Hey everyone. I reached out to omcasey for some advice on suggestions they had given me, and they recommended asking my questions on the board so others could possibly benefit from them. I took some time and came up with some questions, but I realized that it might be helpful to make this a sort of interview for anyone with AP experience who is willing to share. Also, if anyone else looking for advice thinks of questions that I haven't addressed, feel free to ask them.

How often do you meditate?

When you AP, is your intention specific or different from meditation, or is it a result of meditation?

(This question is more specific to omcasey, but feel free to answer if you'd like) You've mentioned yogic breathing practices in one of my earlier posts. Do you follow other yogic studies, and if so, which ones?

Do you feel that certain physical practices or conditions affect one's ability to AP (diet, physical activity, tiredness, etc.), and what have you found to be most effective in your AP practices?

In my few AP experiences, my biggest obstacle to overcome is remaining calm and not getting overexcited during the buildup of vibrational energy, and the shock of the one "violent" spontaneous exit I experienced, during which it felt as though I was being shot out of a cannon.  Have you dealt with any similar obstacles in your AP journey, and what have been your most effective solutions to dealing with this?

How long have you been APing, and would you say that you can AP at will? If so, how long did it take you to achieve this?

What was the biggest block you've had to overcome in your AP journey, and how did you do it?

I look forward to your feedback, and hope this post helps anyone with similar questions.

Hello Traveler, those are great questions :-), here are my answers:

1. I started practicing meditation last year and have had mind-blowing experiences, but not voluntarily, since they're random. I don't have a specific frequency for meditating right now, but I try to do it every night before sleeping, and I think when I manage to calm my mind, that's when I fall asleep, so I'm not sure if it's the best time, but it helps immensely.

2. When I practice AP, my purpose may or may not be the same as meditation. Through meditation, I seek to calm my mind and enter a state of peace and serene mind that leads me to explore higher states of consciousness. While AP is more dynamic and interactive, exploring new places and living adventures.
However, I intend to get closer to my True Self through AP. My AP practice doesn't result from meditation, as meditation isn't necessary to learn AP. However, it's a beneficial path that leads to it and improves our quality of life.

3. I agree that a healthy lifestyle benefits practice. Having a healthy diet (not necessarily vegan), feeling light when practicing, avoiding heavy or greasy foods, also avoiding alcohol and drugs to keep the mind awake and clear. And most importantly, SLEEP WELL. While some people induce experiences when extremely tired, I've never succeeded that way; I need to find balance between being sleepy and not too awake. I usually practice two days in a row and rest two, that's my cycle, since AP leaves me drowsy all day, and I need to recover energy. Maybe something's failing there, but that's how I'm organizing myself now.

4. In my case, I induce AP not from the very beginning of the experience but fall asleep and become aware once in NPR, so I'm not always very aware of those processes, just sometimes. When I am, I've felt sounds and vibrations, but never as wildly as many have described here; they're mild or almost nonexistent. Lately, I've separated from my body without hearing or feeling anything. But when symptoms appear, I remind myself they're normal and will pass soon; there's nothing to fear, enjoy the process! What I frequently feel is a "wooosh" in my ears, like something's being sucked in lol.

5. In my case, I started having spontaneous experiences at age 6, though not many. Later, I had lucid dreams throughout my life. At 16, I got into the topic and succeeded, and around 20, I started practicing more seriously (but left it for years and returned last year). I can induce experiences voluntarily with the technique I learned back then, but once in NP, I don't experience what I want voluntarily because I forget my purpose or it simply doesn't happen. Ego and desires distract and interrupt me, leading me down the path of instincts and survival. However, when I was 20, I could perfectly control my environment and have fun at will, which doesn't happen now. I feel like I'm in some training program I didn't belong to before. So, I'm adapting to the program. I like leaving the experience in the hands of my consciousness' higher aspects, as Monroe did.

6. My biggest obstacle was fear, since when I first practiced, I saw beings I didn't like – The Shadows.
However, they never harmed me because they didn't see me. I had panic and found it hard to be home in the physical plane, knowing the types of beings surrounding, invisible to me. For a long time, I had to turn on all the house lights to feel calm! But being curious with an insatiable desire to learn and grow was stronger than fear. Those shadows no longer bother me, and I wouldn't let them ruin my adventures! Investigating, I found that through love and light, my energy and frequency rise, avoiding lower planes where those beings exist. The solution is elevating my energy and staying in the light. Many of those encounters may be projections of our own consciousness and fears (or others), so keeping our minds clear and clean would avoid unwanted encounters with those lower aspects of ourselves (or others) taking form and personality in the astral.
Now, I only find light, love, and fun adventures and feel very accompanied by my Guides, who never leave me alone.
My biggest obstacle now isn't fear, but overcoming the tendency to follow basic human desires and focusing on what truly matters and the main objectives that led me to this practice – seeking my True Self beyond ego.

I hope this helps!

hi Traveler,

Here are my experiences

I meditate about 10 min in the morning to set the right mindset for the day. I focus on gratitude and anticipate great things to unfold. My perspective on existence had set from the highest point of view and now I can focus on things, receive knowledge downloads with my eyes open, while I go about my day. I dont need long meditation sessions. I feel at peace at all time and I feel connected to everything at all time. I do Tai Chi a few times per week for about 10 min to feel the energies around me and move them in synchrony with myself.

When I attempt to AP sometimes I use specific commands of what do I want to experience and sometimes I ask to be taken where I am needed or experience what I need to experience.

Diet definitely plays a big part at least for me. I have noticed the patterns way too many times now to ignore. When my brain is healthy to transmit the NP messages I have more AP experiences. Healthy brain means free of substances, sugar, heavy foods, heavy carbs, etc. The body also needs rest from digestion. For me intermittent fasting along with nutrient dense food is a great combination. Exercise is also essential as well as walks in nature to connect with Earth. In addition, following my passions every moment of every day, choosing to do what I think would most excite me (something that I am capable of doing) at any given moment keeps me in positive state of mind and brings me joy. I will give you a simple example. When I brush my teeth, I don't just go through the motion. I put on some music and dance while brushing. Even if you think that you have to do chores, errands and they may seem annoying, try to find positivity within these actions. Think that you are so grateful to have legs to walk to the grocery store. Think that you may be serving someone while stuck in traffic in some way, or testing your own patience and gratitude. Start thinking of something exciting that you anticipate while stuck in traffic and that would be the perfect opportunity to manifest positive things because there are no distractions. If you look at everything that is happening form a positive perspective and find the benefits for you and others, then you will go through life happy.

I have been APing for over 20 years. The greatest obstacle I think for everyone is fear. But you have to face it, otherwise there will be no progress. Within fear you will discover more of yourself and will become stronger, braver and confident. So, see how fear is a positive thing because it teaches you.
MY AP method is imagining places and feeling motions 10 min before falling asleep. I can not AP through phasing or meditation. I tried for 10 years and it did not work. I thought that was enough time and I moved to a different technique which worked ride away. And because my energy is awaken during deep sleep in the middle of the night, I don't have issue with awareness or refocus. I have very clear and strong awareness which allows me to explore the NP for a long time because my body is deeply asleep and will not pull me back from external senses stimuli. I do the motion technique a few times per week. It does not produce AP results every time I do it, but that is perfectly ok. I know that with this tempo, I can have at least 5-8 APs per month anyway. I do thing as I feel. I don't force or push anything. If I lose my desire to do the technique then I have to ask myself why have I lost my desire. You have to find the root case for all problems.

With any obstacles in life, not just AP,  you have to ask why have I created this and what is it teaching me.
