This morning during a lucid dream I heard an extremely loud knocking on my front door.
I sleep with ear plugs so it stunned me and I woke up with a start and raced to the door to see who was knocking so insistently and angrily.

Like the posts stated above, no-one was there.
What was odd was that the knocking continued as I woke up...like the astral knocking blended into my waking awareness.

I ended up just feeling annoyed that an interesting telekinesis lucid dream had been cut short.  :-P

Surely you can find another way to distinguish between dream and astral. Have you ever thought of just asking?
Well I've done this on a number of occasions in highly focused LD's (or were they AP's?) and the people always tell me that I'm insane and of course it isn't a dream, so I raise my voice a little and demand the truth and they acquiesce to say it is a dream....
There's no point to me, is it just a reflection of expectations or what is actually happening? I usually don't bother out of frustration.  :-P

Possibly.
But the intensity of the vibrations without my really expecting anything like them literally astounded me beyond belief....I hadn't even fallen asleep when they came in like an aggressive tsunami.

It's possible that the plants that are the source of this compound may fall into a considerably lesser category of 'power plants' as named by shaman-influenced writers like Castaneda etc.
In their terms maybe a subtle assemblage point movement is induced when the body reaches a suggestive, relaxed state....more so than usual and thus the increased vividness of perception etc.

Just my humble thoughts and alternative view on the matter.

Loss of sexual energy plus adultery perhaps? LOL

I had today off from work, so I woke up around 6AM and went back to bed without taking any galantamine as I'm taking it every 2nd day.

Anyway, please forgive me for combining an LD and OBE in this same post....

I fell asleep and heard a strange noise and sat up wide awake in bed, however I realized it wasn't my room but I was in some high-rise apartment adjacent to my city....except I saw the WTC towers there with black smoke billowing out of them.
I knew I was LD'ing (I guess  ) so I decided to get out of the building and go into the city to investigate.
I was walking in that direction when it strongly hit me that I came to full lucidity with no suggestion, no effort whatsoever. (A post-galantamine use side-effect perhaps?)

Suddenly things went dim and I was back in my body with no chance to prolong that...oh well.

However, it was just a few seconds more and the vibrations came in nice and smooth.
I rolled out and realized I was in my bedroom from the house from 4 years ago (space and time are just so wacky in the real time zone!)

Floated/walked out into the kitchen and had a desire to push my arm through the wall with the telephone on it to feel the sensations (just an amusing addiction I can't get rid of): some resistance at first then that familiar gluey-cottage cheese feeling. Saw the rest of my arm on the other side of the wall which was hilarious.

Okay, went out through the wall into the yard and floated over the fence (why not through it though? LOL) into the neighbour's yard and saw a lady picking up some tools who looked in my direction but didn't sense/see me at all.

However,
her cat did see me and ran up to me meowing his little furry self like crazy in the friendliest fashion, but stopped dead in it's tracks after suddenly becoming confused/suspicious I guess.
The owner kept saying "what are you going on about?!" to her pet.

Anyway I felt this was an annoyance so I flew up onto the roof and surveyed the neighborhood for where I wanted to zoom off to, but lo and behold the cat had ran around the other side of the house now meowing up at me from the ground and flicking it's tail like crazy.
I felt like I might get 'caught' (if one could!), so I flew off to another house and watched some girls in a room painting their nails. (Don't you just love the Astral?)

Flew to the nearby shopping centre and watched all the people walk through me etc feeling nothing (perhaps?)...got bored and went into the news agency and a magazine or 2 caught my eye.
Thought to myself, "What an absurd thing to take an interest in while out of body."
Made a mental note to try and avoid the mundane while projecting. LOL

Anyway,
both of these experiences were effortless so I'm guessing the use of Galantamine might possibly be producing some slight changes in neurotransmitter biochemistry just after a few uses, making achieving projection and LD's more 'natural'.
Who knows.....

Just thought I'd share that fun little 'outing' with you guys.

Hi Lonedaughter.

That's a really interesting experience - quite lovely in fact.

I had a sort of similar experience in the past where I was in the vibrational state and I felt a woman's hand brushing my fringe off my forehead in a caressing manner, like a mother would. It didn't just happen once but she kept on doing it - very soothing but perplexing since I have short hair!

Nonetheless my ideal self would be me when I was a lot younger.

A similar thing happened after I had surgery on my nose once in the recovery room, where I had my eyes closed and the same thing happened. I opened my eyes and there was no-one there.
Very nurturing these beings can be.

Perhaps it was your friend.

A similar thing happened to my friend Jo, who woke up in the morning and felt me embrace her like I was insecure and lost (I WAS at the time), it creeped her out since she's quite receptive psychically and she thought I had passed over or something.
(Now this is odd):
She also asked me if I shave my chest (I actually use a removal cream because my chest hair irritates the heck out of me since I sometimes get dermatitis), because she felt a prickly sensation from my chest like regrowth (which WAS there in fact).
She had no way of knowing this....it creeped us both out!

...But proved everything we both knew anyway.

How cool to know it's happening to others!

I find early morning's always best.
I use the 'WILD' lucid dreaming technique and it instead induces OBE's 95% of the time.
Maybe you should choose any affirmation and focus on it like a mantra?
I use "I remain aware as my body goes to sleep" - works like a charm.

I tend to have more OBE's around the new moon which is about now I think.
I was born during the new moon, maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know.

Hi Shinobi.

I'm so sorry to hear about your horror story with galantamine!
Did you start with 4mg and later increase it to 16mg or just begin with 16mg?

I only took 4mg - just to note any changes upon dream recall/clarity, so no, I never experienced any nausea or any side-effects whatsoever.

I'm pretty sensitive to any form of medication, nutritional supplements etc. so I always have to be careful with how much I ingest.
That's why I only used 4mg, and as it happened, the energetic intensity I got made me feel like I was going to burst. (In a positive way of course  )
It's pretty strong stuff, for me at least anyway.

Every so often within the last few years I've experienced a severe bout of vertigo,  I don't know whether it truly is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo as the literature says or if it's connected to projection etc. thus a loosening of the 2 bodies with incomplete realignment.
The last time I had severe vertigo I had just finished witnessing my deceased grandparents while in a lucid dream/OBE. I've since read in Lucid Dreaming research literature that there may be evidence connecting the vestibular mechanism to do with inner balance, to the actual REM mechanism in sleep.

This 'wobbly' quality that I have at times strongly prevents me from EVER wanting to experiment with anything mind-altering whatsoever....understandably. lol
I read a large amount of info online before trying Galantamine however and I thought I'd just see - I don't think I could ever tolerate even 8mg of the stuff.

All the best,

Justin.

Mine came from the fact that I used to change into a cat sometimes while OBE'ing and I tried flying across the roofs of the neighbour's houses.

I haven't posted here in quite a while now....having had regular OBE's but mostly of a sexual nature so....

Anyway I recently purchased Galantamine capsules from the net and wanted to note the difference upon dream clarity/recall, but I wasn't expecting an OBE from them the first night!
So.....

I went to bed around 10PM, woke up at midnight with a bit of a cough for some odd reason and fell asleep again.
Then, just like clockwork, woke up around 3:03AM again and emptied bladder in the rest room, took one capsule of Dreamamins 'Lucid Dreaming' and lay down again letting my body relax.
It seemed to take AGES (I've since read that about galantamine) to reach the sleepy stage, but when I did I got something I just didn't expect.

The vibrations came buzzing in but along with that I heard this constant coughing everywhere, like an annoying parody on my earlier coughing fit except it wouldn't stop.
To compound the cacophony there was this very loud mosquito whining sound everywhere in the room that oscillated like mad.

The combination of these 3 sounds made me want to burst out with hysterical laughter - it was totally maddening but deliciously surreal.

Now this is the best part:
I willed to float out of my body but felt some resistance at first which was immediately replaced by my sensing the presence of feminine energy which promptly decided to give my energy body an astral massage.

The hands were definitely feminine and tender yet firm in their 'kneading the dough' action across various points on my energy body.
It felt like only one being was present but she must have been crossed with a centipede because she was massaging numerous points at once. LOL

This continued on for what seemed like 1-2 minutes....very pleasant indeed.
At which point then I felt I could separate with greater ease and when I did so I ended up in my bedroom from the old house again...the one I lived in when I was 11 years old (I'm 34 now).
In this bedroom I was being harassed by a very insistent and intimidating astral mosquito (!) or maybe my mental projection of the sound I was still being pestered by. I tried everything to get rid of it but to no avail. Eventually I jumped back into the astral bed and pulled the astral covers over my head(!) and then promptly returned to my physical body in the here and now again.

Later, I had numerous extremely vivid dreams and one lucid dream of explaining to one boy who had everything, the power of having your own creatable universe inside of you which NO physical object or amount of money could ever parallel with.(Was that little boy me?   )
In that dream I manipulated the reality around him like Magneto or Jean Grey/Phoenix from X-Men would have....it was very philosophical in it's theme...like I was actually convincing a part of myself of the deeper benefits of energetic exploration/development.

Galantamine has definitely proven itself as a worthy addition to my project of OBE'ing/LD'ing with powerful effects with only a minimal intent to go with it in the first place.

The feelings I had during the OBE massage above were of the most intense kind I've EVER had in my 13 years plus of OBE'ing. I felt as though someone had filled my rocket fuel canisters to 120% and I was literally going to 'POP'!
My feeling on this was the fact that Galantamine sustains that borderland sleep state seemingly endlessly thus making the experience more stable and innately powerful...much like Hemi-Sync on steroids. LOL

I intend to use G. on weekends and every 2nd night (or early morning rather) so  a resistance doesn't build up to the extract.

Just thought I'd share all of the above with my AP friends.

At one time while 'out' I went into somebody's house (a bad habit I have while out of body LOL) and meandered around innocently until I came across a lady writing something at a desk.
She looked like she was doing some bookwork of sorts.

As I drifted past slowly watching her I happened to move through (or at least that was the sensation I got) a very large indoor pot plant near her desk.

Amazingly, it rustled (I actually interacted with it  :?: ) and she looked up immediately.
She then squinted at me as though she was trying to focus and then let out a yelp like a dog!
She screamed out to her husband in a horrified voice "Steven get out here, there's a ghost!!"
Her husband who was in the bathtub burst out laughing saying "What?"

At that point I felt pretty awkward about what I'd done and I left that house fairly quickly....LOL

After returing to the physical and then re-leaving I went back to the house and there was no-one there. (?)
It felt like a different time or something.

During one OBE in my bedroom I was standing next to my physical and saw my cat sitting on my bed just watching me.
All of a sudden my cat became terrified as another strange ferocious looking cat entered my room.

In my over-protective manner I immediately acted in this way:

I grabbed the foreign intruder whilst mentally opening a portal on/in my bedroom wall and threw the cat into it with full force, then immediately 'sealed' the portal with a powerful gesture of intent and it closed accordingly.

This experience jolted me somewhat as it was very intense and like some kind of crisis so I got sucked back into my body.

When I 'woke up' I realised how odd it was that I knew precisely what had to be done and how to do it....as though I'd done it many times before.  :?:

Quite peculiar....

Another time when out of body I went up the hallway and my cat was on the chaise lounge. I approached and went 'Boo!' and she saw me and bolted terrified into the bathroom!

When I was back in the physical I walked up the hallway to get to the bathroom and there was my cat looking at me with googly, distrusting eyes, totally unsure if it was the 'real' me.
Ha!
I calmy talked to her and she relaxed after a bit....

Hi.
Yes, I'm new here even though I used to browse through this forum over a year ago, but......

There is SO much here I want to read I'm going cross-eyed.
This place is definitely up this cat's alley.

Grateful to all who make this place possible, and to all the contributors in the field who have opened our eyes.

Began having OBE's intentionally when I was 22 (now I'm 33) after getting into Sylvan Muldoon's books, then Robert Monroe's and Robert Bruce's.

Some weeks I can have up to 3-4 nights (or rather, early mornings) of being 'out and about' and then I get dry spells as we all do.

Definitely found that sexual energy is a good instigator so celibacy is the key to be free for me.  :D

Hi all, and lots of best wishes from the winged_kitty from Down Under.

While 'out' a few years ago I moved into my lounge room and heard funny giggles and running away sounds.
Looking into the dining room there were all these very little coloured chairs and tables and other odd bits of furniture.
I felt that 'they' whoever they were, were hiding from me and I had just disturbed them.

I've got a big pre-raphaelite picture on the wall that has Titania, Oberon and fairies/elves in it, so I'm beginning to wonder....
