I've always marveled at thunderstorms and like to watch the lightning. There's been a rash of nasty ones across the US midwest lately.
yes, we really feel microscopic at those moments, isn't it ? A good lesson for us, proud little humans [:D]
We have been having TONS of them this summer in Georgia (USA) So many that our three year old isn't scared anymore..lol seems they are just a everyday thing now.
It is interesting because over a few days several ppl have commented on extremly bad thunder storms.. Squeek had to get off line the other day due to this and he said this one was the worst he has ever witnessed.
Traveler, I too love to listen and watch. When I was a child my father would take us out into the Mesa (New Mexico) and we would just sit there and listen to the rain hit the car and watch the lightening show... As a hyper child, I am surprised I could sit still but I did..it was wonderful and yes I would say some kind of spiritual experience.!!
Nay. [;)]
We've been hit with NINE thunderstorms in NINE days NON STOP. So count Eastern U.S. on that list too.
This thing better taper off soon. I'm getting sick of turning my compy off for it's protection against the power-outages.

yes, here in florida we've had a about a month or more of non-stop thunderstorms... at least two per day... my dogs freaked out every stinkin' day, too! [xx(] the only good thing was, the weather was pretty cool... always in the seventies. just recently the rash of thunderstorms finally ended, and now it's always hot as hell.
Day TEN! :o
We haven't ever had a thunderstorm last this long in our area. EVER. Nor have I ever seen one so violent. It's CRAZY.

theres definately something about thunderstorms. the air has a nice tingly feel to it during one.
I live pretty close to Squeek, relatively speaking, and he's not bs'ing.
There has been a huge streak out thunderstorms lately, but I remember a month or so ago when I was coming home from my grandmas that my mom ran right into a massive storm. It was sunny and warm, and we could literally see the storm as we got went into it. As we went further along, we started getting struck by hail and my mom noticed the thermometer in our car showed that the temperature outside dropped 20 degrees since we were in the sun. That storm lasted about 3 to 5 minutes once we came into it, but it was powerful.
crazy thunderstorms, and now hurricanes! the gods must be fussing as much as us here on the forum. as above, so below, wow!
Wow...
Today i have been interupted in my work by a big surprise...
An huge Thunderstorm came on the Kanto area (region of Tokyo) and surprised me in Tokyo. I have seen Typhoons and earthquakes in Japan but i have never experienced a so big thunderstorm...it was MINDBOGLING !!! Japanese are accustomised to the incredibles forces of nature but for a french it is very impressive, believe me.
Just above my head were beautiful purple clouds filled with electricity, the entire sky looked like an old neon tube. I could count at the peak near 4-5 lightnings per seconds...almost all didn't felt on the ground but when it did...what a SOUND !!! I could feel the sound like a monumental air-pressure. The air was so electric that the hairs on my arms stood still...it is the first time i really realised the huge power of the thunder. The most magnificient and frightening roar of our mother the earth i have ever experienced...it puted me in an altered state of mind...it was, i can say, a spiritual experience [:O]
Even if you pay...i would never try to project myself in such thunderclouds...so powerful that i'm sure it reachs not only our physical reality but the astral too. I couldn't help thinking about the thunderstorm located on Saturn...impossible to imagine...do a search on it if you like to feel very very little...[|)]
Sorry for my awful english but i'm still very impressed. I heard that, sadly, there has been 9 people dead [:(]
