A question about voice in the mind

Hello everyone.

I have a question. Has any of you experience to hear a voice (a very clear voice), and is calling your name?  
I've experienced this when i was a child, but after a year it disappears.  Any explaination why i did not hear that voice again?
The voice that i heard was a voice of a woman, and i repeat, it calls my name.  And sometimes i hear that womans voice calling the name of my neighbor, which is at my side but does not hear it..

My experience with voices is usually when I'm on the edge of sleep, or in a 'mind-awake body-asleep' state. I have heard the most beautiful music on two occasions while going about day to day business (it seemed to be coming from the sky), and have heard what sounds like an indistinct radio near me - but I couldn't make out the words.
So my knowledge of voice related phenomenon (while awake) isn't great, sorry.

Of the people who clearly hear voices like what you describe, MisterJingo is correct. Most happen on the edge of sleep and usually are closely followed by images.

However, I have also experienced hearing sounds while wide awake. In my case it was clairaudience (which I no longer experience). Essentially you hear sounds from higher dimensions, not just the physical. But usually they are indescernible from actual physical sounds so you end up looking for the physical source of the sound. Another possiblity is some type of mental disorder. Obviously if the voice started telling you to hurt people, you would want to see a doctor!  

But those are the only possible explainations I am aware of that coul explain your experiences.

Experienced it, yes.  Do I know what it is, no.

But yes I have gotten that too while wide awake.  But I also hear knocks at the door that when no one is there, phones ringing where there are none, and music from speakers that aren't there.

Maybe I am one of those people that needs to go to a doctor.....
