It sounds suspiciously like Maitreya, the next Buddha, the one due to arrive in a few thousand years. Attempts to bring him sooner have been made unsuccessfully by New Age type groups like the Theosophical Society. Others have just attempted to extend their life expectancy so as to be around still when Maitreya arrives. Both groups are wrong.

What is even stranger is some woman on art bell's show said he was the antichrist. if he was you would think he could get some predictions right.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

I have heard Kathleen Keating's stories of encounters with Creme's M.   Her website is www.kathleenkeating.com .  She warns you NOT to go to M's website and do not ever look into his eyes.  He is said to be the head of Care International, a UN NGO.

Sean David Morton has an article on this particular guy at his URL: www.delphiassociates.org .

Wow, we sure do have some conspiracy theories going on here!
haha.

all I can say for sure is what someone else said above, and that is that Maitreya is part of Buddhist lore, a sort of messianic figure.

Matraya, could be a Pali version of the Sanskrit name "Maitreya"...or more probably it is just a mispelling of the original.

But we can't really mix Maitreya with the anti-Christ as they are from two completely different religions...but some people might take advantage of the general public's lack of knowledge of Buddism and use that name to scare them.

But hey, what is this about the UN being "heavily involved in the New Age agenda" ? I could see people calling them "Utopian", but since New Age has so *many* agendas (aliens on earth, Mother Goddess etc) what exactly are you referring to?

PS. the president of CARE, which I believe is the International one and not just CARE USA, is Peter Bell...what a coincidence huh? Maybe he and Art are brothers in a dark, secret pact to take over the world!

jj --
I am a confessed Art Bell listener for about a decade myself.  I have had my ups and downs with the phenomenon of his show.  He is retired now.  I really liked Sean David Morton's goodbye message saying that Bell provided a space where metaphysical and out-of-the-box subjects could be discussed without instant derision and snide giggles.  He really allowed a huge community of minds to wonder and expand....  Morton had a great talk show of his own for awhile, but the network owners thought he should honor their contract without expecting to receive his contracted salary, but we always seemed to have a connection when I would call-in.  His experience at the M compound in England creeped him out ( www.dephiassociates.org ).

The UN projects a bland, generic official IMAGE, but the creatures and events that shift within its shade are pretty disquieting when you really take a look.

Art Bell's successor, George Noory ( www.coasttocoastam.com ) will be interviewing Mr. Creme in a couple of weeks.  I see some people (not jj I hope [8)]) using the "conspiracy theory" label as a mind jail device like "politically correct."

The Antichrist would extinguish ALL RELIGIONS but his own.

Thought I would dig this up and see if anyone has any comments since B. Creme was interviewd last night on coast to coast. Seems like a nice enough guy, maybe the people who cry wolf are paranoid that there are more religions than their own in the world, and matraya says it doesn't matter which one you follow?

There's an extended version of "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" out on VHS and DVD.  Frodo is asked why he thinks he can trust Strider.  Frodo answers with words to the effect: "If he were evil I think he would appear fairer and feel fouler."

Thousands of people reported ill effects while listening to Creme.
I got a whiff of an acrid smell, and I noticed my battery power had dropped a great deal in the days following the interview.  Many others observed nothing out of the ordinary, according to George Noory.

Has anyone heard about Matraya? If you don't know Matraya is considered to be the New Age Jesus who is a sort of spirit man popping up in various people at random appearing just about anywhere, but also in a man who lives in  England and is supposed to be going reveal himself one of these  days (which is why I thought the subject relevant for today as it is Epiphany- which means showing).
He is kept secret for the most part to make it mysterious and believers in New Age philosophy are eagerly awaiting him. English Benjamin Creme has traveled around for a number of years  teaching about Matraya. Art Bell interviewed Benjamin Creme on October 11,1998,  coast  to coast. [By the way they even  tie the  crop circles to Matraya's powers]. He is supposed to have ties to  the United Nations which would not surprise me since they are heavily involved  in the New Age agenda. Matraya himself is contacted  by Masters  of  Wisdom (spirits?). Creme, who lectures on  radio  on London's International  Magazine shown in five languages  to  70 countries,  calls himself the roaving Ambassador to complete  the transformation of this world's values today. I myself saw him lecture in London some 7 years ago but have lost touch with the movement since. I was dissapointed with the talk as several very definite predictions where made, none of which came to fruition. Do members of the forum believe in the existence of Matrya? Does anyone have positive or negative experience of Matraya or Benjamin Creme?
