Spring is in the Air and the Night Life is Amazing

What a week. Sitting outside after dark has been quite the adventure.

Just as the sun is sinking down things begin slithering and chirping and rustling.

A bit later the cats begin prowling and yowling and the dogs begin barking and howling.

But as the night deepens all else falls quite when the master of the night makes his voice heard and his shadow glides eerily over the landscape. I highly suggest if you are looking for something to stir your soul or raise your hackles either sit outside in a dark corner for a spell or pull up YouTube (with all the house lights off of course) and search for the sounds of OWLS. Those things can scare the bejeezus out of you and the scariest one of all is called the Barred Owl.

Words of warning, don't sit outside in dark clothes wearing a fuzzy hat less you won't to get attacked. Just saying.

Oh, I love sitting outside in the summer time. I sit back on my lounger, look at the starts, feel the night breeze on my face and listen to the crickets, frogs, owls, the wind waves through the trees. I feel peace and one with nature.
Where I live I don't get much of a night sounds from bugs and creatures, but one time I was on Florida, I stepped out in the garden just outside my room and the night sounds were unbelievable. There were some kinds of bugs that were making a very loud sound, but the crickets were so loud too. There was a fountain there as well, so that added to the ambiance. The inn was an old plantation mansion with rich history. While I was sitting outside on this humid summer night, I could almost feel the past, coming alive or I being transported back when this was a plantation full of people, workers, etc. I just sat there for a long time soaking in the feelings that this place provoked.

Thanks for bringing that up, Nameless! It brings back many memories from home and my childhood where the outdoors at night was an everyday occurrence in the summer, either alone, with family just sitting and talking or gathering with neighbors and kids. We played so much when we were kids at night outside. It was so much fun.

OMGosh, yes. We lived outside in summer when I was a kid. Chasing firefly was a common sport with the youngsters. We loved throwing sticks up in the air as well for the bats to chase. Where I live now as summer really kicks in the mosquitoes are so bad it's near impossible to be out there. But I do love this time of year.

You know what chases the mosquitos away, incense sticks. Our family has used them often when these blood suckers get wild. The smoke repels them.

That's incredible you mention incense sticks, I only learned that trick last summer. I light them in my room as well so I can leave my outside door open and keep the skeeters out too. Only time it doesn't work is if it's real windy.

Very strange to read your post about the Owl!  I just finished listening to the audio book 'Stories from the Messengers: Accounts of Owls, UFO's and a Deeper Reality'.  All about Synchronicity, Owls and UFO's!   If you are going to be sitting outside looking at owls, you should probably look out for those UFO's at the same time!

I had the very same thought as well. I've read about the messengers and often wondered. I've had encounters with owls but weirdly enough haven't actually seen any UFOs. With all the trees we have around here I hope they use parachutes and land in the front yard.

 Very cool about the owls...
:-D sorry to be late to the party out listening to the sounds of owls and mosquitoes bitting . I truly love the outdoors also, we were just having a fire out with my boy and listening to the birds in the forest. we still have snow and just can't wait to finally be out and about. We had the hardest winter ever IMO . thanks for being here , it feels so nice to come here for some reason .  I was extremely busy with work.

Nameless , hope all is good with you and yes the dreams are still all in the plans. Thanks for being here and be so patient, I know deep down that you are here for a reason , my cards are still on the Table and are for you. I had no time to word them yet. coming...
Hi yall!!!

Hey Plume, I love hearing from you. Know you stay busy most of the time, just know you are a breath of fresh air. I can't even imagine snow in April. To me snow is fascinating but know people who live it don't always think so.

There is nothing like being outdoors to reconnect with that 'lost' part of our selves. Today we're getting rain but the temp is mild mid 70s. It's really nice.
