I'm a big dork and don't get it....where are the laughs?

I'll give you a laugh.  

My son (12yrs at the time) and I went into Barnes and Nobles to look for Robert Bruce's PSD book.  This place was wicked quiet when we walked in..(of course, book store..duh)  I mean...I could hear the pages of books turning..

I walked a few feet away looking at something when my son walked up to me with the upmost serious voice he whispered to me............

"Mom, it is so quiet in here I can hear myself shallow"  

Needless to say I started hooting so loud we had to leave.

Now THAT is funny...
