It's going to be a sad day when 2012 hits. I really detest how silly & laughable the metaphysical community as a "Whole" will look after nothing happens in 2012. So much for "Spiritual Ascension" as predicted. No one will take it seriously. This world's just going to get more materialistic. :/

this is a great fear of mine, but it's too beautiful of a dream to give up on when you're my age (22) and you're already sick of the material world.  the anomaly for me is that i just act like it's going to be a hugely spiritual event and for some reason my reality is speeding up towards that idea.  i don't believe in the end of the world, nor do i believe our lazy asses are just going to get hit like some kinda lightning rod with spiritual ascension powers, i actually believe that the metaphysical world will be revived through the use of celebrity figures gone mad and a staged Anti-Christ or some crap in order to create the next world religion because Jesus cults (Islam/Christianity) are getting tiring and doesn't work with the material world.

Well, the Mayan calender is not based on nothing, lol- you should give them much more credit than that. It is based on the precession of the equinoxes. So.... in 2012..... the equinoxes will have precessed.
