in my past post about terence mckennas time wave zero program and novelty theory i didnt get as many responses as id hoped for. thus id like to know who all knows of this theory.....better yet who would agree that it might happen(or atleast want it to happen)

McKenna looked past certain flaws in his theory, especially elements of the i-ching. If he tried to create the same theory now, I doubt anyone would accept it. In the end I think it's a theory that you can make fit your wanted results.

If you look at his definition of "novel", what is "novel" is really just a person's opinion. What some would find "novel", others wouldn't consider. So in every person's individual life, they could always say it's becoming more novel all the time. 1000 years ago, a person could find their lives becoming more novel as they get older, learn, and understand more.

Ray Kurzweil sees something similar happening, but rather than viewing it as "novelty", sees it as growth in a combination of science/tech and human capacity to learn. He believes we'll reach a point in the not too distant future where we'll be able to live indefinitely and without bodies... not because of anything spiritual or supernatural, but because of science.

While both men are really smart, they both seem to rely on a combination of intuition and faith, mixed in with a few facts and a LOT of theory. In other words, fun to learn about, don't take it too seriously.

most definetly im very interested by it but id prefer it over any 2012 doomsday theories....i mean come on take nasa's 2012 solar flare warning in 2012 do to photon energy increase uh um guess what the flare happened but didnt do a single thing they kept planes out of the northern hemisphere for like a day for precaution.

I for one do think that we are becoming more 'aware', I'm not sure about interconnected- but whether it means something or not (in terms of eschatology) will be soon shown, one way or the other.

it does appear man is growing in serveral ways be this the preceeds of novelty or not its still a good thing and we should hope for the best of man kind.as we are a part of man kind instead of focusing and trying to prepare for the so called "dooms day" we cant stop it prevent it or anything if its ment to happen its gonna happen but instead we should work at furthuring man kind as a whole instead of cowaring behind a what if(a completely dilusional what if) just waking up everyday is a what if on life even falling asleep is so why focus on the winter solstice as the end of humanity but instead the end of humanity as we know it(key word "as WE" know it)

I agree with Mckenna in that "novelty" increases, could almost say exponentially, but that's just aware observation of complexity trough time. Everything that increases this way is bound to hit singularity in relation to something else eventually, in this case it could be our capacity to understand what's happening around us, lose track of progress.
Part where he goes on pattern matching in his timewave zero program i can't agree, you can find patterns everywhere you want, that is just brilliant simple observation gone too far when it should have stayed as base for further abstract reasoning and philosophical voyage.

Mckenna has many other ideas in his theory and otherwise very good insight on many things, i find them lot more interesting than his novelty theory as a whole.

i agree with you on that. he even has other theories out there that are interesting such as how homo erectus and homo neanderthalensis used psilocybe cubensis to  acheive higher evolution into homo sapien(im a massive sceptic on evolution so dont take this as my belief just bringing it to attention haha). he gets this from psilocybin in low amounts improves vision(hunter gatherer skills increase) in higher improves sexual activity(furthuring population) and in high doses gives profound psychedelic experiences(the creation of religion)
