me then I just gave up, but I was tired all day and took a nap about 5 and tried projecting but ended up falling asleep. I don't feel as tired now so I'm gonna try when I go to bed tonight.

Quote from: FrankHi:

Please don't try and fight that "tugging". I know it only too well. It's just that the physical is our Primary Focus and it cannot be fought. Gentle persuasion is the key to staying "out" longer.

Yours,
Frank

Gentle persuasion hm? I'll try that. Thanks.  :)

I think my longest willed projection has been about 5 minutes. I'd love to have one for 3 to 4 hours though. I guess I'll just have to keep training!  :)

And on the "tugging"...oh yeah. You'll know when you're being pulled back. It happened to me today and I was furious. I shouted "Nooooo!!" and tried to stay somehow but I couldn't.  :(

That sounds so cool StellerCat! I've met at least two people that I know of but there wasn't any romance or anything. I met a girl once in what I think was a mall and I said "you can see me?" and she said "Yeah" and then I woke up. 2 weeks ago I met some guy who just wanted to show me his piercings. I was trying to teleport to someone's house but ended up over "Piercy's" house and I basically pretty much started ignoring him and I woke up.

I don't know if I'm really ready to start interacting with others yet. Right now I'm just focusing on being able to fly, walk through walls, and basically shape reality the way I want. Once I master that, then I'll venture out of my house (since everytime I project I don't leave my house--except for that one time I tried teleporting--and the time after that when I jumped out my window to fly but ended up floating gently down to the ground in my backyard)

No Sarah, keep on going because I feel the same way.  :D I can't talk to anyone I know. They'd think I was weird or something.

4 days ago I projected and saw my body for the first time. Usually when I get out of my body I don't turn back to look at it. But I did this time and when I saw myself I said "COOL!" I didn't see any silver chord though.

The day after that, I was astral projecting, but I actually thought I was in my real body because everything felt too real and when I looked at my bed I didn't see a body so I figured that I had just fallen out of my bed onto the floor and got back in the bed. Then next thing I know I wake up and realized that I missed a good thing.  :( I hadn't had an OBE  that real in a while.

Yesterday I was stuck in my body. My body was lying on it's right side. My astral self tried SO hard to get out but couldn't. I even rolled over on my stomach and tried to push myself out with my arms but I was STILL stuck. I was SO mad.

Today I was able to project but I think I might've been in a semi lucid dream while projecting. I went through the whole noise thing and felt myself floating in darkness then I landed on the floor. I don't know who's room I was in though. I think it was my room but it didn't look like my room. Anyway, I got up (though I saw myself in the 3rd person until I got up) then I went to my dresser to pick up my class ring (I had been trying to get to that thing while projecting for a week now but never able to make it) and when I picked it up I was so happy. I saw a clock that said 9:24 and I put my ring back down and started jumping up and down with excitement shouting "I made it! I made it!"  but then I started to feel myself leaving and my physical body waking up. I was like "Nooooo!!" because I wanted to stay and practice some more exercises. I tried to make a ball of fire in between my outstretched hands and I think I saw an orange flash but then I woke up.  :( I looked at the time and it said 10:24. I was an hour off. In my time zone at least.

I'm getting better at willing these OBEs though. I was getting frustrated for a bit though because I was able to do it 2 days in a row 2 weeks ago, then hardly anything last week beyond feeling my astral arms and legs disconnect, but this week I've done it four days in a row though my projections this week aren't as long as the ones I had 2 weeks ago.

Yes.

I've astral projected from all positions. While lying on my stomach, my astral form fell through the bed and I ended up under it and had to crawl out from under it.

I think it might be better for me to project on my back even tho I don't like sleeping on my back because I was finally able to astral project on my side earlier today and I think I had some kinda split consciousness thing going on because I got out of my body but could only see out of one eye because my physical body's head was halfway buried in my pillow and the eye that was buried in the pillow was the one I couldn't see out of while in my astral form. It was really annoying and uncomfortable and I think I was only out of my body for maybe 30 seconds.

Though one thing struck me as odd. There were no strange noises while I was separating. Just quiet. That's the first time that's ever happened. I thought there was always supposed to be some kinda noise. Guess not.

I've found that in the few times that I've been able to astral project successfully, like earlier today, it's taken me about 15-20 minutes.

Welcome to Magic! / Clear Quartz
June 09, 2005, 00:44:00
I first started using crystal magick last year when I had really intense headaches. My class ring's stone is crystal quartz and I always wondered why I could feel some kind of tingling sensation from it when I wore it. When I started reading up on the relationship between crystals and magick I began using it for healing and from then on, every time I wore my ring while I had a headache, the pain would either dampen, or fade away to nothing.

Once earlier this year I used my sapphire ring and did a spell to enhance my dreams. I wore it while I slept. It was the first time I had done this. I think it pretty much back-fired because I had a semi-lucid nightmare which ended in me drowning and I was holding my breath underwater in my dream only to wake up gasping for air because I was really holding my breath. So it worked, but I was hoping to have a good dream. Not bad.  :D

I read (somewhere on this forum) that when you first wake up or gain some sense of consciousness, don't move. Just let your mind relax and it should be much easier to get back into a trance-like state. I was really surprised it worked the first time.

Last week when I found this forum, I began reading up on different techniques to astral project. Before last week, I haven't tried to astral project in a year. The farthest I had ever gotten to was the vibrating. The successful seperatings I've had up until last week have been by accident.

So I read some posts and found that it's said to be easier to project once you first wake up so I told myself that I would try when I woke up the next morning. I went to bed and when I first regained consciousness, I tried astral projecting. It only took a few minutes until I started to seperate from my body. I heard a static-like noise and I was able to open my astral eyes and I realized that my astral head was not in sync with my body. I was lying on my back with my head lying more on it's right, but my astral head had moved out of position and was more on it's left. I could see my room, mostly the ceiling, but also my dresser and my door in my astral eyes' peripheral view. My head "went back in" and I tried moving my astral head again. I did, but I still felt that something wasn't right so I merged back. On the third time I was finally able to seperate and when I did, the noise stopped instantaneously.

I got out of my bed like I normally would. This was different because I've never just gotten up like you normally would after awaking. Before that, I'd fallen through my bed very fast onto the floor and had to crawl out from under my bed, or I've been yanked up, like being pulled up a wind tunnel, etc.

Anyway, I couldn't believe how real everything was. I walked out of my room and into my parents' room. My dad was lying across the bed, perpendicular to the way you're supposed to sleep. I looked out of his window and it was dark outside and it was snowing (which is odd because when I was in my room I could tell that it was daytime). I went downstairs and into the kitchen and said "oh my god" out loud. My voice sounded like it normally does, but it had a slight echo to it.

I went into the dining room and tried to do something that you can't do in your real body. I tried climbing the wall like Spider-Man but I couldn't do it.

I then wondered if I was advanced enough to teleport so I tried teleporting over a friend's house. I said my friend's name out loud and nothing happened. I said it again and then there was this whole warp effect. I don't know if it was like a reality warp or just light speed but I ended up over someone's house who I had never seen before in my life. It was some guy waking up outta bed. My presence woke him up and he started talking to me. He started showing me his piercings but then I couldn't make out anything else he was saying because I guess I started ignoring him because I didn't know who he was and I started backing up away from him and then I woke up.

When I woke up, I immediately went to my dad's room and discovered that he was sleeping in the exact same way that I saw him in while I was projecting.

The very next day, I tried APing again and it worked. My astral form's lower body seperated first, my head was the last thing to disconnect. I got up, amazed that I was actually able to astral project on command two days in a row. I went into my parents' room again and my dad was sleeping (the normal way this time) and I tried to pull the covers off of him to see if I could wake him but he didn't wake up. He was snoring like he usually is. I went to the doorway and figured that I'd begin some astral exercises. I opened my palm and looked at it and said "fire". I was trying to create a ball of fire in my hand. It didn't come in the palm of my hand though. Instead, many flames appeared in my dad's room, on the floor and on the covers. Then the door caught on fire and I said "ice" to put all the flames out. Ice covered all the flames and the door was in cased in ice too. It looked like an ice wall. I melted the ice wall by touching it and willing it to melt. Someone was with me too. I think it was my mom? They were worried that I'd get burned but as I walked to the landing I told them that as long as I was in the astral plane, then nothing could hurt me. I even pressed my hand down on a nail that I saw sticking up as I was going through a window to show them that it didn't hurt. Someone that I work with was looking through my window (not stalkerish though) and I saw that it was so beautiful and bright outside. I wanted to fly and recapture a scenario that I'd had a year or so ago when I flew through and over clouds, staring directly at the sun, in a lucid dream. But all I ended up doing was floating gently down to the ground on the patio in my back yard. From the ground I even tried lifting my arms and even jumping but to no avail and then I woke up. I immediately got up with a smile on my face and went down to the window that I was at on the astral plane and looked out of it and it was beautifully sunny.

I've read that you can ask spiritual guides for help, but I kinda don't want to. I wanna learn how to do things on my own right now.

On my third AP, I was able to see myself in a mirror (which I wanted to do before I projected). I looked like I always do.

So far I've succeeded in creating fire (though not in the way I intended) and ice as well as pick up/touch objects that I planned on touching, but I haven't been able to fly (on my second or third APs) or levitate sitting indian style or walk through solid walls. I tried walking through the kitchen wall on my 3rd OOBE only to hit it like I would a solid wall. I woke up laughing because well, it was funny and I bet I looked real stupid doing it.

But I'm not gonna stop trying though.

I'm definitely no expert. I'm pretty much still a novice, but it sounds like you're on your way to astral projecting. It seems like you're able to move your astral body, but you're still connected to your physical body. This happened to me a few days ago and I started sinking and rising back and forth, but I got scared because I didn't like the slow sinking feeling. I wanted to just get out of bed as if I normally would with my physical body, just like I was able to do twice last week.

Thanks for the welcome.  :)

Hi, my name's Justin and I've been lurking for about a week now. I finally just registered. I'm 23 and a college student. I've always been fascinated with astral travel. The first OOBE that I remember happened when I was about 4 (I have a pretty good memory). I remember getting up out of my bed and leaving my room. My feet weren't touching the floor and my legs weren't moving. It felt like having roller skates on after you build up enough speed and just let them roll you along.

I approached the hallway and went into the bathroom, phased through the wall and gently glided on the air until I reached the back yard of the house next door, then I landed in the grass. It was early morning, about 6 or 7 o'clock during summer. The sky was blue and I remember hearing a gentle, peaceful melody. The grass was really green too. That's all I remember of it though and I'll never forget it.

In my late teens my father finally got a computer and I began surfing the net, often researching things like, astral projection, ESP, magick, etc. I started practicing meditation to learn to clear my mind to achieve better results in my psychic practices, like aura viewing and telekinesis. I learned how to see auras but never got the hang of TK. I soon stopped meditating though because I started feeling other presences besides myself sometimes and I'd be alone. I didn't like feeling like that and hoped that I'd stop feeling those presences and it did stop almost immediately.

About a year ago I began getting interested in ESP again and felt that I was a little stronger to face whatever's "out there". I also wanted to find a way to enhance my precognition because I had had quite a few precognitive dreams that came true (good things), I'd always know when a certain song would come on the radio and said out loud once "this song is on the radio right now" (just to make it feel more real and not so coincidental) and when I turned on the radio it was on. Also I think I had a telepathic experience while I was talking to a friend on the phone. She was talking about this person who I've never met before and I somehow cut her off and started telling her something about what the girl had said. My friend was like "how did you know?" I said "I don't know" and my friend was pretty freaked about it for a minute.  :D

Anyway, during this time, I was having lucid dreams often and they weren't good ones. They were downright terrifying and I noticed that they usually happened if I slept on my back, which I rarely do but I guess somewhere in the middle of the night or early morning I'd end up on my back. This went on for a good year and finally subsided last year. The last really bad lucid dream I had, ended up being a "two-for-one", which means I had two lucid dreams in just one night, where both times my body was paralyzed and something would be in my room with me. First it was a "Were-Man" like creature that stood on two legs that slowly rose from the side of my bed, and darted for me which caused my body to jerk and I fully awoke. I went to sleep again and had another lucid dream. This time there were zombies outside my room. It was dark and my mom ended up opening my door and said "Justin, do I look any different to you?" and she turned on my light and she was a zombie. Then all the zombies came rushing in my room and grabbed me by my neck and my body jerked me awake again. That was a bad night.

Since then, I haven't had any lucid dreams as bad. The night I found this site last week, I was actually able to astral project on command. I read that the easiest time to do it was when you first wake up and I was able to do it on my first try. I was able to do it again the next night too but with slightly better results. I'll save it for the astral experience thread or something. I've rambled on long enough.  :)
