Title: The photon belt - One of my interests this month lol
Post by: urshebear on March 06, 2012, 03:39:24
So I only heard about the photon band concept recently and am kind of surprised that this is new to me. Even more surprised that I haven't seen it mentioned here on the pulse before. As always I value the opinions of the astralpulse community and was wondering if anyone had any light to shed on the topic in general?  :-)

Oh and I would also appreciate if anyone recommend some good reading material on the topic please and thankyou  :-) :-)

As long as you understand that it is pure fiction...

read whatever you want and have fun!

Just to add to the info.... photons don't orbit, something has to make them orbit....

Whaaat naaw dumb, I was told it was real. so the photon belt doesn't actually exist?

Well, since I have first had contact with circles like ours (1998 or so) I have been hearing prophecies related to the photon belt, and when the earth would pass through it (2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2010, and now 2012).

None of the others have come to pass. It doesn't mean it isn't real, but it makes it awfully hard to believe in the stuff, you know?

No. It does not exist. It is pure fiction.

It does not even rise to the level of pseudo-science.

December 23, 2009: The solar system is passing through an interstellar cloud that physics says should not exist. In the Dec. 24th issue of Nature, a team of scientists reveal how NASA's Voyager spacecraft have solved the mystery.

see caption"Using data from Voyager, we have discovered a strong magnetic field just outside the solar system," explains lead author Merav Opher, a NASA Heliophysics Guest Investigator from George Mason University. "This magnetic field holds the interstellar cloud together and solves the long-standing puzzle of how it can exist at all."

It exists and it is the catalyst that will wipe out our civilization, hold on to your hats.

Interstellar magnetic fields exist.

Photon belts do not.

A magnetic field is not the same thing as a photon belt.  And yes, it might be rough.

And what if it doesn't?

Indeed, and why even worry about something we can't do anything to prevent, on the very slim offchance it were real?

It is like saying there is a 1.3% chance that the sun is going to explode in the next 100 years. It would be a chance, yes, but there is no way to prepare for it or against it, and we would not suffer any conseqences for not preparing, since the result would be the same. and in the overwhelmingly likely event it doesn't happen, very much effort was wasted.

It is not possible for photons to form into a "belt" in regular space.

The only possibility of forming into anything remotely resembling a belt would be in approaching a Black Hole. If we were to be approaching photons forming into a belt near a black hole the photons would be the least of our problems.

Humanity's obsession with cataclysmic predictions is insatiable.

During WWI and then again in WWII many Europeans believed that the Rapture was right around the corner. At least they had a pretty good reason to think that. There were a lot of days that were indistinguishable from Armageddon scenarios.

Note: Astronomically speaking, our solar system is moving AWAY from the Pleiades system.

You know what would be interesting?... if astronomers discovered that we were moving toward a Black Hole and in 173,354 years we will get sucked in and be completely annihilated. I wonder if *that* would change the way people behave?

My metaphysics teacher taught the class that we are already in the photon belt now but in dec we will become completely immersed in it and she also said that scientists don't know if we will survive but we will. If scientists were worried it would mean that the photon belt would have to be a fact. but its just a theory!  :x

A more common word for "photons" is "light".

"Light" is just lots of photons.

If we were in a "photon belt" or a 'light belt' there would be no night. At the very least we would be able to look up into the sky at night and see a band of light across the sky that got bigger and brighter every day.

That isn't happening because there is no "photon belt" out there.

If there were we would see it. (because it is light)

We are obviously NOT entering any sort of photon belt.

When you say that scientists don't know that we will survive, or that they are worried, what specificly do you mean? Which scientists, for instance, and where can I read about their statements?

I don't mean to be argumentative, just wary- I have seen people try to justify things to others by saying that "scientists" are asserting them; very much deception can and does happen this way, because people have a reverence for the idea of science, and accept the purported word of "scientists", even when they cannot access it directly.

I would not want to see you or others lied to by people using this tactic, afterall!

Stillwater these are questions I should have asked her. I feel like she could have easily said its a "theory" but she made out like it was something scientific. Maybe I need to take a step back here and get back to being a little more sceptical. I'm not going back again. She also said animals  don't have souls which just doesn't resignate with me either.

The only photon belt you should be preparing for is the one that makes it fashion marketing genius. I'll take two.

Cheers,

They should make them a retro sixties phosphorescent glow-in-the-dark kind,
in the latest cool colors like lime green and hot pink.

Everybody at Times Square at midnight Dec 21, 2012 will have to have one, or two.

Agreed! Though it does seem rather understandable being that it is quite an astounding little miracle that we are here in the first place doesn't it?

If the world had not been one in which we could exist, we wouldn't be here to wonder about it.

Since nothing can exist except in a world where its existence is made possible, it should not be miraculous that it exists in the world that it does.
