I took a quick glance at the homepage.  

Throughout history people have taken things to evoke a God experience, ie, Kava is used by pacific islanders, psychedelics were used and studied by Stanley Grof, etc.  In this regard there is little new in this.  

Personally, I don't like external forces to induce my brain chemistry experiences.  I mean, this helmet may bring about a God experience but it may also bring about a psychosis.  I don't see any disclaimers by the academics involved.  Only 150 have used these helmets.  What have been the longterm benefits and problems.  What will be the state of these people's brains and minds in twenty years?  What effect does the helmet have on people with mental illness?  Etc...

I don't trust what I am reading because these scientists don't sound ethical in what they are presenting.  I would want to wait several years before I tried one of those brain helmets and the fact that they are encouraging people to purchase and use those helmets without some kind of medical or scientific approval or backup worries me.

On another point.  I could be wrong because I didn't read all of the website, but from what I read they are focussed on feelings of experiencing God.  I mean they look at things like deja vu feelings, feelings of experiencing presences, etc.  They don't for example, go into things like remote viewing or mediumship where very specific information is given that the psychic or receiver could not possibly know the information.  Its just too easy to say that its all in the brain and ignore evidence that suggests that there are some things that could not have come from within.

Susan Blackmore of CSICOP does the same thing.  She has written a book where she suggests that experiences of OBEs/NDE are all in the brain chemistry of the person who is experiencing death.  However, she ignores the fact that many people who have died and come back are actually able to report specific details of happenings which they could not have known as they happened away from the dying person.

The whole tone of the website is demeaning, unethical and onesided.  I had a funny vision of this 'academic' as a small-minded skeptic, dressed up as a fundamentalist, dressed up as a scientist.  Because they don't really believe in God and yet they feel they have a right to discuss the subject, because they discuss it as if they know the Ultimate truth about people's experience and the rest of us are deluded and they believe drawing on their credentials as 'scientists' will give them an air of authority.

I would approach them and their helmet with caution.

But what my mainpoint was, maybe if i didnt made that my clearly up, that this helmet is just another interesting thing for those seekers which are trying to fill in every dot in physics, biology, science, neuro, and so on.

Boring about Susanne Blackmore. There a plenty of those like she who claim and are sure to be so i-really-do-know-this-knowledge of whats going really on.

hehe, yeah, im having the same vision. But hey, they are seekers too, just from another perpective. Im sure they will find out and must accept some facts that are just all wrong right now, cause i dont think they will go on denying. They must always go on in this research they do cause i think it can be really tripped, both for the neurotheologist and the experimentor.

I saw a swedish documentarie yesterday and the title was "God in the brain". The documentarie was all about this new wave of scientist, they call themselves "neurotheologists", that trying to understand religious experiences through the brain. It was wery interesting and meaningful.
The fun part was this.
Michael Persinger, neurotheolog, knewed that many epeleptics had what they called religious experiences and he was trying figure out if there where anything in the brain that are different compare to non-epeleptics. He found that the epeleptics where having more electric activity in the frontal lobes and than he was trying to figure out a way to concentrate the brain electric activity by simply put a helmet with a magnetic field on their heads in hope to success.
Well, he found out that when he getted this helmet to work, than his experiment-patiens where having strong feelings, like loosing the self, feeling observed, and so on.
So, the helmet with the magnetic field seems to force the natural magnetic field (the selfconstructed) to work in another rhythm and than when the other rhythm is achieved, you might experience another feeling/experience other than you are used to. And this is what is so called "religious experience", offcource here the experience is just "fake"; stimulated, but dont worry, that doesnt change anything with the word _religious_ and what the meaning of itself is. (your definition)
And funniest part of it all: they have opened a website for people which are curious to this helmet.

There are some things im thinking of and my soul really wants to share it with you. Things are happening now, all sort of things that we all can touch in to. Things like this helmet, things like this forum, OBE overall, things like the sub-consciousness in all the situations; hypnosis, psychology, (cause i think they are just starving for the collective will to accept the hidden things of sub-consciousness), things like you and me being so interested in getting new information, connect with other people to discuss all the things that are going around now. But then - what is the point of all this?
We need to share what we find and stand up for the humanity and inform them so much as possible about this NOW-paradigm.
Well, this things like the helmet im indicating to you, im not doing this for the "status-thing, ego-thing, or-whateverthing", or trying to get you to buy this stuff, no. I just wanna help trying to fill in the blank dots in your comprehensive picture, your knowledge and the total safety of "not being like other" and just strengthen your self in the society cause you are, what i think, newer than society. You are constantly upgrade yourself while the society slowly degrade itself. This things is maybe not so interesting but im just trying to show you that BIG things are happening in this uniform-NOW that we all exists in. And in this now i think we all should share so much that we can to all our friends, parents, cousins, etc, cause you _really do_ influence them and they in return influence other. You cannot loose speaking of truth. We all (especially all in this forum) now live and climbing up into this truth-paradigm, more than the usual society-people, and we, yes we on this forum, are just starving for new and correct informaion about whats going on and be sure of that we not missing a single importance. So our sub-mission, exept for the oneself-being-satisfied-mission, is to help change the collective thought existence. Prepare people of what is comming and prepare them for themselfes. And that is not a hard part and not a easy part, its just to talk to people with the same enthusiasm as when you are talking to your best friend about this "things". But i am sure you self can figure out whats best to momentarly talk about. Just test your hearts voice out, and im sure that after some testing, 1, 2, 3, you can get a grip on what the hearts voice is and feeling the connectedness, just as a little but very, very meaningful part of this big pussle. Your inner pussle and the society pussle. Without you there is a gap in this pussle. Think of when these two will connect with eachother, think of when all in society live and look at eachother with the same look that are in your deepest heart vision, your most common lucid dream, OBE, or fantasy. I think that is the plan, and im full of hope. Both for you and for humanity.

I really, really hope i have been understood, cause this is the longest english writing i ever done. This is not bulls*** and i may have writen som mistages here and there. But i do hope that you see the same future as i see and _do what you will do_ to create it.
