I'm Arman, and I'm 25, live in Southern California, lately have been experiencing OBE symptoms, but have yet to consciously have an OBE. One of these days. I have Robert Bruce's book, but man that thing is tedious. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

i learned to Lucid Dream a good few years ago now.. i find myself in them spontaneously mostly or by using the MILD or definitely more effective WILD method for those that are well read in Stephen La Berge terminology! haha
has anyone had an undoubted high level astral experience that they can share?
*what i mean by high- level is, an experience that they might find themselves in conversation with an intelligently responding dream character of sensation of Flying and jumping in the air and being able to stay there?

I'm Rusty, 23 (24 in a couple weeks). I have yet to have a successful OBE :-(. I have been devoting myself to serious practice for about 6 months altogether (it's been about a year, but I took a break in the middle).
I read my first OBE book about 5 or 6 years ago. I was introduced to the idea of exploring "other realms" from Don Juan and Carlos Castaneda. Shortly after I finished the series, I got interested in Dreaming (lucid dreaming) which ultimately led me to AP after some Googling. The first OBE book I got (which is still one of my favorites) was "Astral Projection and The Nature of Reality" by John Magnus. Since then, I've read every book I could get my hands on from Robert Monroe and Robert Bruce, to Robert Peterson (maybe I would be a more successful projector if my name was Robert) and all the way to Sylvan Muldoon and Osbourne Phillips and Melita Denning. From the new age to the occult, I've read the book. Recently I've also gotten involved in some shamanic traditions and other magickal practices. There is so much information about working in these altered states in so many different traditions, I highly recommend expanding your knowledge base to include training in things like shamanic journeying, trance-work, magickal practice, etc. It's all very helpful.
It has occurred to me recently that I was reading a lot about AP, but I wasn't doing any of it. While I have started actually practicing and making progress, I want to let everyone know that I have an extensive knowledge of all kinds of metaphysical practices and traditions and I am happy to help answer questions any time i can. Also, I work at a metaphysical bookshop with a lot of very accomplished metaphysical practitioners who have a huge knowledge base also, so I have a lot of resources. (Most of them are also psychics, so that may be of some use at some time)

A few nights back i had intense energy focussed in and around my head area
i thought it might be my third eye or crown chakra.. i heard loud vibrations and heard some distict astral noise.. that sounded totally real and convinving
but if i slightly broke my mellow trance i could hear nothing
the sensations were more intense and making me feel like i was physically vibration quite intensely in my head area.. shortly after this i was able to move energy around my body easily using Robert Bruces tactile awareness excercises that i had learned well beforehand.. no actual projection but it felt like i could have easily projected from this state.. it was only fear that stopped me.
I thought id share this, and would be very interested to hear if anyone else has had anything similar to me?

Hi my name is matthew, i am 25 and recently i have been experiencing strange horrible and terrifying paralysis when just waking up. It feels like i am walking around my room trying to get to the door but i cannot open my eyes fully i can just about see.. My knees feel weak and i cannot move my neck it is facing the ceiling.. could this be the start of astral projection?

I'm nearly 20 and have been trying to AP for about 2 months now. I've had one concious exit but it was pretty much an accident! Felt so real though, can't wait to be able to conciously project when i want!!
Hi all. I'm 23, from Alabama/Florida but am currently in Hong Kong doing an exchange program. I've been totally fascinated by everything psychic/spiritual/magical etc you get the picture since I was 17. I've always been extremely enthusiastic about and interested in AP because it seems like the best way to learn by personal experience, experiencing the spirit world directly you know. I could do energy work much easier there since I can't feel it very much physically and so forth. But I've been trying various methods on and off for about 6 years with almost no success. I had a couple 2 or 3 second projections and got snatched back to my body and I lucid dream occasionally but it always wakes me up pretty quickly. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about these topics but would love to verify what I think I know with actual experience :-P

it doesn't entirely make sense to me that people who sign up to kill are into traditions that teach peace and tolerance.

I don't believe anyone actually enlists to 'kill' with the exception of a few I'm sure.

I figured I better post somethin' here by now.
I am 23, I am a Intellectual Capital Accountancy Major(I quantify the intangible into workable systems for easy understanding by decision-makers) You can see why this stuff interests me so much.
I am an entrepreneur. I mad ill at tossin' the disc. I had my first projection experience about 13 days ago. I passed out on side and felt like I was getting ripped out of body. I didn't actually go OBE, but the sensation was enough for me to go "WTF was that!" the next morning and do copious amounts of research.
After gettin' though all the fluff, I found you guys, and it all started makin sense. Thanks again for bein' here.
Anyway, It awesome to be here. I look forward to putting all my skills towards another formidable challenge. ( I tore apart community relations of orgs. of people and relationship dynamics in accordance with given time allocations in my last big project)
I probably will be posting a lot of models and asking for verification. Thanks in advance. Let's get to the bottom of this, I have a very real feeling we are the connecting factor between the best source of understanding of consciousness. All subjective arrows are pointing to us and our interest.

I know exactly what you mean. My first experience was like that. I had heard about astral projection from a friend at school and was giving it a go. I didn't know if I believed in it but what the heck you know, why not try.

I'm 20 been trying to project for about a year or 2. I like the sound of drums when I meditate. Sometimes it lures me into trances, I have yet to master control of this ability.
Soooo, serious question.
I have done a lot of research on topics such as metaphysics, astral projection, and dieting. I don't eat meat at all, however I kinda miss the taste of it.
My question is if I were to become consciously aware in a dream or to project and to manifest a chicken parm, or even a steak, would doing so have any effects at all on my physical or any of my metaphysical bodies?

Nope. You wouldn't be consuming it with your physical body.

from long time I am trying to astral project and I tried many techniques before but couldn't have a AP,so I stopped it for a while and few months ago i started it again, I got succeed some far few weeks ago ,so I first i start to have lucid dreams then suddenly AP happened, I wake up middle of the night and i went to sleep but that time i came out from my physical body, that was a great experience in my life, I keep doing meditation without stopping and now it happens most of the days, never give up people it will happen if you keep trying, we just need to be patience.

I'm currently doing my best to get over the fear of the creepy things I see/feel/hear while in an SP state. Hello. I'm 21 and pretty new to the whole world of astral travel, lucid dreaming and OBE's. It's something I have always been fascinated by, but just recently within the past 6 months or so have really been trying to get into. I have this friend, who is far more advanced spiritually than both myself and my husband. He's been, (not sure what to call it but) teaching us to view his mindscape and helping us to discover within ourselves how to unlock our personal abilities. Well, this past weekend, was the first time he had brought me into his mind, it was quite an experience. I was kinda bouncing all over in his head, going from one place to another. I went somewhere I shouldn't have and got reprimanded by the most beautiful and fearsome creature I've ever seen.. (it was a dragon). As I was being chased, my friend discovered that I had learned (some way or another) that I had the ability to duplicate myself (which I had no idea of) and the me that was being chased was that double. He was having a hard time keeping an eye one me :oops: Anyway, just thought I would share a little of my limited experience and hope to get ya'll's take on it and maybe ya'll can help me understand it all better.

Hello I'm 22, and I've been interested in lucid dreaming and astral projection for years. I've managed to have a few lucid dreams and manages to move around my dreams pretty well but I have yet to manage a real conscious AP. Not sure why, I've managed to get to some part with 3d darkness vision or extreme heat but other then that my body/soul just seem to refuse to do it xD A healer/shaman told me my guardian is blocking me because I wouldn't be able to deal with it, but I will keep trying and convince myself it is all fine :3 This forum is a great source of information and motivation for that ^^

Hmm...My name is Alexa, 23, currently residing in the beautiful Washington State and of course enjoying all of it's greenery ;).
Any who, I wouldn't exactly say I'm new to all these concepts, because they are things I have been thinking and wondering and questioning my entire life. But I suppose I would say that I'm new in the sense that I have just recently found all the missing pieces and put them together.

I'm 4 months into Astral Projection. I started COMPLETELY from scratch. Didn't know what a chakra or an OBE was. I never even heard of a Lucid dream to be honest.
Since then I've projected about 7 times. I only left my room 3 of those times.

I have become seriously interested in AP this year and have been practicing relentlessly, but to no avail.

I read on this very forum that it is possible to nudge people out of their bodies while they are asleep.
Would anyone be interested in making a small community to nudge each other out of our bodies? Everyone here is interested in OBEing and getting there is difficult. Since there is a way to bypass all the hard work of OBEing we might as well try it out.
We would need someone who can already stably AP to be the primer to this chain reaction, however.
Ukrain...this is a generational problem...give me the easy answer!!!
In this, there is no shortcut to anything worthwhile.

Hello! I'm 18 and a full time student of metaphysics, the awakening, and all that is peace and love.
To tell you a little about myself. I'm from the state of Arizona, USA. I am a dreamer in every sense of the term. I love dreams, dreaming, and I tend to dream big in the physical. I have yet to project, however, it is a goal for me in the next two years to be able to consciously AP without too much hassle. It may take longer, but I think if I practice I can get there.
I'm actually very happy to see this thread, I didn't realize how young the people on here were. I just assumed it was an older-persons game.
To wrap it up, there's one more thing you should know. I'm part of the foretold 'Indigo Children'. The next minor step in the evolution of the human species, children with a natural aptitude for psychic powers. (To include AP, RV, chakra control, etc.). And in the months ramping up to the start of the New Age, 2012 I began to feel the coming change of age. When I say feel, I mean I FELT the coming of the energy of the new age.

I've always been sort of an skeptic, leaving behind all sorts of beliefs over time, but OBEs always remained, they are just too real.
I can't say I'm a much of a successfull APer since I've only managed to get out 5 times (guess that happens for not being named Robert), but it is a topic I could read endlessly books about (and I do).

Yes, they are and only "you" can prove that to yourself. Reading, watching videos and "wishing" is always good. But nothing beats hands on experience.

I find that 5 times is actually a lot. Many people report just a few, before they found themselves "blocked". EV and I talked about this and the fact that it's like you only get so many "buys", before you are challenged to go further. Here people will either sink or swim.
