Maybe moving quickly has always scared you and now you are more in tune with your fears?

I don't know what to tell ya.

I noticed something similar riding a ferris wheel with my daughter over the weekend.  It terrified me to watch her trying to look over the side.  I actually found myself holding onto the pole in the middle of the "car".  My 6 year old noticed and asked why. I was a little embarassed. [:I]

I have NEVER been afraid of heights.  I've been parasailing and sky diving and they were both exhilirating experiences.

And I was scared of a friggin' Ferris Wheel. :)
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a  well  preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting,

". . . holy sh*t . . . what a ride!"

I don't know what to say other than I hope that never happens to me.  I love that kind of stuff.

I have a question for you though Nay, Do you drive fast, or ride trains or subways that go fast?  If not you may want to try this.  It would be a way to test whether it is the speed thing that is scaring you, and possibly eliminate one of the possibilities.  I would say that getting back into the tube may not be a bad idea.  I hope the both of you can discover the problem and find a way past it so that you can enjoy the things you used to love.

Best Regards,

That is one thing I do...hehehe I drive fast but I have to be the one doing the driving.  I did ride on the trans in downtown Atlanta awhile back. (going to a Braves game) and when the train went up on the high bridges I got nervous then too.  Tis very weird...  Yes, I think I will do the boat thing again!! but will make the hubby drive the boat, NOT my brother! Hey Nay,

we are all evolving and changing with time, one way or another... slowly or rapidly, with or without noticing it... Maybe now you are more conscient of what really can happen in these extreme sitations (racing, boat, roller coaster, etc..), more than before. Maybe you have developed a higher sensitivity for all these. Whatever it is, fear is normal, that is if you control it and do not let it control you. Heart beat and wet hands is a physical fear... if it is really bothering you might want to try to cut on coffee and other things too. You might want to try and drink some herb teas (chamomille, vervain, lemon balm - mellissa,..) it helps to lower your nervous response to "stimulus". There was a time when that helped me. Fear of heights and vertigo do induce fast heart beat and swetting hands and feet, surely as you describe it, it sounds to me more physical and less in your mind, so you still have control over it. I would actually see your fear really as a positive thing, as you becoming more sensitive, more awake of what is going on around you. Just control your fear and do not get into a "panick" mode.

Take care

Tisha

Nay,  I hate amusement park rides.  Just HATE them.  I am soooo sensitive to movement.  Even the kiddie rides make me want to puke.  I have no shame about this.  Who says we have to like them?

Thanks ya'll for taking the time to reply!

Shaman, I don't drink coffee at all..Ummmmm I am a bit hyper already! You made me think tho..yes it is a physical reaction indeed. And like Tisha, I too have some motion sickness but I feel my problem is gonna be solved soon! whoo hoo!
I shall take that ride on the boat and instead of letting the physical feelings over take me, I will raise my arms high and yell in victory! [:D] Then puke on my brother..LOL !

If anyone is interested..well, I have conquered the fears it seems!!
Whoo-hoo! [:D]

First I thought I would ride on the boat, then got to thinking that is was much deeper than that, so I started to add a request in my nightly prayers.

But I digress for a moment..  I have had lots of dreams about Zombies for years now.. always chasing me and what not..  as the years have gone by I started to shoot the zombie rascals..lol  but still had a fear of the whole thing..ya know when ya wake up..the heart is racing and so on?..

Well, the other night I had a another Zombie dream.  I was running away from them..until all of a sudden I just stopped..turned around and kneeled down, raised my arms up and said to the zombie closest to me.."if you are gonna kill me, do it now! I am tired of this"  The awesome thing is this Zombie knelt down in front of me and hugged me! I was surrounded by zombie's at this point and just ended up have a great party with them..!! hehehe..woke up feeling quite wonderful!

Another dream I had the other day pertains to the height and going fast fear.
I was standing in the middle of this very large landscape.. it had cliffs with what looked like a dry river bed down below.  There was a tight rope reaching between the two seperate cliffs.  I got on the tight rope and started across.. I never would have done this before..NO WAY!  it was a LOOOOONG way down, let me tell you..but not one ounce of fear!!  I was amazed even while doing this..I was laughing and crying it was great!  I got to the otherside and then one of those ummmmm..don't know what they are called but you put it on a rope then hold on..and it rides ya down.. I got going fast!  and once agian..no fear!... then the rope broke..I fell for quite sometime..but still no fear..no butterflies in the stomach while on my way down..I did hit the ground tho.. but it didn't hurt..soooo I climbed right back up and did it again..LOL.  didn't break this time and was a great ride!
I woke up and thanked God, guides and even my higherself for helping me with overcoming this fear!!

Now..watch me SOAR!!!!!!!! [:D] [;)]

Nay.

shaman

congradulations!

I am glad to hear you got there!
The dream with the Zombies... it must have a deeper meaning than just what it seems... The Zombies might represent something in you, something that your subconscious is trying to tell you, like for example that you are running away from the reality of your own (everyday) life.. And then when you kneel in front of them, you actually face that reality and are therefore rewarded by the Zombies for at last facing that. Now that realities itself might be for example the fear, if the Zombies were symbols of fear. I am just guessing. But sure you might find a deeper meaning to all that.

good work.
As to me, I have to calm down before I can get back to normal...

Up until 8yrs ago my life was full of hurt, anger, abuse, sorrow, lies and pain but no real "fear" well, perhaps a fear right before I was hit or something but even then it wasn't a overwhelming fear. Considering my circumstances I was quite the tough cookie.  I did what kids do.  I climbed trees to the very top, jumped off roofs, rode rollercoasters..you name it, I did it..

Of late tho I have been dealing with some fears that have came up and when I say fears I mean.. my heart races, palms sweat the whole shabang!

A year ago we took the kids to Six Flags, and of course my son and husband wanted me to ride, I believe it was the Batman ride.  Ok cool I was up for it, but before I even got on I started getting nervous, but I marched foward..and seeing the ppls faces when they got off did not help, let me tell you! hehehe.
This rollercoaster is the one where you sit with your feet dangling.  Well, needless to say my eyes were shut most of the ride and I could barely breath!  When I got off the ride I almost couldn't walk! that is no exaggeration my legs were shaking like crazy.  I was really surprised by this physcial and mental reaction.  Some other things have happened also but I could be here all day telling ya'll about them..lol   I will just tell you about the last experience that has made me post about it today.
We went camping a few weekends ago.  I love camping! My brother has a boat and one of those big inner tubes you pull behind the boat.
Hehehe.. ya'll see where I am going with this don't cha?...[:P]
Yep, freaked me out!! well, my brother was being or should I say THOUGHT he was being funny by going real fast and making the tube jump over the waves and no amount of me yelling at him would make him stop, ummmmmm..not until I flipped him the bird and told him I was gonna kick his freaking arse.  Of course when my kids rode it, they were not scared at all!  I was scared tho watching from the bank.. But this is not the last of it.  I rode in the boat and my brother once again was hauling arse! I was white knuckled!! Arrrggghhh!!

At this point I was starting to question what the hell was going on with me.  I mean was it my age?  was I afraid of death and just wouldn't admit it?  Was it the going fast that was scaring me?

I am at a loss...[:(]  and it is starting to spill over into my projections, because when I start going real fast in a tunnel or flying this "fear" grips me and I pop right back in the physical.  I have thought perhaps I need to face the fear and go back on the boat and just see if I could conquer it.  I just don't know..!!

Soooooooo??? any ideas?...

Nay aka, scaredy pants [:P]
