Hello everyone,

I had a few questions for the more experienced people out there and hoping you could answer them.  I am reading Astral Dynamics and haven't gone beyond theory yet (almost) :) so I am unsure if this is covered in the book. I have never had an OOE.  Just meditation that I have done and have had 1 deep, slow vibration experience.

1.   When did you start having OOE's? (i.e. age)

2.  Did your experiences start spontaneously or were you taught/teach yourself?

2.  How often do you have OOE's? (i.e. once a week, once a month, once a few months with difficulty, whenever you want.)

3.  When is the best time of day for you to perform OOE's?(i.e. First waking up, before bed)

4.  Do you lay down or sit in a chair while performing OOE's?

5.  How long does it take you from initiating a trance to projection-exit that becomes OOE?

6.  How long does your OOE's last?

Thanks for answering some of my questions.  Best wishes.
-Alex

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the boards and would like to say hello.  No experience in anything other than what I read with my curious mind.

Wow thanks for the replies!

The show on Discovery was very interesting about this subject.

Even the person whom made the cameras for the suits said they cannot take such good quality pictures.   I guess only one real way to know...someone OBE up there and tell us :)

I agree with Shayde.  Listen to yourself.  Before looking into OBE's I did a brief study on magic.  To tell you the truth as soon as the book started describing rituals and drawing signs,  I felt something was just not right.  It isn't necessarily evil or anything..I just felt the truth is held elsewhere.  Please no offense to you magic users.  I firmly believe if you have a great relationship with God, listen to your heart...for he dwells there and you can't go wrong.  Expanding the mind isn't ritualistic or religious in any sense unless you start idolizing someone other than God so I feel that you can persue these interests and not tarnish your faith.  Just some quick thoughts..hope it helps and best wishes.

Hahaha.  I won't admit it either :)

And for Avix  you said that "Also, on the spiritual side of things, if you achieve something quickly and easy then is it worth anything at all? ". I achieved many OBE(s) before from a full wake state in less than 5 minutes. And it was worth it –I got OBE!.  And most people here started to develop there spiritual live in order to "fly".

That original question was pertaining to "Making yourself pass-out to achieve OBE" but you explained that is not the case so that question would not be valid (my sincerest apologies for misunderstanding).  The passing-out concept seemed a bit like taking mind altering drugs to achieve a trance state of the mind....both a shortcut/hacked way of focusing the mind which could cause unexpected results later in life.

For your breathing technique, I'll have to give it a shot.  If it works it works, glad it does for you.  Best wishes.

On the spiritual side of things, if you achieve something quickly and easy then is it worth anything at all?  Very similar to taking drugs to induce trance?

Edit:  Astral clarified this method is breath control and not a pass-out method, breathing for Hyperoxygenation not deprivation.  I stand corrected from earlier statement about not being overally healthy.

I just started my studies on OBE's (about a week).  For right now I am just learning to meditate.  Over the last week I have had 2 distinct noise/voices.

1.  The first was a meditation session I had on my couch.  I was really relaxed, my entire body was numb and I felt like someone had pushed me deep into my couch...then I heard my own voice ask myself, "Are you there?".  It wasn't an audible voice as if I could point to the direction of where that person is in the room but a voice within my ear itself..very distinct.  My voice was so sudden it brought me out of my meditation.

2.  2 Nights ago, I was trying another place of meditation..my bed.  I was feeling the same as the first encounter, relaxed, pushed into my bed, and numb when I heard like a loud crash/popping sound to my right.  I don't know what it is but broke my meditation.  I guess I have to learn to go with the flow of noises.

Whats interesting is I heard these noises alot in my life right before bed and just recently realized after reading on the subject of OBE's its a normal occurence during a deep trance state.  For now, I look forward to my nightly noise encounters.

This is my first book on studying OBE's.  I really enjoy the style and "meat" put forth by Robert Bruce.  After I'm done reading it I will have to get another book by someone else to get a good comparison.

Edit:  I was thinking of looking into OBE's and did searching on the subject.  The reviews of this book made me decide to read this before all others.  So far, I am glad I had chosen this book as my "Break-in".

Hi Oliver!  Wow.  When I was in the military and went to Australia I met alot of really nice New Zealanders.  Nicest people in the world.

Oops sorry.  Lets see.

Somewhere along my earlier years(in high school) I came to a self truth that we are no more than energy...but not in a singular sense.  More like everthing is tied together in a fabric with God, or a sentient being set within the middle from which everything radiates.  Does that sound weird?  So with this thinking in mind I have read a few books from the New Age section (I really don't care for that term New Age...makes the subject seem intangible).  I have always had a curious mind.  Recently I picked up a book called Modern Magic.  I do a little research on an author before getting a book since I find alot of books leaving you more empty.  Something happened while reading the first chapter of that book.

1.  I finally asked myself a question, "Why havent you even tried anything you've been reading? Such as applying the things you've learned."

2.  I came to realize that cermonial magic or magic didn't fit into the truth of myself.  Seemed a bit wrong.  If we are energy then does not everything then come from my mind?  Maybe thats how magic works..helping you focus.  I dunno.  These are just fresh thoughts and I mean no offense to any practioners of magic.

So..needless to say I looked on amazon.com and stumbled upon Astral Dynamics.  I had read Pyshic Warrior a year ago (not knowing what is was about) and became curious.  I read most of the reviews on how Robert puts on paper on "How To OOE" and theory...something most writers have not done.  I'm into the 3rd chapter and I like it.  I have had no "inner feeling" that in anyway what Robert writes if false but more so being truth..very unlike what I got out of Modern Magic.   So, thats where I am and how I got here.   I am very curious and patient to learn.  I have never had any sort of OOE that I remember (shadow memory).  I would love nothing better that to do this first hand instead of read it but I know it requires patience and proper training.  For now, I am keeping a journal of my studies, experiences and meditating everynight.  Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading it.
